All of my family except me are really short. I mean real hobbit-short.
All of my wife's family are Japanese and really really tall. My brother-in-law is 6'3". My wife is 5'11".
My uncle was deeply aggrieved about this when the clans met.
Most of my family on my mother's side range from 5'7" to 6'4". My mom's 5'3/4". Then on my dad's side, it's 5'8" to 6', with most of the women being under 5'3", outside of my aunt who's 5'8". I always tease Grandma about my being the tallest girl and her being the shortest girl on the Jones side.
it's time to chop off some legs here. won't be so tall in your chair. also no prostheses

1.75m is the UK average, which seems to be a little below the US average. We must have a secret supply of shorties skewing the average somewhere as that seems a bit short.

when i am standing on a crowded corner in tel aviv or new york city, and i look around, most of the dozens of guys surrounding me are perceptibly shorter

I'm kinda curious as to the distributon there, because subconsciously I think of any woman below 6 ft as vaguley short. I'm guessing this is fairly off. Isn't the average like 5 ft 6?

Average is 5'10" but everyone seems to think it's 6'.
The girl wears insane heels all of the time to make up for being short. Thankfully I'm 190.5 cm tall, so that's not really an issue.
