Ok so I know most of you guys avoid GnT like the plague, but I like to venture up there every so often to see how bad my old neighborhood has gotten, and I just found this. Possibly some of the worst news I have heard in a while.
While rumors (stemming from EGM) circulated last week regarding a possible '80s edition of Guitar Hero, an anonymous industry source tipped off GameDaily BIZ that development on the next Guitar Hero may be switching hands from Harmonix to Neversoft, known primarily for its Tony Hawk games.
Now, however, there's no denying it. The Neversoft website is literally split down the middle between Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's Project 8, as Neversoft is apparently hiring for both franchises currently. (If for some reason the site is not working or has been changed, check out the screen grab below as evidence.)
you don't make me shoot guys for three hours and then just expect me to accomodate for the game dynamics you don't explain or introduce until the last battle of your game

i kind of liked gun until i realized the last boss was complete bullshit
I fealt the same way about Beyond Good and Evil. The game as a whole was really fun, but then the final boss was just memorization of what buttons to push when. And reversing all the movement controls? Fuck that.

Damn your speedy fingers!

And Blink 182 was in Amplitude...
Well fuck that then.
However, does anyone else feel like the screen is still moving after you've just gotten done jamming?
ROBIN FALLS
WHO KNEW
What?
well its supposed to be 80s, so they can't mess it up too much.
right? right?
Or Great White songs.
Not GH3, but 2.
But, like... does anyone kind of daze off and stare at the screen and it seems like it's still rolling towards/away from you?
Yes
and with Amplitude it does that to me as well
I don't see myself getting too bored with the Guitar Hero formula. So long as they stick to it and do it decently.
Didn't they do that other game with the vampire western?
What was it called...
Darkwatch?
Yeah.
Talk about beating cliches with dead horses.

Are you saying that GH 80's went to Neversoft and III is still with the others? Or is it too late and my mind is mushing these words together?

EDIT: Once you get down the basic idea of the fight.
And here I thought I was the only person who thought that.
That pretty much killed the game for me.
And when its bad its mostly because of activision
neversoft is really a pretty rad company
Well when it's bad it's mostly because we've all 'been there done that' and the games get pretty easy once you're a skating God.
It's not so much the "Whoa dude raaad" attitude that is so hideous.
That and the minigames are not what you want out of a skating game.
It's skateboarding, not shopping cart racing. Fuck that.
And maybe I can e-mail a picture of my face to use in the game.
I would actually like to have the option of creating my rocker... despite your sarcasm.
Oh, I forgot about that.
That was Neversoft?
Hm. I'm thinking Knob (as usual) could be right.
I don't have a problem with creatable characters, I just dislike being forced to make one before playing.
