I'm studying for my CDL written (w/ Passenger endorsement) and I am wondering if the questions in the book ( http://www.ncdot.org/DMV/driver_services/commercialtrucking/cdlhandbook/download/CDLmanual.pdf ) are all of the questions on the test, or are they more sample questions which will have similar ones on the written test? How many questions is the actual test?
I've got to rush and take this test and get the driving test passed asap so I can drive a small passenger bus by the end of June. Oy.

I'm not from NC, but I'm willing to bet that you get to take it and fail a couple times before they impose a real penalty on you. If the fee isn't prohibitive, go ahead and take the test. That'll give you a pretty good idea of what the questions are like and how many there are. Additionally, it'll give you an idea of what the testing environment is like, how much time you have and etc.
And then there's a good chance you'll pass and not have to worry about it.
But, generally, driving tests usually have about 20 questions taken from all of the pertinent information in the driving manual. Usually the sample questions are a good indicator of what the actual test questions will be.
Actually, my selective illiteracy has kicked in and Ijust noticed its for a CDL license for a bus. In that case, there might be a little more to it.
I got my CDL in Illinois so ymmv, but here the test is about 20 questions randomly pulled from a pool of 150 or so (tests are all taken on a computer at the secretary of state).

i got my CDL B in Florida
it was information straight from the book plus a few pre-written scenarios using basic information from the book and basic logic
In Florida, you have to take a separate test for the basic CDL B plus an extra test for all restriction eliminations and endorsements. The Main test was like 80ish questions, and the passenger endorsement test was about another 20
the passenger test was all from info from the book.
