Finding cheap rings?

I've been trying to think of a simple gift to give to several friends of mine before we all graduate. The idea of a plain ring on a thin chain seems appropriate to me for several good reasons I'll not go into.

Basically, I'm looking for a place to order, at most, 10 metal rings for as little as possible. I'd like them to be resistant to rust and difficult to damage, but that's about all I need. Being able to have something engraved into them somewhere would be a plus, but isn't necessary. I haven't had any luck finding any that weren't either overly intricate and expensive or for arts & crafts. Do any of you know a place?

A place to buy dog tag chains would also be useful. I am le lost :(

Best place I can think of for basic metal rings would be a county fair. Or some kind of festival / carnival where they have vendor booths set up. Seems like there's always at least a couple dozen vendors with plenty of rings (you just have to pick through the big-ass skull and dragon ones).
