I'm sorry, but voting SC2 as a one star on Amazon (which, btw, the whole 3000 of you that will do that, will mean dick shit to the 4-5 star rating it will have) is retarded, and childish. Battle.net is nothing but a server architecture, it's not the game. I can't believe the amount of consternation over what amounts to XBox Live for StarCraft. Seriously.
If you hate it that bad, vote with your dollars. Of course, no one will. All the people "boycotting" SC2 and "protesting" will still drop their 60 bucks.

so to you good enough is fine and we shouldn't ask for or want extremely simple features that have been in older versions of the same game?

Asking for a feature is one thing, being whiny and threatening to "protest" with your meaningless one star Amazon vote is childish. It's the digital equivalent to throwing a toddler tantrum because Blizzard won't add your pet feature to Battle.net.
Exactly, they are a butch of idiots. All I have seen from TL.net is constant bitching and whining from people, this is the first constructive attempt at feedback I have seen.
There are some really good posts at TL.net, then there are the legions of silly geese who love to share their opinion in the least intelligent way.

Barring a few diamonds in the rough, the only thing I've seen from TL.net is: bitch, bitch, whine, whine, I'm an elitist jerk, if you aren't Plat/Diamond shutup, bitch bitch, whine. That about sums up TL.net for the last several months.
open up a channel and let my bros know the password is tits and the channel name is i like fucking
and then we make jokes and arrange games
also staying up for the msl might not be the best decision but i'm already invested in it so fuck it
IRC, Steam Groups, IM chats. Battle.net doesn't have a monopoly on chat. There are a thousand and one ways to setup chat rooms, all of which are probably more feature rich than B.net would be anyway.
Look, I wouldn't mind chat channels either, but it's easy to work around, and people threatening to protest on Amazon over it. For real?

well yeah, and i'm definitely not in the camp that is actually taking action on all of this
How is the reaction extreme? People just want to be heard (clearly from the interview, blizzard hasn't) and have them work to make BNet 2.0 at least a good as it's 1998 counterpart.
I also don't get why TL gets so much hate, as far as gaming community sites go it's far and above most any other I've seen.

Seriously, you can't see how threatening to one-star a game on Amazon (a game you will likely purchase, love, and play the shit out of), isn't extreme and childish?
Again, if it bothers you that bad, don't give Blizzard your money. They are going to listen to that long before they are going to listen to 5000 people giving SC2 a one-star on Amazon, when the 100,000 people that give it a 4-5 basically drown them out.
I don't understand the facebook integration, what is the point?
Because it's the "hip" thing to do now. XBox did it, PS3 did it, Android and iPhone do it. Not saying I agree, I think it's stupid, I hate it...but, I see where they are coming from. That feature isn't for you and I, it's for the 500,000 people that buy this game that don't post on game forums, and actually care about social media.
OK. I'll repost a question I asked a couple pages back:
Can you viably deny expansions (to non-zerg) by carrying around a queen that drops creep tumours? I pulled if off in a silver league game but I'm curious to see if anyone's done it successfully in more skilled play.

I don't see how this is very different from any large group of people. There's plenty of people on this forum I pretty much ignore, and a foray into any number of threads here will show you plenty of silly geese sharing their opinions in not very intelligent ways.
I still like this community, and I still like Team Liquid. I think maybe one part you're missing is that up until the SC2 beta came out they pretty much were the English speaking starcraft community, and their members still have quite a bit of influence over the community. So if you want to be heard or want to express your opinion to the community you would logically choose to post on the TL forums.
Edit: With regard to pro's having to buy multiple copies. SC pros don't make their living playin sc (other than Koreans and maybe some Chinese, I don't know much about the Chinese scene). They're pro's in the sense that they're far and away the best players who commonly get to the top levels of tournaments. But even the richest foreign BW tournament handed out only 10k. That was a one time thing. 10k isn't a decent annual salary by any means. And only 1 person got that.
i really cannot wait until map 3, flash v jaedong on match point has only happened a couple times before
and both times were great
I'm excited too. I wasn't too upset that I missed the OSL finals, but then it was impossible for me to avoid being spoiled before the VODs went up. So that took a lot of fun out of it. I've never watched any of the big finals live before, so this should be sweet.
The problem is the way they express it, it is almost angering.
I assume this is in response to me. I agree with that. There's a lot of posters there who seem to lack a certain logic, but you get that a lot of places.
The broader community I found via TL is great though. The commentators they used in the TSL - Chill, Artosis, Day[9], and tasteless in particular are all solid. And the people who write their articles are also usually solid.

edit: i am going to 1 star it and write up a reason why...people do read those comments sometimes
It was prettttttty great.

Am I the only person disgusted by this behavior?
No idea, who knows, I think most of us agree it's kind of lame, and we all want chat...but some of the reaction to it is just extreme.
No, you're not. As I said, I think it's childish and ridiculous. If you want to "protest", protest with your dollars. Just don't buy the game.
well yeah, and i'm definitely not in the camp that is actually taking action on all of this
but man am i bummed out
steam will probs be the way to go
