Hopefully I can squeeze some more in with the bees in the future, and learn the ways of the pro-pipe.

Thanks to this thread I got a beta code last night. I only had time for two games but what I played was hella fun. Jetpacks are awesome for raining grenades down when the defenders are huddled around the flag you're trying to grab.
I'll be swapping between this and the copy of Halo Wars I got from Gamefly this weekend. Gamertag is added to the wiki. I look forward to playing with people who are cool.

So, is playing as an Elite really different than playing as a Spartan as all the previews seem to indicate?
Playing as an Elite is like playing as a Spartan/Elite in Halo 3. Playing as a Spartan is like playing as a Marine in ODST.
So things like jump height, run speed, air time, all vary.
Yeah I was surprised.. first time playing as an elite I noticed the height difference and the run speed much more than I thought I would.
Also, I will never get tired of the grunt that the elites make when you roll. Although if they were trying to make them sound badass I'm not sure it worked, it actually just makes me want an elite as a pet.

Right so instead the high dollar items cost EVEN MORE and the actual customization of armor is lessened because everyone has to buy the same shit to get to new shit, rather than people just buying what they like.
Apparently when you're using the guard powerup, and someone punches you, they lose their shield.
I've noticed this a number of times and holy crap, is it useful.
Yeah, a guy killed me with a well times armor lock. It was a close fight, we both had no shields.. he pops it right before my melee swing. Figure I'll punch anyways, see what happens. Suddenly I'm dead.
It was at that point that I learned that whenever someone armor locks, just turn around and walk away. They can't hurt me, I can't hurt them, I'll go find a better fight.

Heh, Microsoft is giving the people still playing Halo 2 invites to the Reach beta.
I can't imagine how they thought this would be a positive gesture. In order to play Reach, you have to shut down Halo 2. If you've been playing Halo 2 for two weeks solid, you're probably not going to be interested in shutting it off to play Reach.
Though I suppose that is more dignified than just temp banning people to boot them out of the game.

Go to Halo Waypoint and rescan for your Halo milestones.
I am awake (after being up for like thirty six hours yesterday) and ready for more Reach until I work at 5pm CT.
Team Crazy King is more fun when your entire team goes Stalker and you get in the hill and go invisible and then don't move.
If you don't move, your invisibility lasts for like a whole minute, it's ridiculous.
