Talespin? Or Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers. Actually now that I think about it, wasn;t Gizmo Duck from Darkwing Duck or am I just getting my cartoons mixed up. I guess you could say I need to get my ducks in a row? Oh man, I slay me.
Gizmoduck was from DuckTales, but he did appear in at least one episode of Darkwing Duck (It may have been a 2-parter) where he went to visit his old pal Launchpad and got caught up in the happenings.
Darkwing Duck was a huge influence on my childhood.
GizmoDuck was a fairly big part of DWD. He was pretty much the REAL superhero.
Think of it like Green Lantern fighting crime in Gotham. Batman wouldn't exactly be happy, especially when everyone is talking about how amazing this new guy is.
Well yeah. GizmoDuck was in the universe, but the actual character originated in DuckTales. He only ever showed up in DWD for a couple episodes as far as I remember since he was too busy doing shit in Duckburg.
Sucks for people who play DPS only classes. 15 to about 70 is super fast as a tank or healer.
Questing sucks. No exceptions.
Holy shit I am tanking on my warrior and it is so much fun.
My friend was healing me, but then I outleveled his Priest and leveled up to his Shaman so now he hits stuff while I piss it off.
Highlights include: Queueing all day and getting the same healer like, 9 times out of 10. He was seriously an awesome Healer and it was good having him around. He even admits "This is the only thing I do to level. Questings not worth it." Oh man I am so glad there are people like you around.
AND
A Meleeing mage. He kept aggroing shit when I got wise to his plan ("If I stay in combat, he can't kick me! Teehee I'm wasting his time!")
"No one heal or help him."
<Douchemage has died.>
<The vote to kick Douchemage has been passed.>

I haven't had much luck lowering the queue on my mid 20's priest going as healer. DPS and heals seem to take quite awhile at that level, I think both of them are just waiting on tanks, which are much rarer at low levels than at 80.
EWom on
Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.
Protip for any class that has aggro abilities: queue as tank for the the early dungeons. Ret paladin with heirloom gear and a two hander is a better tank than the retarded pug warrior with greys and 400 hp. :x

Plus you don't really need a shield for most of the pre-60 stuff. :^:
1-20 maybe a joke, but it's the kind of joke your mom tells you: slow, boring and it's the only joke she knows so you'll be hearing it a lot.
I don't have much to compare WoW to, having only ever played SWG and MxO previously. But the WoW levelling blows away either of those two games now those were slow and repetitive.
Well yeah, even at launch, WoW was a lot faster and smoother than any previous MMO. But after 5+ years, those Azeroth zones are just shit compared to the stuff in WotLK.
Just because the leveling in WoW is comparatively less shit than in other MMOs doesn't mean it's any good.
Agreed. It's still significantly slower than I'd prefer.
Had an idiot rogue (this is becoming a theme in my life) in a BFD pug who was afk for the first 5 minutes of the instance, every once in a while he'd jog a little to catch up with us but did nothing. I called him out on it, very harshly. He then says "I went afk momentarily but I'm back".
I told him he was full of shit, but we continued. We get to the ritual room with Twilight Lord Kelris, and manage to aggro a bit too much of the trash (but not the boss yet). Things get hairy, and we just barely squeak by, the rogue almost dies and is yelling at the healer for heals, but the healer was out of OOM and saving what little he was regaining for the tank.
We finish that, no one died (was close to a wipe though) and we easily kill the boss. Rogue rolls need on the int/spirit staff. And wins it.
Rogues can't even equip staves, so I don't know why Bliz's brokeass need before greed system allows this, but there it is.
Rogue is insta-kicked by the rest of us and we finish the instance.
I never though I'd say this, but leveling through instances has made me realize that rogues really do attract the very worst component of the already shitty player base.
Apparently if you haven't claimed the Zhevra, it switches over though. Damn.
It must be very popular. One month game time codes are sold out in the EU and have been since the rocket was launched. There's bound to be a few impatient people who went for the 3 month option and paid £27 but I'll just wait. I had a RAF dual box going for a pair of hunters and locks but it's taken longer than a month to get them to 60 even with triple xp, mostly because I've been really lazy. They might just get there with another months game time.
There's going to be some idiots who thought, "I did it at lv30 I can do it noooooooooooow"
This is me.
I was the idiot who thought, "Well, I tanked Gun'drak at 77 without any problems, I'm sure I could do it at 80."
I never logged off in shame so fast.
I wish I could remember the name of the fury warrior who tanked heroic gundrak. The healer didn't complain about his lack of a shield so my geuss is the guy was in pretty decent gear.

Any old world escort quest. 'Nuff said.
I think they were specifically designed to have the NPC walk as slow as possible while still agroing as much of the zone at one time as they could.
Of course it's popular: it's a unique mount. No where else in the game can you get a damned flying passenger mount.
Well yeah. I just meant it's so popular you can't actually get it presently because you can't buy game time in the EU without shelling out an extra £9 for a 3 month sub.
Does it let you dismount in mid air with a passenger on board if you're the driver?
Yes. There is also an "Eject Passenger" button.
Also, don't queue up for a dungeon while flying. When you get into the dungeon, the driver despawns before the passenger, and....you can't enter the dungeon while moving, so.... I had to send my wife repair bill money.

I was leveling my priest (well, still am, but haven't played in a while) as Holy, and got Blood Furnace. Ok. No problem. We get in. The tank is a level 66 Fury Warrior, so the mobs might have been green to him. Not a problem. I throw a Renew on him. Within a single tick, mobs start swarming me. They all die, with me solely healing myself. I get miffed, and have to sit and drink. The 'tank' pulls again. I'm at half mana. I throw a Renew on the tank again. Guess what. I'm swarmed by mobs AGAIN. I drop group. No need for that stupid crap.
And now that I think about it, I should have just bubbled myself and ran out. And came back in in like 2 minutes, and watched the tank die, as I'm not throwing a heal on him because I'll be the one tanking.
Seriously though, every preview for Cataclysm makes me want to play WoW less and less.
I have no desire to level alts anymore (my usual fallback when my main is just raiding and nothing else) because I want to level them through the redone zones.
I log, raid, hit the AH, do my daily and log off these days.

Yep. finally got heroic 10 ICC down to one night, very happy. Think we're going to stop at 11/12 HM in 25 man as well so that we're only doing 1 or 2 nights a week in there.

That's the attitude I use to develop for major patches. Cataclysm has me excited for getting back into WoW.
It makes me want to play WoW more and more, gotta get ALL those alts levelled, geared, professions finished, clear out all the northrend quests on them and epic flying on all of them. I have a checklist to complete!
All the while saving those last 2 spots for my new gobbo mage and troll druid to go through new WoW.
I have a feeling the avr mod is going to get banned
A gm came to the weekly raid and asked politely for the mage to not use certain pictures anymore
Then dc'd the mage when he said O this one?
I know Cataclysm does look like the coffin is being lowered into the grave of the game
Why is it not out well we heard nothing in the way of news from September of last year until a few weeks ago.
I am looking forward to Star Wars TOR but I am not looking forward to the people I have dealt with in the other three games I have tired in the era of WOW
I am going to play a Goblin just to see what it's story is about and then shelve it like the death knight I did
I might play a Worgen warrior my only complaint about the worgen was one I asked at blizzcon in the survey after trying it out was the fact you did not get to choose what your human form looked like
I know this is unfair to druids in a way but you really should be able to choose what both forms looked like since you might not be able to be a werewolf in Stromwind

Cataclysm changing the game in huge ways, clearly it's dying!
Hey, why don't we save the "game is dying" stuff for when the subscription rate drops below 1 million people? No wait, I'll give you 5 million, just so you can start sooner.

I decided to leave my alts untouched for the expansion. There's lowbie content that's new to see, and I want to see it. I also like having the perspective on how the leveling course changes. Every time Blizzard has dropped something in the way for low level characters to have convenience, whether it be a general experience sweep or a specific class change, I've made a new character to see what it's like compared to the old days.

What an amazing sunny perspective you have.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cataclysm grew the playerbase by a non-trivial amount. Which I guess is like the opposite of "the coffin."
I know when Star Wars comes out next year the rinse repeat of the player base will happen yet again. I really do not see the player base growing because the game is aging and people are moving on next year there is a lot of new online games
