Anyone elses doing this???
Yeah It means you have a message you haven't read.
Go to your message board and read it. It may be 3 weeks old....
I'm sure the slot glows when it's downloading updates, so leave it be for now.
EDIT: ^ I see

It's been so long since I've posted here, I've removed my signature since most of what I had here were broken links. Shows over, you can carry on to the next post.
I love that pulsating. Nintendo Wii begins learning at a geometric rate.
In any event, this means you either have a message (possibly from Nintendo concerning an update) or it's downloading an update.
Also check your Wii settings, it's possible to have it on and/or pulsating at all times or whenever it's hooked up to your connection at all, regardless of activity.
Neo Rasa on

What's this downloading updates talk? I have to manually download updates on mine. Did I miss an option to do it automatically?
No you did not, but supposedly in the near future if you have Wii Connect 24 enabled it will do this automatically. I thought perhaps this occurred already.

It's radioactive and highly dangerous
You'd better find an anti-radiation suit and shut that son of a bitch down immediately before the glowing stops
Because that means it's acquired sentience, and most Wiis decide pretty quickly that the human race is inferior and so will try to kill you
Most likely by shooting a disc directly at your neck at the speed of sound for a quick decapitation
Not my Wii, though
After becoming sentient it found that it mostly likes to kick back and chill
