From a gameplay perspective I'd agree with you, tehmarken. But as an MMO which is built largely around interacting with other players for prolonged periods of time, I'd say that GearScore has had far more impact on people's enjoyment of the game.
GearScore, as a mod, is a tool. I don't really have a problem with the idea, but the sad truth is that it is a tool used to its greatest (negative) effect by tools.
I'm sure that Blizzard would love to get rid of it. If they knew how. I'm not sure what they could do that others wouldn't find a way around. They'd basically have to make it so that mods wouldn't be able to read the stats on gear, breaking dozens of other mods in the process.
They'd have to make mods not even be able to see what gear you had, because then they could ship the mod with a database of the itemlevels and create a gearscore that way. There's absolutely no way to get rid of gearscore without gutting all item mods completely.

Yeah my nightelf druid is converting to a worgen druid as soon as they open up that option. But it might actually be faster to just reroll the fucker 'cause my druid was only in the level 30's.

Eh, I would rather have had Worgen's turn into a Wolf. Though the Bear form looks alright.
The idea of a man, who turns into a werewolf, who then turns into a bear is just a little absurd.

Also, this fun tidbit from old concept art concerning the Night Elves: "Male Kaldorei are secretive and rarely speak at tribal meetings, they telepathically speak through one of the many female under their care." Yikes.
The pictures themselves looks fucking badass. Why can't we get that kind of art direction in WoW?
It would rock if they made all the druid forms look that badass. Dunno what they're gonna do for worgen's flightform but troll druid's flightform should be a pterodactyl.

Alliance is now contaminated, looking forward to all the Blood Elf sephiroth roleplayers to migrate to worgen, the horde is the master faction once again. Trolling the worgen starting zone on RP servers will be met with countless furry tears and *facepaws*.
Also, I made a warrior just to dual wield claws. Got the idea after first seeing the ZG set claws.
This idea didn't turn out so well in the long run. :x
At least there are currently plans to make one-handers fury an alternative to two two-handers fury in Cata.

besides, nobody has a cow fursona, they all rp as wolf-people because they're under the impression that wolves are cool and because of the whole alpha male thing. Alliance, enjoy your cancer
You seem to be under the mistaken impression that 15 year olds, anime fans, furries, and horrible people are all the same group.
They overlap, sure, but if you don't think the alliance is already filled with people from those groups, you are sadly mistaken.

True, Alliance is cancerous enough as it is but the introduction of female worgen running around RPing that they're in heat will only exacerbate the problem
Really, I'd say that most of the furs that I know play WoW do NOT RP, and most of the RPers I know are NOT furs. And I know a lot of furs who play WoW.
People who are into fur stuff who RP stick to Second Life or Tapestries or something, for the most part. That way that can play as their "fursona".
As for RPers - even the ones who post on sites like Darknest tend to gravitate towards Night Elves, Trolls, and Blood Elves, for some reason. I say this coming from an RP server. And no, I don't RP - in-game or out.
Yeah, putting Worgen into the game will definitely appeal to an anthro-loving audience, but I can guarantee that you're not going to see a huge influx of RP craziness. You may see more people dropping the face in Guild Chat, but that's about it.

AVR enabled a couple less than geared/competent puggies to clear bosses more easily.
Gearscore enabled a couple more than geared terrible puggies to get into raids and cock up bosses endlessly.
