-everyone meets up in a channel and is given a name prefix for a character so no one can bring a character with items already muled onto it. not even gold should be allowed. everyone starts off on equal footing with only a build in mind.
-8 players join one game. this is key as you will gain xp faster this way and you can all scrabble for the same items (part of the fun).
-party up, stay together, and level to nine (lowest level you can duel at)
-when everyone gets to town there is a round of selling stuff to and buying from NPCs.
-everyone unparties. they also allows everyone else looting and after being paired off duels to the death.
-winner gets the losers gear to do with what they wish
since these are typically held in hardcore, the loser typically comes back in to the game with a level one character to watch the outcome of the game.
Banned DURING the duel:
Health/rejuv potions
Holy fire, smite, prayer, kick, bash, bone armor, recasting minions (so a clay golem is ok, but if it dies, you CAN'T recast. I'm not sure how bad druid minions will be, but for now they are allowed. Again, you cannot recast minions)
Items with replenish life
Duels are FFA. There will be a cap on gambling time, if you somehow have 40k gold like Minor Second, you WILL be yelled at. Just don't be a jerk about it. Also, you have to wait in line when gambling or else Gheed won't reset.

Especially when it hits you in the middle of the night, and you don't even have time to get out of your sleeping bag before... Rules will have to be reworked, I think the general consensus was that Chen's wolves were too much, couldn't hit and run due to regen, and there's 3 -.-
I'm just going to set a ban on minions I think, pretty much nerfing necros. Sorcs get the shaft pretty bad too, I just played with a skills calculator and it isn't pretty.
With close to a full game, it was much faster levelling and less goodies which is fine. Just kill and take their stuff. We are awful at clearing Blood Moor too, blah.
And congrats to Chen for being cheesy, a cheater, a jerk winning the IronWANG tourny, more will be held in the near future (I'm busy till Tuesday night if anyone wants to host before then).
Amusingly, puppies do weak damage while skellies do significantly more thanks to skellie mastery.
