I'm going to try to buy the DLC right now and then hop on to play, although you know how finicky the PSN is with accepting certain cards or addresses.

People better be on before 7pm GMT tomorrow...I'll be on from around 12pm-ish GMT. :(

That said, the DLC better be on for Europe in the first place! :S

Also, nice to see that you can get games fairly easily...

It looks like my killing ability might shine through on this mode. :D

Then again, I won't really be able to flank people if they come from everywhere. :(

Yaaaaay downloading now. After my long time without my PS3 I decided to respec back to sniper for the 3rd time and once again I regret it. I think I get bored too easy.

Anyone else had tropheys for this game mode for a few days now? I think maybe my game got a crazy bug.

A couple people had them glitched over.

I think the medals / ribbons are "working as intended", and you only need to get the original number of them. For example; if you are get two of the ribbons (like Dashed Hopes (Kill two mines) and Mowing The Grass (10 Vehicle Turret kills)) you don't need two of the base ones (like Armchair General (30 Bunker Turret kills)).

Still trying to get used to playing a FPS with the PS3 controller.

The nice thing is, everybody else in the game has the same handicap. There have been several times that I thought I was toast but the other guy missed me completely.

I've been playing a sniper style role mostly, although XP seems slow going.

Haven't played any other modes other than Suppression. Not sure at what point I would be able to move on to other modes without getting my ass handed to me.

    1. Add me.

    2. Get the DLC.

    3. When I get a chance to play, I'll teach you stuffs. :D

It was still "surprisingly" playable pre-Interdiction (aside from the disconnect issues). Queue times were kinda high, but nothing really bad. It's way too early to call what effect Interdiction will have on the overall game, but last night we didn't queue for longer than a minute and a half, tops.

Well, that mode is different...as well as crazy.

Although, I can't really maintain high k/d's due to the crazy nature. I can't exactly play smart/well when I'm being nailed from all angles... :P

However, I like that it's attack/defend - it means that my actions definitely mean something (providing I'm near the points). :D

Don't feel bad I can't drive an apc to save my life either. It seems like there is a delay from the controll input to the vehicle whenever I'm behind the wheel. First time I capped an aqui vehicle I though the game was about to crash cause I didn't run into anything like all that lag had dissapeared.

Hehehe. Wity wasn't around, I was forced to pick at random!

It's intense, but everyone's still really disorganized...like MAG was in the Open Beta.

Both sides have eight APCs, thus if you attempt the coup de grâce and try to take / hold all three locations at once, you have to spread very thin. Holding two of them increases your presence at those letters. Hiding the APC away from the letter(s) but close enough to still defend it is key. From the one game earlier today, we simply contested C the entire game with a nicely parked APC. None of this headless chicken stuff. :P

Populated enough for maps at peak times. Struggling at non-peak times (early morning) on select map modes (aquisition mainly).

BTW I absolutely LOVE the SVER interdiction map (epic battles), and abhorr the other outdoor PoS mode (I think Raven).

*sigh* I finally get back to playing and my PS3 gets borked. Anyway I apologize for dropping out earlier and for being away so much. I should have my PS3 back by Friday morning, I'm all of about 15min away from a local store that does repairs and $100 and 48 hours should be the extent of the damage. While I was in the store I snagged Monster Hunter for Wii so I can do something while I wait.

From what I was able play interdiction is great, as in I think I may be playing it way too much. I personally think it needs even more players but I'm sure others will disagree.

Intresting question. Since I have yet to actualy play the new mode I would imagine that if the map is in your terf then you are concidered the defender. Then again I could be completely wrong and it could all just be a neutral win or loss depending.

Picked up a bluetooth headset. I don't have any aspirations of being a great leader, but good god some of the people on here that ARE "leading" are morons.

I don't think my play time matches up with you UK guys, but I'll get you friend-ed this evening.

In regards to learning skills, how many branches can you go down and not be gimped? I've picked up some Sniper stuff, and claymore mine that I use to watch my back when sniping, but when we get to the point of needing to rush Objective C, I like to switch away from sniping. Usually because the enemy turtles in the base and there's nothing to shoot at.

Yeah, there are a lot of idiots leading - although it's not really necessary for Supression, Sabotage or Interdiction. You really only need leaders for Acquisition and Domination. Sure a good leader can help in the other modes, but it's not as vital - due to the nature of the modes.

As for branches - you get 1 skill point for every level up until you hit level 60. (Where you have 60 skill points)

All I can really say is that you should plan and work out the routes that you want to take after knowing this, as there will be a lot of things that you cannot afford to "purchase". :P

We're not all from the UK by the way, only around 3 of us I think? (Loupa, Adda and myself)

I'm pretty sure the latter is correct. If you check your friend / clan list whilst waiting for a match to end, you normally see the icons for the two factions playing in that game and whether they are attacking or defending. Presumably so you know not to join up on our Acquisition defense. :P Interdiction doesn't label either side and only shows the icons for the two PMCs in the match.

"Leading" with us is pretty simple, as we generally know what to do and where to be doing it. The vanilla modes can be played incredibly linearly if things are going your way. Really, drawing Squad Leader only makes you FRAGO bitch. :P Leading in PUBs is a crapshoot. Sometimes you get a guy or two who want to win, and other times you draw a squad of cowards that are afraid to die. Bonus points if they don't actually leave spawn to attack objectives.

With a Sniper heavy build, you'll be tight but you should be able to draw a couple of assault-friendly weapons as well. Level caps out at level sixty, and you'll end up with sixty points to spend. This is a skill point calculator. Use it as a guide to figure out whether or not you'll have the points you want. It doesn't look like the Weapon Stats have been updated since v1.03, but the skill tree hasn't been updated so it should be still valid.

Have you tried using the DLC Sniper rifle (forget the name offhand, it's the tier one gun recoloured with a SVER stamp on the stock) with a foregrip for assaulting (and basically using it like a shitty AK)? A couple of guys have reported success with that.

    ---

It looks like on two of the three Interdiction maps that the road's coming out of the APC spawning area are natural chokepoints that they simply have to come through. I believe it's the Raven-y one that offers two paths out. What this means is if you can get into position you can mine that road and theoretically box the enemy in for some time. As the maps are almost perfectly square, where the redline extends "into" the playing field is the enemy APC spawn point. It'll be behind either A or B, with your Squad spawning on the opposite side.

Best advice get the med kit and resucitate use either the mg or ar. Stick with the largest group of squadies you can and heal/rez when ever you can. When you hit level 10 respec skip rez basic get the advanced rez. you get on average 7 exp when healing and 5 exp for a basic rez and 10 exp for an advanced rez.

Mal's advice is pretty much the way to level quickly. If you're lucky, they're near an objective and you'll double up on that experience.

Sniping is pretty much the worst way to gain experience, but can be invaluable if you're a good shot and communicate well.

Hey guys, you might want to read this. It gives information about gear and silencers:

    http://forums.mag.com/t5/MAG-Discussion/The-Skinny-on-Stealth-Updated-1-06-SJ-blocks-MS/m-p/318850/highlight/true#M278450

It seems that Sensor Jammer now does completely block motion detectors regardless of the speed of your movement.

Silencers also seems worryingly useless at close ranges.

Improved stealth seems to be completely redundant when you have a sensor jammer equipped.

Acoustic locator seems to be pretty beast against Silencers.

Also, apparently sprinting shows you on the opponents map if you have no improved stealth or sensor jammer - even if they have nothing.

EDIT: It seems that Improved Stealth is now pointless as long as you're using a Sensor Jammer.

I have the uneasy feeling that its going to be a mode like Acquisition.(Had a brain fart, and forgot to finish my thought.) When I was on this afternoon there were less people playing Interdiction than any other game type. It may be due to the double XP weekend though. Like you said, at the moment its too hectic and spread out in my opinion.

I'm on the fence of how I feel about it. More so than domination, it requires a squad that communicates and protects the (mobile) bunker. I like the constant ebb and flow of the battle; constantly making realtime adjustments to where the forces need to go, but the maps are just wide open cluster fucks. My favorite map is the SVER themed one. Wide open spaces, but plenty of house to house and cover to cover fighting, plus choke points along the roads.

That map is freaking awesome IMHO. What I like about the open areas is that many fights occur at rifle range. We had a match were the enemy was shooting from cover across an open area and it was an absolute blast; to me it felt more milsim than action game at that moment. I also like that each map has a feel to it, SVER's makes me think of Stalingrad meets Freedom Fighters, Raven's seems very Vietnam like to me and Valor's somehow feels rather WWII European theater and oddly American at the same time. I think it's money well spent.

I just switched to the BR myself and I must say I missed my old friend. Back before 1.03 I managed a 24 kill streak with that little monster using a fore-grip and 4x scope. I'm currently using the same setup and switching to a bi-pod for defensive purposes. By the end of the double XP weekend I'd like to get back to using the 'nade launcher :P

EDIT: I notice that a few people are needing invites. AFAIK everyone is now an officer with magical clantastic invite powers so don't be afraid to ask ;)
