So guys... I may have accidentally freaked my friend on the first day of the new school term by suggesting that she could have been bitten by a rabid dog.

Her bite is infected and she said the dog was crazy.

If she doesn't know the owner of the dog and can't confirm that it has been vaccinated for rabies then she had better get herself vaccinated quickly

That was my line of thinking. I need more description of this dog. She said it was crazy. that's it. Maybe it was her neighbors dog. but like "crazy" as in "maaan that's a wild n crazy dog". or like "crazy" as in "this dog's mind has been shattered by a fatal viral infection." I dont know.

Hey guys... I have been away from the forums and missed the to'ings and fro'ings of the AC... How are you all?

So, I'm on Day 4 of this animated video shoot I'm art directing. First 3 days were taken up with a verse part done entirely in chalk on a blackboard, which was massively time comsuming but the results are pretty sweet looking.

I have now drawn 100's and 100's of frames worth of animation. We are working 12+ hour days. My body aches like a bastard but I actually think I could really get into shooting videos.

The artist we're producing the video for is called N'fa and he was friends with the late Heath Ledger, who shot his last video (apparently in Heath's garage!). We all went out for dinner this evening. He seems like a nice chap.

Tomorrow we will be doing painted on the wall animation along with a human in there as well. It will take forever... wish me luck.

Todays comic is clever, it's been a while. The constant barage of comics about kids was getting old.

EDIT: Good luck at your awesome job Grenn.

I had assumed Tow Truck Simulator was a joke, but apparently it's a real game that you can buy and it has reviews (albeit not very good ones) and other things that go along with being a real thing.

Better safe then sorry. The infection enough is something she should go get looked at by the doctors.

Also recently replaced my PSP screen so I can play it again, but can't for the life of me find the charger cord.

is that the book about the Tarahumara? edit: also, is it a "natural lifestyle" wankfest or has the author kept breathless romanticizing out of it?

it is the book about the tarahumara. Im not sure what you call romantasizing. I mean he tells some pretty amazing anecdotes about them playing running games that span distances of 100 miles while kicking a wooden ball around rocky mountainous terrain while running barefoot or in leather slippers. He doesnt really rail on about how pure their lives are. The only purity bit he starts to preach is how running with shoes has fucked us all and changed the natural way we run into something completely different. the tarahumara basically just wrap some leather around their feet and take off.

He makes their world sound terrible enough that I never want to go there. Living in isolated hard to reach low tech canyons surrounded by marijuana fields and Insane drug cartels.

The area is hardcore gorgeous and the would-be shoes are actually weirdly comfortable, but I swear to god the most marked thing I remember about the Tarahumarans is eating goat soup and seeing a bus that had run off the side of a mountain.

    GOAT SOUP, surprisingly delicious.

I have not read much lately because I have been occupied and/or lazy. Many things I would like to read though...

Also, I spent the night in a mansion on the beach playing playstation games and drinking high-quality beer. That was pretty neat.

I think I'm working too much.

I have a concept due friday for an activity. Last night I dreamt that the party started, and none of the banners got printed.

I found a big paper drum and a pencil and I started drawing and sticking them on the wall like a crazy person.

"That's the style, that's the style!" is what I would say when people asked me why it was so colorless.

    I need another vacation.

Researchers study knife-wielding robots (w/ Video)

What I love about this article is that at no point do they attempt to explain why they made a murder-bot

They describe a bunch of cool stuff about the arm, like torque sensors and joints and stuff

But mostly it's "WE TAUGHT A ROBOT TO STAB SO WE COULD TEACH IT HOW TO NOT STAB"
