Did they ever enable that mouse to register both left and right buttons at the same time?
No, and it's not really something they could patch. It's a physical problem.
Edit: Clicking one side or the other is actually clicking down the entire face of the mouse.
I fucking hate sitting down at a computer with one of those mice. And I don't mean in gaming. Just touching it feels weird. "Design over usability" needs to die.
The G5 looks fine. Even though technically the top is one piece, it still has a partition in the middle making the two "prongs" where the buttons are operate more independently.

I'm pretty surprised by how well DiRT 2 runs on my system, I have a meh video card (ATI Radeon 3870) but can go at 50 FPS at 1680x1050. It's so pretty.

You can turn off the side buttons, yeah.
Nah, that was just with lab computers. Luckily, the couple jobs where I actually had to use macs, they had regular generic mice.
Dirt 2 is fun, though I wish I could ignore all the non-rally race types.
I'm trying to remember, were the old Colin McRae games slightly more sim-y? I think that's what I used to play. Aside from Richard Burns Rally, anyway, but I didn't play that as much as I got brutally raped.

Not just slightly - prior to Richard Burns, they were probably the only major rally franchise around, and prided themselves on the accuracy of their simulation - Codemasters was first and foremost a sim shop. This is all magazine review knowledge, but I'm fairly sure you could turn off a lot of the trickier aspects anyway. Given that the series is still called 'Colin MacRae: DiRT', obviously a lot of the fans are less than pleased with the shift from straight rallies with a dour scot shouting in your earhole to extreeeeme mud ramps on quad-bikes. Guess which sold better?

I refuse to use the mighty mouse, whenever I get the chance I just plug in my own.
Seriously, who at Apple thought that thing was a great idea? "We must keep to the aesthetics of our machine, never mind if the user's hand cramps into a claw after 30 minutes."
Ok, so I bought the Rockstar Collection for £30. I wanted to play GTA4 and Episodes from Liberty city, so I figured it was good value.
Downloaded and installed GTA4 - It runs, but is unplayable due to my crappy low spec computer.
Think i've got any chance of getting a refund?
Revilo, probably not, but hey, you own the games forever now, so when you get a better computer, you can play it then. For now, San Andreas is great fun, try that?

Right, thats what im thinking. Except it'll be a long time before I think about buying a new computer.
Untill them I guess I can play San Andreas and Bully...and maybe midnight club 2. Really worth the £30...*sigh*

I owned & played most of the CMR series. I wouldn't exactly call them simulations - they were very similar to DiRT in the way of driving mechanics...short 2 to 4 minute stages, very arcadish physics. Still fun though.
It is correct that many fans of the CMR series have hated the direction Codemasters took with DiRT2...they wanted a straight WRC-style rallying game, featuring WRC type stars. They're opposed to the current format of the game and they hate Ken Block.
No, if you want simulation physics you need to give Richard Burns Rally a try. It's the Grand Prix Legends of rally sims; harsh, very unforgiving, but very rewarding when you get it right.
Yeah, it is. It's a shame they didn't give it a real chance. Most of them made up their minds before it was ever released.
Also, pretty popular DiRT2 site that has a number of different car skins...not sure if they work the same with the Steam version but it might be worth a try.

The way Dirt 2 has Rally drivers constantly tounging my balls and telling me how great I am is kind of lame. Even when you fail miserably they're like,"Don't worry, you'll get um next time bro." I like games that tell me I suck when I do.
Also since they don't have my name for some reason (they did in Grid), I'm making everyone call me Colonel.

I use the mighty mouse for hours at a time with no issue.
To each their own I guess. I find it really uncomfortable to use (I was exaggerating about cramps in half an hour, but to be honest, I don't think I was exaggerating by much). Especially the way it's designed to register right-clicks.
I really can't stand the thing when I have to use it. It's not ergonomic (at least to me) when I hold it and it's not as functional as it should be.
So I know this is the Steam thread and not the Direct2Drive thread, but since we don't have a Direct2Drive thread (or at least, I've never seen it), I figured I'd bring this up here.
Direct2Drive is having its spring sale, lots of good stuff. Currently, SWAT 4 Gold is up for $10. Worth the price of admission?

I never claimed I was using the mighty mouse to play TF2. I was only showing off the mousepad.
Nah I'll be using this guy:

Is it Valves fault or Codemasters fault?

Soo they are taking blame, I'll give them blame.
And hot damn, I really want to play Fuel.
You have just one hour played in GRID. Play some more GRID.
I beat DiRT 2 after like 24 hours of gametime.
I want FUEL to unlock though.
Also since they don't have my name for some reason (they did in Grid), I'm making everyone call me Colonel.
I do hope DiRT evolves into MuD (stupid i know), but I want some damn weather effects already! The technology is now!!
Yes, but it's entirely possible the sale will have ended in the next few hours.
I wasn't more than casually interested in it until I caught this in the description...
Anyone play this? Good? Is it turn-based or real-time? The description does not say. (There is a demo, but I am at work.)
