Hey guys, I have checked out this thread. I am Adam from U.S. Challenge Coins... (snip)

    A challenger approaches!

But that's not why I came here to post. Perhaps we could organize a brief meet-up during PAX of those who ordered coins so that A) We could all thank Papaprinny in person and B)... actually, I don't have a B. Take a picture, perhaps?

If we could get even one coin in time for a group picture, it would make as memorable a keepsake as the coin itself. This whole endeavor has been a testament to the collective power of PAX goers, from the initial organization of the die casting to the design to now. I wish I was more active in the thread before but since I had resigned myself to being too poor to afford one, I kinda just cast it aside.

Anywho, I'm just throwing ideas out. Feedback?

I like the idea, I personally wouldnt mind thanking everyone who took part in the idea!

as for the meet up... i think we should pick one of the most popular events and then whoever is the furthest up in line "saves" our place then we all rally around them for photos >.> and then proceed to event ~_^

Hey guys, I have checked out this thread. I am Adam from U.S. Challenge Coins and we can make your deadline. We do accept Paypal from individuals and we will even ship the coin out to individuals if needed. The coin we seen would be about $2 or so each if we made them. You guys can checkout our stuff at http://www.uschallengecoins.com if you want. I would hate to see the coin go to waste when we still have a chance at getting it done. Let me know and if we can get the coin into production asap then we can get everyone a coin quickly.

Thanks for the offer, but my first thought is, wouldn't there be some legal issues? Since the final posted designs are by NWTM's artists it seems like there'd be problems just taking their design to make the coins.

Is it your design or theirs? People switch companies all the time. The majority of people that have coins made usually take artwork from another company and have us make them. It's your right to shop around, but in the end who's artwork is it? If it's your design then you own it, not them just because they illustrated it, and besides we are going to re-illustrate it before it goes to mint so we don't use their artwork.

I only entered in because I would hate to see a coin not get made because of a time schedule. We can produce coins in 7-12 days and shipped over night to meet almost all deadlines. We do hundreds of orders per month so this shouldn't be a problem. I just want to help so if I can please don't hesitate to let me know.

Same here... minus the Jason/Jay part. I paid up on Thursday night, but I don't see David E listed (unless I am down as something else).

yea, I see a Jason B, and its a common misconception that my name is short for Jason.

I sent you a PM, ZeroHourHero. I believe I have you on there, I just need you to verify whether the name and shipping address are familiar to you.

By the way... you will definitely meet me at the Pre-PAX Dinner. If they end up accepting non-paying people to come in and hang out, you'll definitely be able to find me there. I'll likely be wearing a bunch of camera gear, as I and a few others in my crew plan to cover the Tri-Wizard Drinking Tournament for the Community DVD. I'll be wearing (and exchanging) buttons with my prinny avatar on it. I might also be wearing a black Unofficial PAX Community DVD shirt.

Here, this might help. Won't be wearing the Minish Cap, though:

USCC seems like a pretty reputable company and they have a GSA (Government Supply Agency) number and looks like nice quality work. Might want to put them on the list for next year.

Kind of late in the game this year with them already being ordered. :)

Bit harsh towards a guy that seemed like he was trying to be helpful, regardless of profit motive, especially given the issues you've been having with the current manufacturer. Site doesn't appear to be a scammer or anything.

We already paid NWTM $300. USCC wasn't trying to be helpful. They were trying to be opportunists.

I'm going to stick this one out, no cancellation for me. We'll see if I get the coins before PAX. If I do manage to get coins before PAX and some of the other people who bought for PA don't, then I'll see what I can about helping them out (since I am getting a few extra coins). I think most of the people who bought for the PA and related guys really want to give the coins in person if possible.

It's not a big deal if we don't get them in time though in retrospect if we knew we wouldn't get them in time, we (especially papaprinny (thanks again!)) could've gone through the process with much less stress.

Papaprinny, I'm on the west coast so I should be getting my coins on the 1st, but just in case want to add me to the PM list so I can mail Mike's?

Also, did anyone wind up covering Dave? That would kind of suck if he was the only person that didn't get a coin.

    Erik A 1
    Mathew M 1
    Aaron G 2

    12 coins ordered

    Corrected coin fund total: $90.37

Attention Excel gurus: I would like to ask for your assistance.
Without modifying the formulas, please try to uncover errata in this document (i.e., break it!).
    http://www.paxcommunitydvd.net/public/PAX%20Prime%202010%20Challenge%20Coins%20orders%208-17-2010_4%20info%20redacted.xls
Please read the cell contents of the top row for information on how to use the document. If you have questions, please let me know.

Getting one of the cells to say "ERROR! etc etc" does not constitute production of errata. These are error-handling statements that I wrote in the formulas.
Essentially I want you to try and make the numbers come out wrong. I would also like for you to check my logic. I'm pretty sure I have it down, but if not, I need to know.

    Thanks!

    So I have an update...
Because NWTM has been keeping up with this thread, they have perceived a disappointment with the original shipping projection. According to Darrell, they are trying to get things moving quickly on shipping the coins out, and can start shipping by the 26th. He also projects that it will take 2-3 business days for coins to arrive at most places. So by the 1st, many of us may well have our coins after all. If so, I hope to see some around PAX, and especially at the drinking tournament.

I hope it follows from the above post that I have placed some orders. The first two posts I put up with coin requests have been sent to NWTM. The third post of orders will be given to NWTM after I have received the money from Paypal.

It works just like getting one in the US, but you have to pay for international shipping. I don't think an amount for that has been finalized yet.

Thanks again papaprinny for keeping everyone informed and always checking the status, I think you are going above and beyond my expectations to make sure everyone is happy, which is awesome - either way if the coin comes before or after I leave for PAX I wouldn't mind. Just think it is awesome you are keeping up with all of this and have been setting it up.

I would say try and relax a bit now that PAX is creeping up on us closer, but probably won't listen. Don't worry though, don't think you'll disappoint anyone. Like someone said before, definitely deserve some free drinks and even food there.
