testicles AKA source of anxiety! [Solved]

Recently I noticed an abnormality on my left testicle (the smaller of the two, but only in the normal sense). Upon closer inspection, it wasn't so much a lump as much as what I think may be a vein.
I'll certainly be making a trip to the doctor in the morning, but I was just curious as to whether it's likely to have vein's around your testicle? I've done one unit of anatomy, but don't recall anything of this sort. It's maybe 1.5cm in length from the inside of the left testicle up to the base of my penis, where it sort of disappears.

I suspect it's a vein because a) fuck testicular cancer, that would be unfortunate. b) I can only feel it when I have hot showers. So i guess it's coming up out of my testicle because it's too hot and that's just the nature of our bodies etc. I'm pretty confident it couldn't be angiogenesis or something like that right?
Admittedly I am sort of anxious about this, so I'm just looking for possibilities other than a cancerous tumor, just to get me through the night.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: If anyone uses thread search because they have a similar problem and come across this - don't panic, it's most likely normal.

    it's probably just that, a vein/whatever

your ballsack and penis have a lot of those

go to a doctor if you feel you need to, but I'm going to think he'll say it's normal

uh that region of your body is incredibly vascular

my wiki-fu has returned only this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varicocele

but I'm thinking its your vascular space expanding due to the heat. hope this helps. Enjoy playing with your balls!

I have done the exact same thing as you my friend, gone to the doctor for this I mean. I got really panicky about things when I was younger.

Anyway, it is where the spermatic cord meets the testicles, it's how them sperms travel up to where they lie and wait until its gogo-time. Its supposed to be like that. I mean, it might be the Variocele stuff described above as well, I just never heard of it.

    tldr: You'll be fine.

Could also be a Cyst. They're more common in women, but not impossible in the male organs. I had one of those, which burst, and freaked me out a little at the time. They're usually benign, but you want to get them checked out just in case they're obstructing blood flow.
Usually, the procedure is to get an ultrasound if the doctor thinks there is anything warranting a closer look. That said, there's no point in actually worrying about what it could be, until you know for certain. Doing otherwise is just going to be bad for your health and self-esteem :)

Is it on the backside of the testicle? Squishy? Its probably you're epididymis

Scared the hell out of me when I first found it too.

Went through the EXACT same thing. I even went so far as to have an ultrasound done. I'll tell you, when the results came back negative, I haven't slept so well in years. Nothing like a testicular cancer scare when you're 28 to keep you up at night. Kudos to you for having the balls (pun intended) to go to the doctor about it. I'd still go even if this thread convinces you it's nothing to worry about. Because well, you just never know.
