As a Protoss player (and occasionally when I play other species) vs Zerg, I have trouble with mass Roaches/Hydras. My guess for Protoss is I need to be using Templar (HT to storm them, DT to kill them unseen) mainly because those and Colossi are the only units I rarely use. I guess Terrans I do the Marine/Marauder thing? What about Zerg? Mutas?
Hmm, really you just gotta keep him from being able to expand to the point where he can start pumping infinite roach/hydra. Colossi, HT, and tanks are all good against roach/hydra, but you still need a more standard army to hold them off.
against roach/hydra you really just need to have a bigger/better force, superior micro, or a powerful group destroying spell/unit
my very large roach/hydra have been totally decimated by the following: banelings, psi storm, siege tanks
Roach/Hydra is like a million times more powerful than straight up hydra. They just form up so well because of their ranges, cheap hp up front, dps in the back.

Colossi and high templar (i.e. psi storm) are your weapons of choice here.
As a Terran I aim for siege tanks against roach/hydra. Once you get a large mass going they'll tear through zerg ground faster than they can get into firing position.
Eech, I have started to get placed in games against Plat players and I have just been getting taken to town (well, 1-2) I guess I just need practice in ZvP
Fast expand to mass Hydras. Tech switch to mutas if they go colossi. Abandon the hydras and go roaches if they're 2-gate rushing.
It's been difficult for me to use, because it's such a precise build, I find I canscrew up or get too caught up in microing my lings in the initial harass, that I forget to keep up my macro, so my hydras are late for the zealot, stalker sentry push, or I don't have enough because I wasn't mining enough.
my friends and i are horrible horrible people. we've been pitting the ones that are newest to the game against each other and spectating, and god it's classic

the terran checks one corner, nobody here
decides he has to check the high ground expansion there
just in case the zerg floated his hatch there in the beginning, right?
also, one time that same zerg quicked teched to brood lords
I have never lost a game where they built extractors on my gas, ever.
Because every time I ever see that, I know to pump drones and expand, period.
They just threw away 150 minerals very early on, I am now in a lead. And I've always won because of it.
80
Isn't the drone 50 and the extractor 25? So it should be even less. Not sure how 75 minerals would give somebody a victory. That would have to be a very close game that came down to a roach.
they would have to build their own ghost academy. You can't nuke with the enemy's nuke
you could totally neural parasite an SCV and tech to nukes.

the last guy left in an ffa i just played had a ton of sensor towers so i was taking my 96 reapers all around the outside of his base making him shit his pants. "want to see something cool?" 96 reapers roll in and wreck his assorted marauders and thors.
vikings are definitely the better choice, as your MMM ball can crush most ground forces without the help of banshees, and vikings have incredible range

How did reapers of all things tear apart marauders and thors?

So I just lost about 6 games in a row to Ryougi. I just can't seem to get my macro down, I am constantly supply locked, overflowing with minerals, forgetting to build SCVs, forgetting to build structures. It all falls apart after into mid game.
Oh and Ryo does this neat thing where he wins every single fight with superior micro, no matter what.
I beat him a couple times in a PvP but it was very close and I'm not sure what I did different between the wins and the losses except that he harassed my probe lines a ton more in the later games and I wasn't so great at rebuilding them.

His Phoenix micro is unbelievably solid.
Just go zerg and 14 expand vs Ryo, he can't win 8-)

Its fun.

11, and one of them is huge because it contains the galaxy editor.
Destroying a Nydus Network as soon as the Zerg loads up their entire army trying to be sneaky. Maybe they should have noticed that Observer overhead

Did you destroy both sides?
If that ever happens to you, you can build a new network to rescue your units.
