Help with cooling down a 360

One of the fans on my 360 died, and needs to be replaced. The thing keeps over heating on me now.
I'm looking around and the Whisper Fan claims it's 50 something percent better at cooling and 7% quieter. And then there's this core cooler from the same company.

But I don't know if anything works. I had a little nyko fan attachment years ago but I don't think it ever did anything.

the external fans are considered to be problematic... people claim they burn out USB ports, and cause other issues so i'd avoid them

honestly, i'd just buy an OEM replacement fan on ebay, but do test your existing fans before replacing.... on my xbox, one of the fans stopped working, but the issue was actually with the fan header, not with the fan itself.... so all i had to do was run a couple of inches of wire from an unused header at the front (total cost $.05) rather than replacing the fan (for $20).
