I keep running into level 50+ shaman that don't drop totems.
Wtf?
I will certainly always drop them for boss fights, and if the encounter has poison or fear I will drop the appropriate totems. But for trash, I only drop totems if the fights are going to last more than 10 seconds each. For a typical party, this means totems nearly every fight. However when I'm in one of those ridiculous overgeared parties where the fights last a matter of a few seconds, if I tried to drop a full set of totems for each mob I would quickly go oom with no way to recover (since shamanistic rage mana recovery requires that the mobs be alive for more than 2 seconds so I can hit them several times and get mana back).

Garrosh Hellscream: Don't talk back to me, troll. You know who was left in charge here. Have you not stopped to ask yourself why Thrall chose me instead of you?
Vol'Jin: Dere's no question why, Garrosh. He gave ya the title because he needed ta see once and for all if ya could overcome the pride and bloodlust dat have long run in ya family. I t'ink he did not expect de answer to be apparent so soon.
Garrosh Hellscream: You're lucky I don't gut you right here, whelp. You are foolish to think you can speak to your Warchief in such ways.
Vol'Jin: You're no Warchief of mine. Ya've not earned my respect, and I'll not see the Horde destroyed by ya thirst for war.
Garrosh Hellscream: And what exactly do you think that you are going to do about it? Your threats are hollow. Go slink away with the rest of your kind to the slums; I will endure your filth in my throne room no longer.
Vol'Jin: I know exactly what I am going to do about it, son of Hellscream. I will watch and wait as ya people slowly become aware of ya ineptitude. I will laugh as dey grow to despise ya as I do.
Vol'Jin: And when da time comes dat ya failure is complete and ya "power" is meaningless, I will be dere to end ya rule swiftly and silently.
Vol'Jin: Ya will spend ya reign glancin' over ya shoulder and fearin' the shadows, for when da time comes and ya blood slowly drains out, ya will know exactly who fired da arrow dat pierced ya heart.
Garrosh Hellscream: You have sealed your fate, troll.
Garrosh spits at Vol'Jin.
Vol'Jin: And you yours, "Warchief."
That is awesome. I almost didn't click because of epic spoiler warnings, but since I'm alliance side I'm glad I did.
On my alt I only drop the ones that are useful for me in a group, Manaspring and the air one I think. The rest I drop when theres poison or something. When I'm leveling I don't even use them at all. My Shammy is like 64 and resto. i just sorta earthshield, riptide and chainheal whenever theres a break in watching TV. :winky:

I would actually go so far as to say that if you are a dedicated Alliance player who doesn't have Horde toons, go ahead and read the spoiler because it's cool, and it's not something you're going to get to see in gameplay.
And if you're a Horde, don't read it, because it's cool and you will get to see it in game.
It still amazes me that people separate player base from real life.
These are people.
People are assholes/rude/different/loud/quiet/gross/awesome/smart/ignorant/retarded/young/old.....forever and ever one could keep going.
People are dynamic. You get the same exact people that you get at any social grouping. Period. The grass is not greener on any side and this is nothing new.
If the "random" people you meet on a day to day basis are anything like the random people you encounter playing wow you need to fucking move.
And you're damn right I am calling out the wow playerbase. This is because it's markedly worse than the playerbase of the other MMOs I have played.
because its also a good five or six times larger than any other MMO that ever has existed, ever.
the larger you get, exponentially more retards flock to it.

Also, the simplicity of it allows dumb people to stay in the game. FFXI had a horrid learning curve and a tight playerbase, such that the bads couldn't level past a point, they would acquire a reputation and eventually wouldn't be able to get parties. Once you got past 60 or so, the bads just weren't there hardly.
Goddamn, I fucking hate Blackrock Depths. The dungeon is too goddamn big, navigating it is a nightmare, there's locked doors everywhere...and when a moron wipes you all the way at the end, the walk back from Thorium Point is absurd.

Was there a graveyard there before Patch 1.5 added Thorium Point in?
Seriously, getting attacked by a shark in wow always scares the fuck out of me, just because... it's a fucking shark, they are terrifying in a visceral, primal way that no dragon or undead zombie can touch.

But seriously now, Why the fuck does that guy have a broom sticking out of him?
zombie shark... The scourge wasn't stopped, it just moved into the oceans!
Oh and
I'm forseeing a major raid or simply a "Battle for Undercity" type event with the players fighting through Orgrimmar with Thrall to stop Garrosh, Garrosh is beaten but Thrall spares his life since Thrall feels sorry for him. Thrall walks out and Vol'jin steps from the shadows with some line like "I told ya dis would be comin." and kills Garrosh. Alternatively the fight with Garrosh doesn't go well, Thrall is about to die and Vol'jin takes him out from behind or something similar.

thats a fucking broom.
maybe its supposed to be a harpoon, but its a goddamn broom.
So... when did they make *all* the mobs in the nub areas non-hostile? In addition to it not really making sense, it makes the start areas even more boring.
Were people really dying to Defias apple thieves all that much?

Yes. Those fucking ganking bastards could kill you with ease.

They did like... no damage... and they won't even follow you across the river which is like 5 feet away.

Wasn't it the Defias Pillagers who were the ones ranked way up on the deadliest mobs list?

Yeah. Three-shotting fireballs in Vanilla were great, especially since the first one usually hit you before you noticed you had aggro.
Just tanked Old Kingdom on my Paladin. I was dying really really quickly and I could never figure out why. I was so worried that I was doing something terribly wrong.
Then, after the dungeon was over I looked at some of the meters and noticed the spells our tree Druid was healing me with:
Those are literally the only spells she ever cast in the entire dungeon.
Turrible. Just turrible. I play kitty/bear and even I know that healing touch is for bads.
The enchants she's got are depressing, too...I mean, we were all nubs at some point but I don't see how it's possible that no one sent her a /w trying to help with this mess of a toon.

There were four pulls of these mobs.

The Scarlet Crusade near Deathknell were pretty brutal for Undead players.
I can't think of many other parallels though.

The night elf imp cave is still a pretty brutal place to wander into.
Not because of the imps, they're easy. But the quest mob in there can eviscerate you in seconds.

The human encampment near Razorhill or whatever in Durotar is horrible. The mobs always run off and get a friend or two, and respawn so quickly that if you don't go quickly, they'll respawn behind you and kill you. You fight your way in, and fight your way out, and do a lot of praying.
I think that's as close as a parallel as there is.

Tirisfal Glades in its entirety was a deathtrap. The Murloc beach, the Scarlets, the crypts... anything north of Brill was potentially a place you were going to spend a lot of time "napping" on the floor.
Any news on if we're going to see any more heirlooms before cata drops? I'm strongly considering levelling a prot warrior goblin and would love to have a heirloom shield.

No news so far. You still have lot's of time to do like I did and just buy every blue or epic shield that appears on the AH. I have a new shield every 5 levels banked for my Goblin warrior.

Made a mage, got to the troll caves before It registered that something was off.
Then I just shrugged, walked in and grabbed the fricken book.
They were all like. Meh, w/e man, we're tired of defending that shit. It's yours.
At which point my mental dialog kicked in and I responded: Well, you aren't bad dudes really... Its a shame I have to do this. FROSTBOLT!!!!!
I'M CONJURING MANA STRUDEL! RRRAAAAAWWRGGG!
There is a goddamn terrifying picture of a scourged whale in the WotLK art book with the blubber just MELTING off it.
