orik and I have spoken about a summer meetup in Windsor sometime, but we haven't heard a ton of enthusiasm mostly because there aren't a lot of people from around there that would go

if you're going to be around in august that sounds like a great time to meet up though!

It seems to me that here in SE++ there are some old dogs who try to run off anyone new. They see this site as their backyard. Anyone coming close gets barked at, growled at, and generally menaced. I wasn't threadshitting. You had a thread about how people feel about the moonlandings. Some person made a joke about fake moon landings. A troll acted like they meant it seriously and misrepresented what they said. I got on at this point.

I tried to put the conspiracy people in context. [How much of the official government version of the "truth" from the sixties is even close to the truth? How many people defend the war in southeast asia now? Who still claims that the students deserved what they got at kent state? Do you think there is no BS in the Moon Legend? The legend of NASA is the last lie standing and everyone who doesn't jack off to pictures of Werner von Braun's Saturn [SIZE="2"]V[/SIZE] rocket knows this. It is more media than message and has been my whole life.]

If I'm too harsh on space science than it is just because I love it and don't want it to be so much like the rest of the world. Why haven't we been back for forty years? Why did we need nazi science to show our superiority? Where is the outrage? Don't we all know something isn't right?, can't we can all feel it?, be honest. I don't want the truth because of F'd up morals, I like the truth because it is always more interesting and useful than lies.

There was plenty of threadshit here already, I was just trying to make sure everyone got their fair share. I knew going in that I'd end up covered in it. Don't blame me for the trolls that have been tweeting their friends to come join them on a troll BBQ.
