Loathe: FoS was for my daily and I got the trifecta of gooses for a group. undergeared resto druid who died almost every other pull, an impatient tank, and and clueless rogue dps. The druid had to be new to healing because he was hyper focusing on keeping the tank alive even at the cost of his own life

All was going until we hit the first boss. The mage in our group died pretty fast. The rogue got pink balled, but didn't run away. Luckily, I got the next two so we had a fighting chance. It was funny because the rogue would leave the boss and come halfway to the orb, but then decided to go back to the boss. We somehow get him to 30% for phase 2, but I couldn't kill the orb fast enough so he got healed right at the beginning. Fortunately I didn't get the first 2-3 fears so I could dps the crap out of the boss.

The rogue dies from fear and the tanks is going down. I get feared when the tank is at 15%. I bubble and heal the tank to about 35% and keep dps up. Tanks gets wittled down to 5% and I drop Lay of Hands on him and continue to dps. Tanks gets 2 fears and he goes down, but at that point I put the final hammer of wrath into the boss. That fight took about 6-8 minutes.

I get praised for my ability to not die and we move on. Tank doesn't wait for healer mana and people die a couple more times. First attempt of final boss I forgot to explain it, so dps was had on the mirrored person. They all die. I get my ass out of the room with the help of rocket boots. I rez who I could and we wait a few minutes for the rest. We get the boss down the 2nd time.

Love: not having to have a repair bill for all that craziness.

This reminds me of how someone dies in nexus right after Anomalous. Every time.

I do cut the jump close to try to lure clueless peoples into their deaths, but I get the feeling that isn't a large factor at all since I don't always do that.

I half expected a whisper of some kind last night from a 2vs2 games. A guy in guild asks if I can do 10 games. Elemental / healing paladin combo. Ugh. I don't know how anybody plays this bracket anymore and remains sane.

The 4th game we played, we came up against a r.druid / warrior combo in the sewers. It was a complete and utter stalemate. My partner never went below 90% mana. I'd constantly peel the warrior off him. The r.druid's mana never went below 95%.

31 minutes this rubbish went on for. I got the r.druid to 10% health a few times, but then "oh lolz, NS heal full". And those times were rare in that game, because there was no way to stop him and pin him in place.

But for all of that sillyness, the most dangerous thing that r.druid did, was stand in the open, in tree, and allow me to attempt to dps him down. He just stood there, rolling hots, while I'd purge and dps'd as best I could. He didn't need to cast one spell so there was nothing I could sheer. I went oom and there he stood.

We won in the end (did a switch to the warrior who had no hots while my paladin partner did a stun / silence, and then got a wind sheer that hit, and thunderstormed him off the middle while knocking the warrior to the middle which allowed me to hit him with some lucky burst), and I'm pretty sure we only won because that r.druid had the good grace to afk out.

I told my partner I wasn't doing anymore games that night. I wasn't going to risk going into another game like that. What a crap / horrible pvp experience.

For them, it's about efficiency when chain-running heroics. Numbers arbitrary and made up, but something like this:

    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    3 minutes - 3 emblems ( last boss )

    0.467 emblems / minute

    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    0 minutes - skipped boss
    3 minutes - 1 emblem
    0 minutes - skipped boss
    3 minutes - 3 emblems ( last boss )

    0.556 emblems / minute

Whether it actually IS faster or not depends on how the instance is laid out. Never bothered to calculate if it ups the emblem/hour rate for a given instance, but I'm usually fine with either way.

Loathe: Queued for H PoS and wasted an hour before I finally got out of there. First, the tank was irritated at the DK for constantly popping AotD on bosses and at the hunter for pulling a mob accidentally. Then he spent too long bitching at the DK again on Ick, lagged out something terrible and wiped the group. He left and we got a nice squishy DK tank. He splattered on poison nova, causing the healer to leave. Cue new healer and we got down Ick. We successfully cleared the hill but then the tank ran up the tunnel while the healer ressed the dead DPS DK. After coming back from that, the elemental in the tunnel splattered the tank and we lost everybody minus the hunter and myself.

Love: Reeled in two guildies to assist, got a randomed ICC geared resto shaman and took down Tyrannus.

I've been doing a lot more randoming on my paladin.

The one who doesn't even technically need frost badges anymore. I've been doing it in the vain hope that I'll end up in Occ for a shot at the drake.

One day I got UP 5 times in a day. There are two bosses in there that can be skipped. I asked at the beginning of each run if people needed those bosses or not.

Guess how many times people did? I'll give you a hint: the number was greater than 0, and less than 2.

If I am doing a Random and I see someone in the group with a GS of ~4400 or lower then I will not skip bosses. Well, Except for HoS and Eck in Gundrak. HoS because they made it too easy to skip two bosses and Eck because noone hardly knows he is there anyway

If everyone looks like they are tier 9 or above, then it's straight to the last boss as quick as possible.

All of the stories on this is why I'm glad I scored the BoE shield from Ulduar for my warrior before I began seriously working on him (well, her now). Though I did run into that a lot with a similiar problem when I'd try to run HFoS for the tanking boots.

You can be like the rest of us who got so sick of DPS rolling on tank stuff that you can start rolling on DPS stuff as a tank.

Blizzard doesn't think items should necessarily go to certain people based on their current role, only on if they can use it or not. If they did, they wouldn't even be able to get everything right (for instance, maybe a tank would actually use a DPS trinket for threat). You should probably just get used to the idea, and recognize that the people queuing as DPS have to wait 15-20 times longer than you for a run anyway.

Rolling over a bitchy DPS for a Tyrannical Beheader for my DPS set made up for at least 10 people beating me out on the HoR shield.

When I tank, I always ask if people want to do the long or the short version of the dungeon. If nobody answers (that happens at least 50% of the time) I just do the short version, so I skip the two bosses in HoS, Eck in GunDrak and the mushroom thing in AK. This is mostly because Eck has annoying trash and generally speaking DPS are too dumb for Krystallus and the Maiden of Stone, because they so rarely do them.

I've seen tanks skip the two middle bosses in Draktharon or the first two bosses in UP. I generally don't do that, because they take like 2 minutes. Even if I don't need the badges now, I can just exchange them for gems or crusader orbs for an alt.

On a char that still needs badges, I ask the group to please do all bosses, but I don't bitch if they don't answer/say no.
