I've screwed myself into a corner with The Saboteur, trying to get that "save 40 civilians" achievement. There aren't a whole lot of grey areas left on my map, and most of the Nazis in those areas seem content to just stroll around and look at me funny for climbing ledges.
Also worth noting is that civilian events always happen at the same locations, so when you find one, make sure to come back after a little while and there's a chance you'll find another one happening at the same spot. Making a route that hits three such spots and following it should net you at least one saved civilian per loop.
This worked a treat, I had a grey area in Zone 3 still, just ran round that for a while.
Now I just need to clear a few more freeplay targets. Don't know if I can be bothered with the Casanova achievement and the races though.

As for the Casanova achievement, that's another easy one.
Head over to the church in Montmartre that's North East of the Belle - the one where you meet Father Denis for the mission where you have to drive him when he wants to deliver a package to the Gestapo HQ. There's a girl on the steps directly south of the church and there's always a Nazi lurking around those steps as well. Use said Nazi on the steps to get the alarm then kill him and get to the girl before any other Nazi's get there.
He'll respawn pretty quickly, so it's easy to farm out the achievement in a relatively short period of time.
I finally sat down and bothered to finish getting all the achievements in Dead Space. Only had pack rat and the maximum upgrade achievement to do. Didn't take me very long on my round 3 impossible save to do though, considering I only had to finish off the line gun and the ripper. Now to finish the achievements in Dead Space 2!
I've been knocking out the achievements for Dead Space 2, all but one left (the hardcore run). I'm not sure I have the skill or patience required for it, considering I died at least once in each room towards the end of the Zealot run. Don't think I could handle having to replay 1-2 hours each time I got horrifically murdered.
Man. Still trying to clean up Oblivion. Long game is long, but I'm just down to the main quest achievements.
The really hard part about the Hardcore runs in Dead Space 2 are the QTEs and other special sequences...
Maybe I'm terrible but I kept having a bitch of a time trying to beat the upside-down sequence on HC. I've still got a save before the first tripod but every time I think about doing it I just shudder and play something else. It's similar to the DMC4 bloody palace achievement: if the gameplay by design sets you back over an hour for every failure, how can anyone call it fun?
It's definitely a run that you need to take breaks on, even without saving. I know when I was doing it as soon as I started to get that yea, I'm going to die right about now sensation, I put the controller down for a bit. When you cross into the threshold of being a marathoner and not having fun, then it easily becomes work.
The sheer amount of avoidable stupidity involved in my deaths during my hardcore run really tried my patience. But with short breaks (which you should be taking anyway :P), I got through it.

What's driving me bonkers is that I know I am better at the game than this but I kept screwing up on HC in places I breezed through on Zealot. I'm pretty sure it's the clean start throwing me off because I keep using tactics that worked with upgraded weapons and money to burn. Not so much with dainty New Game Isaac and his empty wallet. That said I do want to give it a legitimate try before summer's over - it's an achievement I'd be proud to get.
Any Two Worlds 2 players? Everyone I run into is a modder and I need to win 5 duels, 5 deathmatches, and 5 crystal thingies. I'm sitting at 970/1000 right now thanks to cheating cockpenises.
Does anyone wanna do that halo 3 achievement for beating the last level on legendary with everybody in ghosts?
I'm definitely game if we can find two others. I still have to work on all of the Vidmaster stuff.

I have to finish hardcore in DS2. I am proud of the fact I got to chapter 10 before my first save.
My god, that was some nerve wracking moments in that. I just kept playing and playing, each time thinking "No, I won't save here and I can keep going". I yelled so loud when I did get to chapter 10 and saved that I woke my wife up!

Redundancy ftw.
I'd be down for getting those cheesed. Need two teams of two to cheese deathmatch, but the duel and crystal capture can be done with just two people apparently.

I'm sure we can organise a decent time if you pop over to the Halo thread. I'd be willing to do Annual again, been a while since I've done that.
Allow two hours of uninterrupted time, though, because you're only as good as the worst guy on your team. The real challenge of this is that as soon as one person dies, everyone goes back to the previous checkpoint, so the most important thing is to stay alive - in normal co-op, you can blast in for attempted heroics and it doesn't matter if you fuck up because you can spawn back in. With Iron on, that exact situation will just mean frustration after frustration.
It's also some of the most hialrious fun I've ever had in a videogame, though. I'm totally down for it.

I've been playing Star Ocean TLH again and man, I only had 5 achievements after 28 hours of playing? Jesus. Must be a flood of them on finishing the game.

Are you playing the 360 version? Knowing about the soft checkpoint at the beginning of Disc 2 is all that's keeping me motivated to try this.

Yeah I am playing the 360 version of the game. I am not sure what you are meaning with "soft checkpoint". I still have 2 of my 3 saves remaining (at least that I know of!).

Well yes, that is the version I have but I just had no idea that was even a thing. That makes hardcore on the 360 so much easier, because that's a huge chunk of the game to get out of the way without needing to use a save. If you can get there and then push on another 4 chapters, you have the entire thing made. If I had known about that getting where I did would have felt a whole lot less stressful I can tell you now!

eh, not really. if you power off the game/etc then it's gone, and there's a larger chunk of the game remaining. Chapters 1-6 were what, an hour and a half of work?

Yeah I know that, but starting with most of my stuff from that point and deep into the game without repeating the god damn beginning (seriously, that unskippable starting cutscene can fuck itself) is a godsend. That's more than reasonable enough IMO.
I picked it up during a XBLA sale a fair while back, played about halfway through then dropped it for some reason that I can no longer remember. Finally decided to go back to it and figured I'd get all the achievements for it as well. Grinding out 'Serious Complex' was a long and boring task, but the rest of it was was an absolute blast.
A great little game that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who'd listen.

But if we can get six people above level 5, we can probably get everybody to level up a bunch.

The races aren't that difficult and there are only three of them as I recall. In fact, if you approach the start line on foot, you can apparently car-jack all the other drivers and then run the race uncontested.

Oblivion is done. That was nagging me for a while.
What donuts said. It's only applicable for the 360 version because it's the only one that has to switch discs.

And are we going to try and do ACB this weekend?
