Webcam Woes

Ok so ive been watching YouTube videos for like, 3 months now. It seems like a pretty fun yet public activity for someone so full of himself (although admittedly ugly, i mean ugly as fuck) so i went out today to get a webcam.

I say one for a tenner, so i thought it would be shit so i opted for the 20 quid Creative LiveCam Vista IM. For 20 quid im not expecting Hollywood but the video looks like a freaking slideshow.

The camera has a limit of 30 Fps, which im guessing is bad, but not totally shit. Im using windows movie maker and messing around, but no matter what i do it looks so so bad.

I used it to talk to a friend on MSN messenger who has the EXACT same camera (Which led me to get it in the first place) and on messenger his camera looks great. The cameras are exactly the same. Even when i look at my own screen in large mode on messenger its great, exactly what i wanted.

So what am i doing wrong here? Is there a better method of movie making than windows movie maker?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    30 FPS shit?

You do know the movies at your local cinemaplex are projected (and for the most part captured) at 24 fps?

A screenshot of your capture settings in Window movie maker might help.

I was guessing due to games running at 60 Fps being standard 30 would be kinda bad. Heres a screenie of what im guessing is the specifics you need, if you need anything else tell me.

Oh yeah just to add, the pic shows 15fps, reducing the video size by half doubles the fps, which is what i have been doing.
