Okay, ranbat points are updated like it says in the title. Next week we will probably be moving to whole roster, but this next teams (teams week 2) will still be new characters only. I'm debating if I want to reset ranbat points or not and call it a new season. It seems a bit weak to do it after two weeks, but on the other hand, I could see how it's unfair for people who were terrible with new characters and are therefore two weeks behind in points already. This I will ponder upon.
So my fiance is going out of town all weekend to visit her parents.
That means SSF4 all weekend.
I love her, no doubt, but I can't say I'm not excited
My wife decided to go out drinking with her friends last night. And all I could think of was how much SSF4 I was going to play while she was out (I played A LOT). o_O

This is the way of things. The wife is going to be out tonight and for most of tomorrow, and that means it's time for me to order some pizza, move the couch closer to the TV and buckle down for some unimpeded Street Fighter.
Does anyone else go into a full on mini panic attack when you know it's a filmed match? Like I better not do anything dumb here or someone will watch it and think I am awful.
Or am I the only one with a crippling desire to have strangers think I can be awesome?
You're not alone Rubix. I have the exact same panic-attack like feeling whenever I see those film canisters start to roll. I realize it's ridiculous, but can't do anything about it.
I figured I'd watch some random replays while I was cleaning up my room a bit, since I hadn't checked out any channels yet.
Second one I watch happened to be Waffle19 (Pogo1250) from our very own board.
It was a good Gen buddy, sorry.

I'm in the opposite boat. I'm the one going out of town all weekend to visit my parents sans xbox 360. Lame. I can't imagine my fiance will be utilizing Super Street Fighter IV quite like I would were the situation reversed.

You should try to suck more when people film. Being underestimated is useful, ya gotta spread that disinformation around, man.
Haven't seen much DeeJay discussion going on here yet, he's bloody awesome c.lp c.lp c.mp too easy to combo into everything man.
I thought c.LP, c.MP was a pretty tight link.
I do like using Deejay, if only to see him freak the fuck out with his maracas when I win.
I base the fact it's easy on that I can do it, online in a match, where as I can hardly do any of Ibuki's links offline let alone online. Maybe I'm totally wrong, just feels nice and flowing to me.
The range on his standing kicks is pretty sweet too, nice air priority and projectiles, it's a lovely mixture

c.LP, C.MK is incredibly stupid easy and is a knock down. DJ pressure is really good and stupid annoying because of how brain dead easy and safe it is. It's probably close to as good as Akuma's knock down wake up but way safe and much easier.

Yeah, according to the frame data c.lp to c.mp is a 1 frame link.
Also, I find if I do 2 jabs and the a 3rd (or a c.mp) my opponent is usually too far away to land a MGU which is his strongest (special) finisher.
What are the other options to hit confirm and also store enough charge to allow a MGU?
Hmmm, not sure Biz, I don't like cody that much, he feels rather sluggish, he's damn annoying to play against though. DeeJay more fun to play for me.
cr.lp cr.lp XX MGU is what I use. You have to link the jabs and not chain them though. You can do cr.lp cr.mp but it's a tighter link so I don't fuck around with it much online. If you hit confirmed off a jump in, you could special cancel it out of a standing normal (something like jump in, cr.lp standing whatever XX special). Close standing MP is probably your best bet in that case. Same damage as close MK but it's 1 frame faster (3 frame link). You can cancel close standing HP but you only can cancel the first hit, and it's 50 damage not 70 like his MP/MK. Of course, doing a standing normal into MGU is tough but if you're looking for a knockdown, you could always follow up with EX sabot or short sabot (techable though).
Deejay's c lp to c mk is just fantastic. I win matches just with crossups into jab sweep and tick throw mixups
This is pretty much my game plan. I figure it won't be so effective in the future, but at the very least, it's very powerful now (and irritating as hell for your opponents).
So there's something that have bugged me about my TE for a while.
Back when I was using a fightpad, I was able to mash out QCFx2 ultras with 100% success (i.e. opponent does their ultra stupidly, I do mine immediately after their ultra flash). However, ever since I've gotten my TE I always get EX DP moves when I try and mash for ultras. I don't mash ultras very often but in the occasion I do, it's frustrating.
I used to play mostly charge characters so this didn't bug me too much, but since almost all the new characters are QCF-types I'm running into this more. Someone was saying that with Makoto, you can do karakusa -> mash U1 and it will always work. However, I ALWAYS get EX fukiage, hasn't worked a single time.
Anyone else have this problem or am I just retarded? Maybe I just need to spend more time in training w/ inputs on...
Have you tested your buttons for fault? If one of the buttons isn't messed up you are likely just imputting one of the 3 punches a split second later. Also be sure you are finishing the ultras at forward when you hit the buttons.

You could always use the 3K/3P dedicated buttons as long as you can live with the guilt. If you're still having problems then you know it's your inputs and not faulty buttons.

Try it in practice mode and check inputs. FWIW, I use the 3P/3K button to make sure I don't get EX moves.
Also, I ride the gate like a mofo the LONG way to make extra sure I get the move I want. Like instead of QCFX2 I'll go from downBACK, d, df, f, (sometimes to UF... just because), db, d, df, f and just keep doing that constantly while mashing 3K/3P button when timing isn't an issue (reversal'ing an ultra).

See, I find when I mash it is when I get an EX move. I get the best results by throwing in the QCFx2 while the opponent is going through their ultra startup, then hitting the 3P button as soon as it goes back to the "normal" camera view for a reversal.
Anyone else have this problem or am I just retarded? Maybe I just need to spend more time in training w/ inputs on...
I did similar things when moving to a stick.
Slow your inputs down a bit, check out input display in training.
You'll notice if you type out two quarter circles there's an uppercut in there.
You aren't finishing the quarter circles and getting the DP instead.
Right, but the issue here is trying to mash out an ultra rather than just doing it from a standing position (which I don't really have a problem with). It seems like the inputs would get all kinds of garbled up when mashing.

When you're troubleshooting, just remember you can register a Shoryuken motion by doing DF twice, or even DF, D, DF.

I was the one who said you can mash out Karakusa -> U1, and it's what I do all the time. I played you last night if you still have the match you can go back and look. I litterally spin the stick in qcf motions and mash ppp repeatedly when I'm doing it.
You might have a hard time realizing I'm doing it purposely because I always hit buttons and motions more than I need too. So the whole match will probably have me looking like a retard. But that one time when I did karakusa -> U1 it was on purpose.
I do still get fukiage when I'm going for the karakusa->hp->hayate so It's pretty evident that I'm not really precise with my motions.
So fed up of getting kicked from a lobby. I now just instantly leave if there is 2 people with the same flag in a lobby on their own. I've sat through so many games and then get booted when my go is up. Le sigh.
I think we can officially say that Cody is the new Ryu.100% pure USDA Grade bullshit. All of his slides break armor and are safe on block, his rock throw has almost no setup frames and has excellent recovery, he has a mean as hell crossup with his long, floaty jumps and mk, and he can combo his criminal upper from c.jp and c.lk. Sure, he can't SRK on wakeup, but with all of those other things going for him, getting that first knockdown and keeping him out of your face is task enough.
Hands down the most frustrating of all the newcomers, with the possible exception of Ibuki. But being such an execution-heavy character, no idiot can just pick her up and spam HA-HA! over and over to get in a win, so she gets a pass.
No, it auto records endless battle matches as well. Don't know about the team battle mode as I haven't used it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

They were located in the same place as the ranked ones. I'm pretty sure it doesn't differentiate. I know it works because I have all my fights saved from the first RanBats. Unless there's some sort of weird thing where it only saves fights in lobbies of 2 people.
Edit:
Oh shit. Maybe it was that I was being invited to ranked battles for RanBat. I didn't think of that until just now. If that's the case then what I said doesn't apply. Nor does what I said to Paincakes apply.
