The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Sleep is Death is a weird duck. It's a communal story-telling game, where one player is the storyteller and the other is the player. It's completely free-form!
There's a pretty good community around the game too, but people have trouble finding a Controller or a Player. I need to review this game, and so I come to you, SE++.
The game costs $14 for 2 DRM-free copies. I'd say it's well worth it.
To get something really unique the Controller has to prepare a lot of stuff ahead of time, so that's what would be the most tiring bit I guess. Especially since if you let the Player guide the story then you may not end up using half the stuff you create.

it's basically d&d with no rules, or any other role playing game
or maybe not, because there aren't any defined roles -- the played could simply play him/herself
I'm pretty sure I've played something like this once with a bunch of people in a room, just talking through our actions with the controller making it up as he went
OK, I've got a client open waiting for a connection so if somebody wants to connect I'm happy to fumble through a game as Controller

Edit: Actually I'm going to mess with the client for a bit, not sure if anybody can connect while I'm doing that, I guess post or PM me if you want to join
I preordered it and then realised I'd actually have to wait for friends to have the time to try it out. Played around in the editor a bit, and once you've viewed those tutorial videos it's all a cinch. Making sprites/tiles is a hassle, but lots are included already and you can nick resources from 1) everyone you've ever played with automatically, and 2) manually import resource packs.
The major hub for this game is SiDTube - from here you can find other people to play public games with, resources to download and examples of completed stories. The best-rated of these can be found here. Godwin's law is still in effect though.

do you want to play with me
I have to wonder how fun/tiring it is for the storyteller
or maybe not, because there aren't any defined roles -- the played could simply play him/herself
