Aw man, that sucked. Lag has killed the game...at least for now.

They also desperately need to pump out a freaking change list. A FULL change list.

I might stick to sabotage for a few days until things get back to normal, cause it was really awful last night. I need to knock out about 40 paratrooper kills anyways, and about 170 total sniper kills. I'll just camp the churchtower in valor sabo again, haha.

I think my shotgun issues were less to do with the patch changes and more to do with lag last night. I had a bunch of new hard lock issues last night too. And the "get stuck in bunker, leave game, return to game, kept stats from game I previously left, get +70XP for one headshot" thing. I figured out the +70 equaled how many kills I had before I had to exit, so that one kill somehow gave me back all my previous kills. Or 14 guys were standing perfectly in line and my tier 3 sniper round traveled through all their brains in a split second.

Directives always gives double exp now. PBC vetted again recently and is already back in the 50s I think. If directives bonus stacks with happy hour it shouldn't be too painful...not that I would argue if you wanted to join up quicker :P

Im level 57 again, within a 2 week period id say, im with piggy on the delete and remake char wagon. Our clan needs more active people the 4 we have now just are not cutting it for me.

Does the PS3 have a cache on the hard drive or something that could be cleaned out? Maybe that would help?

Just not sure why you'd have trouble but other people wouldn't.

Doesn't effect any other game whatsoever. The prior patch (v1.06) seemed to rollback some patch tweaks made between launch and then, and ever since that I've had massive crash issues. A lot of people had the same issues, and v1.07 was supposed to address them. I played three rounds just now, and did only crash out of the first (upon opening my map as SL). It was seemingly better than two days ago where I'd hardlock the first time I attempted to load a match, but it's still too frequent to be anything but frustrating.

I don't think the PS3 has a "defragment"-type option either. I did actually clear up some HD space as I was almost completely filled up on the slight chance it was a "Virtual Memory" type issue but I couldn't perceive any changes.

:P I'm actually hoping my ISP isn't the issue - From launch 'til v1.06 I wasn't getting any more than my "fair share" of bizarre bugs and hard locks. If it is MAG related, there's certainly a fix at some point in time.

if i remember correctly, they said something about another patch realitvly close to this one 2 months or so to 1.08, with that your right they said they worked on the Headshot while looking at CNI problem, its probably taking them this long to correctly identify the issues causing the lock ups then it takes that much longer to fix them, so they found the headshot CNI lockup lets hope they can find the others SOON!

<--- this one must of been hard enough to figure out, seeing as when it happens your always looking at the CNI so on the player side we never had any idea it was due to being shot in the head, i was always assuming just a game F*** up, every dark side has a light

I know people claimed that clearing HDD space worked to avoid Fallout 3 locking. I'm assuming it was because the game was constantly installing (rather than one big install on first load) which could lead to a higher change of fragmenting your drive. Even if this logic is correct I think it's fair to assume that MAG wouldn't suffer the same problem.

On a side note, I wonder if backup/restore leaves the new drive in the same fragmented state or if the restore process is smart enough to group game files together.

Edit: That headshot/CNI thing is incredibly bizarre. I wonder why the different behavior headshot vs body-shot

Today's crash (while looking at the map) was triggered inside our APC on Valor's Domination Map between Bunkers #2 and #3 just after blowing up a couple of road mines. APC couldn't have been at less than 85% health, and I froze on pushing select. Unless both Bunkers fired at the exact same time and I didn't update until I tried to enter the map, there's no way it was due to a death while in the map.

I'm actually thinking some of data may be installed incorrectly and I may just repatch the entire thing, but the horror stories of this patch failing to complete make it hard to do right now, knowing I'm out of town Sunday morning. It's a lose-lose situation, but right now "somewhat playable" is slightly better than "download frozen".

It's not only headshots for the CNI like you say. I've hardlocked while inside the bunker and looking at the CNI, and the bunker didn't explode, no charges set and AA still up

You can go right into the Game data folder and delete mag alltogether, do a re-install off the disc again and then re patch as you've said, perhaps a fix?
Also i had absolutly no patch problems, Obviously got the orignal error of cannot find servers but thats because they were turned "Off" so of course the game cannot find them until turned back "On"

Honestly i beleive that Zipper and Sony just had a schedualing conflict, Zipper released the patch at different time zones but Sony only wanted to do "One" server restart so they waited for the patch to be released in all time zones THEN did the restart. makes scence sony wise.

To spice things up a bit today I played a game of "Play the craziest build You can think of". Here's what I can up with:

    ag-94-> 4x sight, bipod
    grenades
    flash bangs
    self med kit
    medium armor

I thought it was going to suck pretty hard, until I actually played it the first time on the raven dom map. It turned out to be totally awesome though. I racked up like 30+ assists using the flashbangs and air strikes. On one raven spawn wave, I got like 8-10 assists as I flashed them all when they came into C. They 4 of us holding it promptly slaughter them all. The ar+bipod combo is pretty great too. With the bipod set up, it's like using the tier 1 sniper, except you can spray full auto with no recoil.

Edit: I encourage every to play that game really. We can then find out some awesome builds.

Double edit: Also, flash bangs give gray hash marks when they hit enemies.

I still havn't done my time in valor and loathed my time in Raven. Though as of late the last few games I've played the sver community has been compleatly abysmal. Think all the players that knew what was going on left for the other factions and all the people that cried sver is op came here.

So yeah I guess if we are to vet out of Sver I vote valor but I'd probly be in the minority.
