Santa, right now I'm slogging away through Force Unleashed in the hardest difficulty...I'm not sure how you managed that with your sanity in tact, as I constantly have to shut it off to cool off a bit due to the cheapness of the enemies.
I dread doing the Star Destroyer bit on that difficulty.

Actually, it wasn't too bad on Sith Master. The Star Destroyer was actually easier than the first time because I'd finally gotten comfortable with the shitty targeting system. Once I was able to easily grab the fighters and throw them into each other, it freed up time to pull it down. It still sucked, though.
The worst bit was fighting those five nozzles near the end in the Death Star. They were really cheap. But what I really hated was the kill grinding.
Finally got around to finishing the LEGO Indiana Jones grind last night, so there is another S-rank. I have about three games that I lack one achievement in to finish out. War for Cybertron is one of them, which I popped in last night to continue getting the hidden symbols. On a whim, I logged into the multiplayer lobby to see how many people were on and good gravy that game is dead. Really glad I muscled through those multiplayer achievements when the getting was good.
Hmm, my gamerscore is displaying at 10g higher than it should. I double checked and everything. Not a big deal, just weird.
Edit: Huh, on xbox.com, it says I have 10g more in Reach than it shows on my XBox. Still weird.
I was thinking of picking up Def Jam Rapstar because I love the song selection. Looking at the achievement list, I see you need a Live Vision camera to get a bunch of them. Boooo....

My score in Reach was actually lower on my box than on the site. It could just be some desynch? I'll have to look again. But it's good that it wasn't just me.
edit: not good, but uh... I don't know.

That happened with Alan Wake, too. It showed two different numbers for the gamerscore. Recovering the gamertag fixed it up. Just make sure you connect to XBL first so you don't lose any achievements you might've unlocked offline.

That's what I figured; that recovering my gamertag would fix it. The weirdest part has to be that, though it had 10g missing from Reach on the console, the total gamerscore number was still correct.
Okay. What is this bullshit about not being able to get the chicken suit anymore from fable2.com? I can't get pass the age gate and apparently this has been a problem for a long time now. Some of these achievements are already pretty dumb, but this one takes the cake. It's pretty much impossible unless I can find someone who'd be willing to let me borrow it to just kick some fucking chickens.

Some vendors also sell the chicken suit , check the bowerstone clothes merchant .

I just wanted the Completionist achievement in Fable2, but I'm not buying any DLC or that Arcade game to get it.

I just got past the age verifier just fine, so I don't know what's up with that. Anyway, I don't think it can be bought in Bowerstone. I think it's that small village where you find Hammer and the Temple of Light.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West has provided me with my ninth Platinum Trophy.
Not a difficult Platinum to get with the exception of the trophy for finding all of the Tech Orbs hidden throughout the levels. Some of them were so well hidden that they were a bastard to find even with the aid of a guide.
Hair-pulling frustration at digging out those last few hidden orbs aside, it was an enjoyable game.
Now I only need one more Platinum Trophy to hit double digits. I wonder what game will get the honour?

I ended up solving the age gate problem (flash caches the response and you have to clear it to re-input your age). I also didn't realize it was asking for it in DD/MM/YYYY format so the error it gave me should have been invalid instead of not being old enough.
Dules of the Planeswalkers is apparently not going to give me my 100% completion achievement no matter what arcane process of deleting expansion packs, redownloading expansion packs and recovering my tag I try from various googled up forum posts.
I'm having to try very hard to remind myself I'm supposed to not really care about the stupid things at the moment.
I just thought that it would be nice to have one game in my fully completed tab, was that too much to ask for?

If the answer isn't "Demon's Souls" or "I've already platted Demon's Souls" you're doing it wrong.

I only have to grind that silly 125000 shots in Comic Jumper to be currently done. Then I have to wait till they patch the game so that the "He aint even married" achievement is no longer bugged.

How is it bugged? More importantly, where are you supposed to get it?

Benny. The drill boss in the silver age. Achievement doesn't bleep bloop when you get it.
For the 125,000 I booted up the game, played the first level until just after the bank. Watched SportsCenter while holding the trigger down.

Deleting expansion packs didn't work for me either. I only got it when I:
i) unlocked all the cards.
ii) completed all the single-player campaigns
iii) completed the co-op campaigns
iv) did all the puzzles
I think that's it. I tried deleting the second expansion when I had 100% for the original game and the first expansion. The game showed 100% but nothing popped. It only unlocked when I did the second expansions stuff.
Also this stupid game has got me back into playing paper Magic. I had forgot how insanely addictive it is.

Success! After reinstalling the 1st expansion and 100%ing that, it decided to bing this time. I really enjoy Duels but a month or so hanging with the Magic Online crowd showed I could never really get into the full game. The time/money/effort commitment in staying competitive in a forever changing field is just too much for me. It might be different if I actually had some physical opponents and cards I suppose. At least with Duels I know I'm guaranteed to at least have a chance of beating anyone I play.
Now I only need one more Platinum Trophy to hit double digits. I wonder what game will get the honour?
If the answer isn't "Demon's Souls" or "I've already platted Demon's Souls" you're doing it wrong.
I'm afraid that I long ago determined that Demon's Souls simply wasn't a game for me. I just couldn't get enthusiastic about it.
As for the game that received the honour of pushing my Platinum Trophies into double digits... the winner was Tomb Raider: Underworld.
A very pretty game with horrendously bad controls. I honestly can't remember the last game I played where it was so easy to jump to your death unless you spent a while lining a jump up perfectly. Fortunately it's an easy game, so even the awful controls weren't a barrier to getting the Platinum.
I got all 200 points out of Costume Quest in a single day, if anyone is looking for a game to easily boost their GS with that is also actually a good game.
anyways who's fucking idea was it in the original DJ Hero to make achievements specifically tied to LOCAL MULTIPLAYER which involves me having two of these damn turntables
I mean I ultimately plan on getting the DJ Hero 2 bundle with another but still what the fuck
So I haven't looked or posted in the achievement thread since the last one, and in it I commented on how bullshit the achievements were for Bikini Samurai Squad, a stupid game that should not be as difficult to 1000 as it is. Well I took a long break from that game and now it has happened. I am finally on my way to 1000'ing that stupid game. I am the bikini expert. I have completed every mission except the last survival one and then I have to beat the game 3 more times on harder difficulties. I am not letting this horrible game defeat me!
Watching the speedrun for Bikini Samurai Squad (Wii version) made me feel GAME DESIGN RAGE.
Oh yeah I just remembered I got glitched out of my 100% on Tales of Vesperia...I'm missing the one for synthesizing 10 items because I did it in a lump instead of one by one.
BSS is trying to destroy my TV. After finishing survival mode I noticed a bunch of red lines on the loading screen. I switched to cable and they were still there. Then I got in real close and noticed something astonishing. The red lines I thought were squiggles actually spelled out the word "Aya". Yes, BSS actually caused burn-in on my LCD TV, which technically I don't think is even possible, because the life bar and name never moves. Oddly the health squares did not stick..... I'm trying to destroy it with colors by using the 360 visualizer and it seems to be working pretty well as all I can really see is a bit of the portrait picture and the first A now. Just let it be known that BSS is such an asshole of a game that to prevent me from 1000'ing it it is trying to destroy the very TV that plays it.

So, the game did defeat you. And your TV.
Edit: also, burnin on LCDs is very possible, although rare. It's not permanent though. Keep doing what you're doing or switch to displaying a static or white screen. The pixel memory will eventually revert to its natural state.
The hell it did, I'll just be playing in 30 minute spurts now. I'm pretty sure this was a fluke and just has to do with that one part of my TV. I don't have anything else I can think of that puts my lifebar in that corner so I think I'll be fine. If it happens again but on a different part of the screen then I think I have a much bigger problem.
And yeah, everything I found says it's temporary. The weird thing is that I didn't play the game for very long. I was only doing survival mode for an hour and a half. However last night I did a ton of missions and went through basically the entire game again and I mostly used one character. In addition I did survival mode with that same character up to the 36th round and that takes about 50 minutes. I probably played for about 3 hours total. No persistent pixel memory. So why this happened now I have absolutely no clue. That's why I'm hoping it was a fluke.

I read somewhere that pixels can just become stuck on a permenent colour out of nowhere, even after minimal use. I've heard stories about massaging pixels back to life too. TVs be trippin.
i'm a hundred points away from 60k. i just picked up bioshock 2 and SSFIV off amazon and was able to get the free fable 2 last weekend. so i just gotta get the hundred.
anyone, how are the achievements on fable II, and the online achievements on bioshock 2?
You can get all the achievements in Fable 2 by yourself so long as you get the DLC. (The XBLA Pub Games can assist with the base 1000, but if you're going for the full 1350, just stick with the DLC. The gambling games suck and money is dead easy to get whilst playing.) There are a couple of fairly easy co-op achievements, so you will need a little help. And then there's Dollcatcher...
Basically, when you play, you get two dolls. One is called the Hero doll, the other will be randomly selected amongst five other in-game characters. And you can only earn it once in one location. To unlock one stupid 10 point achievement you have to get them all.
And the only way to do it is to trade with other people who has one you don't.
Or join with somebody who has them all and they can quickly unlock it at a shop.
I admire the attempt at having a genuine community builder achievement. But that shit is pure stupid paste spread on an idiot cracker. Never, never, never, ever make an achievement that relies on a robust and consistent online presence. Such as online achievements that require Ranked play on a three yard elf game you picked up in the bargain bin.
I plan to work on C-to-Shining-C, too, but I don't think that will be nearly as frustrating. I want to learn all the characters, and it's essentially grinding anyway, methinks. Won't be the end of the goddamn world when you're matched up against a Ken player who does nothing but standing medium kicks.
