So I'm having an odd problem with my Vista 64 system. It seems I have some how ended up with a SCSI HD Dvd drive in my computer. I have not installed daemon tools or similar. I have attempted to remove what I believe to be the offending drive in device manager which leads to a restart and still having the drive after boot. The error is seemingly not a big deal but is just annoying me at this point.
Also of note is lately my Printer(Lexmark x4650 connected by usb) thinks it is a lexmark mass storage device besides being an all in one printer. To my knowledge this started around the same time as the phantom drive issue but this doesn't show up in the my computer screen so I can deal with it just in device manager.
Disabling prompts a restart and when the computer comes back up the disk is still there and enabled. I did get one of the fake av malware infections around when this showed up too and I have read it's possible to get phantom disks from things like that, but none of the articles seemed to have ways to disable it.
Perhaps installing Daemon tools would allow me to remove the disk?
Edit: Tried disabling and rebooting again and it worked this time.
