Hey. Sorry about not being 'round this weekend. Figures it's when a bunch of people need invites. I'm almost positive I bumped you up to promote powers though Shark. :P
Litany's main argument was that some people were going online, realising nobody was online, then promptly going offline on Merch 1. So he wanted us to all go there - despite how small the number of active players still is in that clan. I was personally happy with Merch 2 being our main clan, since everybody there was active to some degree...

...it's kinda frustrating that we've left some people there, I hope the clan became disbanded when Loupa left or whatever...
Hey now, I don't speak for the entire group... Well, not all the time, anyways. :P A couple of us decided it was easy for those of us in Merch 2 to swing back into the original Merch / PA clan than it was to "force"/ask relapsed players to go through the rigmarole that we're pretty much accustomed to, and it would have virtually eliminated talks of a second clan if it had gone smoother, making it the defacto choice moving on.

So, if you clan name is Merchenaries 2 on your player sheet, leave that clan then fire someone (including me, as I'll be 'round now) a message and we'll sort this out right quick.

Well, gimme an hour. Should do something about this rugged and manly forest that's sprung up on my face. I'm starting to attract wildlife.
By which I of course mean I have four unsightly hairs that make me look like I'm trying so very hard to fool liquor store employees. Before I die I'd like to be able to grow a bread. Just once.

I'm pretty sure that you went offline for the weekend before giving me powers (I was still online for a while after you left and I didn't have them at that point, I'm guessing somebody else gave me them...unless it took THAT long to update). Either way, no big deal :P

Oh yeah, e3 has been kind of a letdown so far...Microsoft had by far the worst presentation that I've seen from them in many years - and the other companies didn't really have too much to show off either. Although, EA and Ubisoft did have their moments. Halo: Reach having space battles was a pretty interesting reveal - everything else was either known about or leaked. :(

Lets hope that Nintendo and Sony can hold it down, eh?

    Nintendo predictions:
    3DS being their main focus.
    Metroid: Other M gameplay/trailer.
    New Zelda game reveal.

    Sony predictions:
    Move being their main focus.
    Epic montage of upcoming games.
    New FF Versus 13 trailer/gameplay.
    New FF 14 trailer/gameplay.
Mention of the PS3 Slim hardware revision that has been rumoured.
HOPEFULLY a Kingdom Hearts announcement or other pleasant surprise.

I came up with more earlier for both companies - but I forgot them. :P

And yeah, I'm in just the Merch clan; no "2" to be seen.

I *just* logged on, in all honesty. Was going through my PSN mail, making sure invites were sent out. :P

Edit: I did send one out to you Paradox, so we're cool now right? Hopefully we'll cross paths tomorrow so I can both apologize in "person" and promote you so fast you won't be able to hold a grudge. Unlike that Shark guy.

I'd say that Nintendo won it this year, made up for their poor performance last year.

Sony 2nd - needed more Kev (that guy seems awesome!), Microsoft 3rd (shame as they've consistently had awesome e3's for as long as I can remember).

    Finally completed inFamous (on hard).

100%'d the dead drops, districts and got over half of the power fragment things. However, I couldn't afford my final power upgrade (12000exp for the final lightning bolt upgrade). I switched down to easy to mess around and not only are the enemies easier - but I think they give you more experience points too!

Some of the trophies are too gimmicky for me to care - especially when enemies are now hard to come by. :(

It was a pretty good game with a nice story and morality system - sure it has some annoying technical problems (bad graphics, jagged edges, framerate dives, sticking to every single climb-able surface(!)) - but the lighting was pretty nice (especially in the sewers!).

Looking forward to the next game - although I'm really not liking the "new" Cole.

My problem with InFamous's "morality" system was that it was the laziest device of it's kind, ever. You made a single choice at the start of the game and then were forced into a path - if you wanted to be able to play with the toys in the game - which completely negated the system, possibly before the user booted up the game for the first time. There weren't any shades of gray. All red or all blue, all the time.

And I'm with you on Cole's redesign, but I couldn't tell you how I'd improve upon it as I honestly can't come up with anything.

    ---

Kind of surprised MAG didn't get Move support, and I'm trying not to read anything into the new SOCOM having it. :P

Really? I figured that every choice would change the story - that sounds kind of disappointing then.

I'll probably do an evil playthrough before the sequel comes out - or something.

I also agree about not being able to come up with anything different for the redesign...

Last match was all about Van as he brought up the AAA and the bunker all alone. I died 30+ times and shot rpgs at choppers and APC. Result a definitive win for the mother land. More so as valor were putting 2 or 3 squads on us.

Hey, at least you got a ribbon for it! And I finally got the repair AAA gun ribbon and kill 10 ppl with vehicle gun turret ribbon :) . Also, never underestimate the stupidity of people. The only reason I was able to bring up the AAA and bunker is that the silly geese were to busy blowing up the jeep I came up with instead of hunting me down. By the time they found me, it was too late, the bunker + AAA was back up :).

I was surprised we won that one, our section was all over the show and not sticking to the bunker. Everyone in our platoon seem to be adverse to killing enemy apc's. You sticking the aaa up and killing them around our bunker brought us the time for glorious victory.

    What the hell?

I just reached level eight, so I've been playing Domination, or at least trying to. My first match everything went okay. My second match I was voted and kicked out of the game immediately and insulted the entire time. I didn't do anything wrong - no team killing or straying from the objective. The third match I was immediately voted out, as well, for being a "piece of shit" and "team killer" and someone who would "sabotage" the game.

Huh? I'm none of those things. :(

They were circumventing the red line (out of bounds marker) on our Sabotage defense, and a couple of us had an issue with that and asked them to stop. After being mocked for having some concept of sportsmanship, both sides began team killing each other. I was ordered to be "officially given a Purple Heart", PA actually stands for "Pussy Ass" and many lolz were had. I ended up getting a couple of PSN messages from one of them basically stating we sucked and I kindly pointed out we didn't need to abuse a glitch to win on our lopsided map. A couple more insults my way and then he calmed down and came oh-so-close to admitting I was right. Alas, poor Yorick...

difference is he know more skills.

It's definitely R$O, he was promoted to OIC in a losing cause in one of our matches today and went on and on about how he was a man and was going to "take the loss on his record". And that he was going to have relations with the former OIC's mom so she'd know what a man was and again with his "I'm older than you are" card. I didn't bother to fight this one, as the first OIC was using an annoying voice changer, which he also rambled on about for like two minutes.

    He's pure class, straight through.

Vac and I teamed up to lead a bunch of pubs on glorious sver defense vurses the evil capitalist raven. As a lance cpl entrusted with the mute masses I feared we would lose our bunker as the one on the left collapsed under a 3 section assault by calculating raven. I screamed at our men in the forlorn hope that one of them would understand the language of socialism and brotherhood. Although they were mute they understood the import of their glorious PA masters and eventually came together to cover Vac and I as we brought up the weak left wing and our own centre bunker. These early success filled our men with vigor as they cut down the capitalist scum coming over the ramparts. Raven were reduced to costly frontal assaults against our gate in lieu of attacking our overpowering strength.

I managed not to die 30 times this time around so great sucess.

It was a pretty ridiculous match. Raven only managed to unlock access to two out of the eight points, and they didn't capture a single one of those two afterward. We certainly had our section of the map locked down. I was basically running back and forth between the bunker emplacement and the gate, repairing both, and healing people in between. Repair Kit + Medical Kit = glorious victory.

So I learned something about the chest candy trophy, it does it by ribbon count (ie. number of different ribbons you have). Since they added 4 new ribbons for interdiction, and seems like they did not change the ribbon count to get the trophy, I got it even though I was missing 2 original ribbons (As I got 2 of the 4 new ribbons). I think the the medal trophy is the same.

Unfortunately MAG has become nearly unplayable for me. I'm having a freeze, requiring reboot almost every other game the last 3-4 days. Nothing better than playing 28 minutes of domination defense only to freeze up with 2 minutes left on the clock and lose all progress. I don't know what's going on but it's caused me to lose 3k to 4k xp. I know the patch has made it more unstable, but has anyone else had issues this bad.

Its much like the COD series games with a "Prestige" system, after hitting the cap lvl of 60 you have the choice to become a "Vetern" and change PMC if you wish.

As a couple of people mentioned, character levels tend to be in a flux as players "restart" on difference factions, which lowers your character level back to one and [only] grants a 10% experience boost. So a level sixty (which is the level cap) that has never vetted and one that has vetted a dozen times play exactly the same, as the experience boost is no longer in effect.

Long story short, you wouldn't be handicapped on those grounds. Most likely when you start you'll feel lost, but that's normal with MAG. That'll be the biggest hurdle. I can't tell you if it's worth it for you, but I can say it's still constantly fun experience once you get the mechanics down. And it's even better when those around you have as well.
