I find the pig less useful this time around partially because they use different music for the pig, and partially because there is a very obvious visual cue when the meat goes from rare to well done now, and once I caught onto that it was stupidly easy to mass produce well done steak.

The visual cues in the other games weren't obvious? Going from brown to dark brown was obvious enough for me.

It was difficult to see on a PSP 1000 screen, but you also had Gourmet Spits in Freedom 2/Unite, which made it much easier to make steak.

Of course, they also had it so that you could just have your Felyne Chefs do the cooking for you, which I loved. And miss.

I always got random results from the felyne kitchen. Like, I'd get more useless cooked meat from them than useful.
does anyone want to do the Jhen Mohran event quest? I've only done it a couple times and haven't succeeded.

Monster Hunter, you are a cruel mistress.
So I got my Barroth kill (thanks for the Lance Polishing tip!) and starting farming me my Gobul spikes all excited to finally make my LS. I get my 3 spikes check the rest of the ingredients list and get a swift kick to the balls. 10 Baggi hides. I have to get to the tundra before I can make my LS. Damn Monster Hunter. You're lucky I love you.
I'm assuming a Baggi hide isn't something that can be traded?
Goddamn Jhen Mohran, drop your gem for me already I have everything but the gem for the chest piece, and all the other parts already forged.
Fought the new rock-wyvern dude for the first time just now, he's no pushover. He combines one of the more annoying traits of Barroth with a really strong hide and big AOEs on his attacks. The annoying trait is the way he steps back a ways when he does his 180 degree turn, thus making it impossible to GS charge attack his face in when he's turning. Also my fully charged GS swing was bouncing off his face?! I didn't think that could ever bounce, like the full hammer charge or the LS spirit slashes.
Oh here make the same armor you already have, but with better stats and it takes all this random crap to make!
Umm. Welcome to Monster Hunter? There's a LOT of gear in the game. And this game (Tri) actually has far less gear than the other games (Freedom series, PS2 series). :-P

Not to mention that the + armor tends to look a lot cooler too.
So I'm going online for some Barioth farming. Just beat him offline but took too many resources. He needs to drop his damn claw so I can at least make the first Tusk Lance.
Rathalos finally got a fuck you! Shanked that mother fucker solo. Made some adjustments used the flash bomb strategy and a thunderclap + long sword. Carved him up everywhich way I could.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
So, who just got to High tier, and got Two Earth Dragongems in the proccess?
That's right, I did! :P
EDIT: Oh, and if anyone is wondering why the wiki lists Jhen Mohran having 8 carves, when they only get 4... there are two seperate carve spots on a Jhen Mohran corpse, one is it's face, the other it's chest/stomach. Each has 4 carves, and unless you have Speed Carver or Gathering skill, you probablly won't get all 8 carves.
It's actually Face and Tusk. They are right next to each other. I regularly get 8 carves.

7 Big Game Hunter quests later (stupid 35% drop rate on King's Frills) and my Rhenoplos armor set is complete. Immune to muddy/snowman, wind resistance, 20 fire resistance, auto-guard...I'm going to enjoy this set of armor with the small caveat that I'm not entirely sure how I feel about looking like a giant pink teddy bear.
Now to dread doing all that over again for 3 more King's Frills for my weapon upgrade.

How are those made, by the way? They're fairly common Veggie Elder gifts, but I'm not sure whether I've managed to make one myself.
Not sure, you can just straight up buy them from the shop, though.

Never done JM before, would a learner be alright?

A Switch Axe made from his bones.
I'm very happy.
Gonna get back to farming Jhen Mohran tonight.
At least you can cook them really fast yourself with a double spit (or Cha-cha's BBQ Mask) and BBQ Expert

Damn!
And Double damn, 45 minutes of stabbing that Gobul... and I die while trying to drink a mega pot. It hurts... so hard.

Stupid wireless kicked me off I think.
Thanks for helping out with my friends though! That was much appreciated.
