Well, I've mainly been messing around with Guy the last couple days, here are my issues:
1. His target combo is the only combo I know but it's worthless against crouching opponents. What's a good blockstring that will catch crouchers?
2. His izuna drop (air grab) is rad-looking but it seems much more strict on the timing/position vs. normal air grabs so I'm whiffing it a lot. Should I just give this up?
3. I played a Guile last night and I could not get in on him for the life of me. Help?
1. In addition to strings beginning with c.LP, I hear his standing MP can hit crouched opponents, and I believe there are a number of things that can combo off of it.
2. From what I'm reading you don't want to think of the Izuna Drop as an air grab. Try to hit people who're on the ground with it, and if they start to jump the air grab properties are just a bonus
2b. But don't forget his dedicated air throw with QCF+punch. You can even do an instant air throw by doing 2369+P and catch people jumping in on you.
3. The SRK forums are saying Guile is his toughest matchup. I haven't played against him with Guy yet myself, but I think I'll try approaching with jumps ended with an elbow drop to counter the floatiness of his jumps, really quick QCF+LK, K dashes, and some use of elbow bashes to duck past sonic booms.
Thanks for the tips (you too Kinder), but when I say "izuna drop" I'm referring to his QCF+P air grab, not his flip into grab. Last night I was able to correctly predict when my opponent would jump, so I would jump and try to izuna drop them but I was whiffing it a lot.

I could be wrong but I think the flip into grab is labelled as izuna drop, while the air grab is just called his air throw or izuna otoshi.
Whatever you call it, definitely give the tiger-knee motion instant air grab a try. I'm still learning when and where to bust it out, but it's awesome when it connects.
so I was happy in my little world of Guy and Cody until I load up Guile in training and take a look at the ole' moveset and see that he can replicate CSI Miami moments on demand
and the move that enables this is called "shades of glory"?
I lose to Cammy this way too. When is SHE vulnerable if they're spamming specials?
Down block -> Punish. Almost all of Cammy's moves are punishable off block. She has faster startup on moves than almost all other characters, so unless you have lag advantage, you won't be able to snuff out moves, just block and punish. If you down block, she has no overhead which takes away like 99% of her game.

No, it does not. Down-back does not beat cammy in any way, shape or form

Yeah, truth. I've switched from Ryu to Makoto in this version, brother plays Cammy. Good lord I am getting stomped. I am having a very difficult time with her. My execution is terrible which doesn't help either.
P.S. What's a good/simple BnB combo for Makoto I can work on?

down-back beats everything cammy except for throws and normal jump moves.
maybe you're not holding down back hard enough?
Stig speaks truth. Has played Cammy longer and harder than me. :winky:
Down back may not beat on her, as it is not an attack move, but it will provide you with massive openings.

What does cammy have to make you fear blocking low? Throw? She has NO overhead. You can literally just block and punish. Her spiral arrow looks more active than it is, you can hit her while she's twirling after the hit. It will only hit twice if the heavy kick is done super close. You can hit her really hard after a blocked spiral, she's vulnerable all day.

Good games! That was really smooth for an international match : D And I'm not sure you ever missed grab into ultra with Makoto. I am envious! I've only ever hit it like one time : (
I think I was finally doing Ibuki's kunai stuff semi-right but I still don't really have any idea.
But Dudley is really growing on me. I think my final roster of new characters will be Cody, Juri, and Dudley.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Mostly because so few people know it. after the hit, just calmly stop blocking and any Cammy player will abruptly crap their pants...

afer a block or straight on?

Straight on during the start up animation it seems.
I did it twice but I need to test it.
You should be able to, his down leg is out during startup I am pretty sure, you if you can get that hitbox
Frosteey I am afraid to play your Rose now.
Wut does dis mean?
I have no idea.
what the hell does that even mean?
I think it means hitting someone with a focus attack for the KO right as they are standing up. I have four and that is all I could think of.
It's a free t-shirt you can put on your Avatar on Playstation Home
I think it refers to matches won by chip damage.
If you keep doing 800 squats a day you'll end up like Chun-Li. Do you really want that?
Your Sakura terrifies me.
So I just googled it.
and this thread is the second result.
Maybe it's if you win with chip damage? I'm pretty sure that's where my one Cheap Win comes from.
Here comes the mix-up... guessed wrong *goes and makes a sandwich*
oh look I'm dizzied *goes and makes a sandwich*
Sakura's making me fat!

Almost every Juri I play is pinwheel kick city. These random people are making me think less of the character!
what's the key? when is she vulnerable if my opponent is spamming special moves?

i've found a new main
My bad.
Tangent, then, so I can bitch as well.
Replays don't save player names?!
PSN: Bizazedo
CFN: Bizazedo (I don't think I suck, add me).
Don't blame them...her other moves aren't that great.

Goddamn I need to hit training mode soon. Can't land a bushin combo or anything from makoto for shit. Doesn't help that it's 4:30 am here.
Fun times though. Need to hit training mode at least once

Edit: In the third one I wouldn't do HP hayate. It's stricter timing and I don't see any benefit. They all do the same damage I believe.
