On that subject... How many people have actually got arrested?
I find the shooting starts to quickly for that to happen?
I got arrested after running through the bank once. I just stood outside without my gun drawn and law dude walked up to me and that was that.
I accidentally pointed a gun at a police officer in blackwater once. I holstered it and waited for him to arrest me. The fucker shot me dead with a shotgun.

Point a gun at a real cop and you'll probably see a similar reaction.
So, does anyone know why I can't buy the US Military scrap from the tailor in Blackwater? I've done everything on the US Army outfit up until this point and it says "Not Available" on it.

I managed to get my bounty up passed $7,000 last night and then some asshole named Blitzy killed me. I wish it took less votes to kick people.
Is there a trick to this, or is it just a matter of spending enough time to kill enough people? I get up to around $800-900 and think to myself that it's taking forever, and just wander off.
So I decided I was going to wait until I got ambushed for the Dastardly achievement. A weird sense of justice for using the girl that tricked me instead of some innocent. So I hogtie her, take her to a track and wait for the train.
The train comes blasting along, hits her with the cowcatcher, and the train just stops dead. Stuck on her body on the tracks. I wait for a second or two to see if it'll do anything, but nope - just stopped dead. So I go over and pick her up.
Marston clips through the train and slowly rises through the floor with her on his shoulder, eventually ending up just standing in the train as it makes its way to Blackwater.
LOL!!!! Least yours was more entertaining then mine.
Got ambushed...decided to teach her a "lesson". Found the nearest train track....and waited...
Waited a whole game day (+ a few hours to make sure). In that 20(?) minutes of real time I got horse jacked (*whistled* ...victim 2 on the tracks) and missed out on my first Stage Coach protect side mission in fear of the NPC vanishing.
On the plus side, it was a beautiful lil scenic sunset that I got to watch scroll past me....wife walks in and see's me sitting there just watching some deer in the distance. Looks at me like, "This is why you bought the game?" (she's a hater) and walks on.
Guess the train was in for repairs...(?) And I'm still needing that achievement.
I have been stuck at the Free Roam loading screen for about 10 minutes now, I don't think Asia plays this game online.
You know how Fistful of Dollars was based on Yojimbo, and the Magnificent Seven was based on The Seven Samurai?
Well, now I want an open world game about samurai.
oohhh.. nice...
I was imagining it would be an easy step to move the gameworld forward 20 years and have a 1930 mobster era style GTA... The could easily reuse the same engine and the scale would allow you to "escape over county and state lines" until the G-men came for you...
It is one of the only era's where all the of elements of GTA come together and make sense...
You know what i'd love to see done with this engine, Tighten up the foot movement controls so your dude isn't so goddamn floaty and then set it in London 1888 and make you a hard drinking renegade inspector trying to crack down on crime and catch Jack the Ripper.

Some guy took us to a mansion or large ranch house with a wall around it. Then we proceeded to shoot every Mexican soldier that came within sight.
Got the Dastardly achievement last night. I just grabbed a random lady off of the streets of Armadillo. She said some funny things while lying there, squirming on the tracks. "Howdy!" "Well look at you!" "Pardon me!" All in a very cheerful voice.
While I was waiting for a train a guy rode up to me and said his friend was about to be hung for no reason. Well, he actually said his friend was about to be hung for no "rea". He never finished his sentence because I shot him in the face.

You want him out of your server so you can bring up your bounty undisturbed? Start a private server.
Sure, public free roam is full of tools who just go around trying to grief you, but there are very effective ways of preventing this from happening.
There are two playgrounds here. One is an "anything goes" jungle gym of happenstance, and another is the one in your backyard. They're both identical in features and size, so you can't kick the kid out of the first one because he's not playing by your arbitrary rules. Go to your own backyard if that bothers you. Either that, or hunt his ass down with your own posse until he leaves. Play by the rules of the playground. Don't get pissed because you don't subscribe to them.
Last night some douche came up and killed me while I was building a bounty. I hunted him down five or six times until he rode away and came back with two friends. I hunted them down for a good 15 minutes before they got bored and left too. It helped that I had a sniper rifle and could pick them off before they even knew where I was.

I hit a weird glitch the other night. I sprint towards a piece of cover, hit the cover button, Marston slides against the cover... and launches fifty feet straight up in the air while remaining in the crouched cover position. Then he landed slightly in front of the cover.

It does.
The only ones that can be private are the "do x in any game mode" ones. The most wanted one isn't.
However if you're at the point where you have 7k bounty you're well past the point of the 10m mark and you should just escape to get it to pop.
That kind of bounty makes you an irresistible target for players in a public.
EDIT: I really wish I could get some of the multiplayer achievements but I can't stay connected long enough to do so. It's pretty frustrating, shit needs fixed.

You only need public to get achievements, not challenges. There are only like 4 achievements this applies to, and none involve getting a bounty higher than $1000.
Besides, that's irrelevant. I also need an achievement where I'm in first place three times in a row in FFA matches. Does that mean I can flip out when people kill me and I don't get first place? Free Roam Public is just as much "every man for himself" and "anything goes" as the gold rushes/shootouts are. The sooner you understand this, the sooner you'll stop popping veins in your eyes.

Yeah, what made the Most Wanted achievement fun for me was that I knew everyone on the map was on their way. Plus the fact that my two buddies were there to help me out and that I could plead with the enemy not to kill me yet made it so awesomely tense.
There was one guy who was shadowing me so he could kill me immediately after I got the achievement. I got it, announced it server-wide, turned around and popped him in the head.

There is one achievement where you need to ride between two ends of the map before sun down. Not hard. You could do it twice if you're clever; however, you need to do it in public freeroam. It's designed to be difficult because you may be killed on the way by other players.

It's not ganking or griefing. This isn't an MMO. This isn't Space Station 13. It's a public free roam session where 16 players are involved and can do any of the following:
- Gang hideouts
- Complete challenges
- Kill each other
Those are your options. It's not "griefing" simply because someone is doing #3 and you don't want to. You get 50 XP for killing another player in free roam. You get 250 XP when they have a bounty. It is not "childish" to gain XP in one of the intended ways. You know what is childish? Throwing a fit and name calling when people aren't playing the way you want them to.*
*Not directed at you, but people in general.
Edit: And I don't even really kill other players in free roam unless they're trying to kill me. I just understand that there is an intended feature in that mode, and I can't get pissy because I don't want to partake in it. There are ample options for me to pursue if that's the case. None of them require me to pout my bottom lip and cry.

Haha oh man, I did that one at about 2:00 in the morning in a practically empty server with the only other person in the game chasing me full sprint across the map. Luckily, my horse was faster than his mule and my rifle was more accurate than his.

I generally don't either, but it's pretty funny when a two-kid posse is walking along picking flowers and I scream by on a horse and put one barrel a piece from the sawed off into their brain, never breaking stride, and listening to them "What the F" until I'm out of proximity chat range. I mean it's not like I followed them around griefing them till they quit, it was just a target of opportunity. Like someone who leaves their car unlocked. And I'm sure they saw the humor later...
That bounty one seems like the one achievement that I'll never be able to get, unless I get into a public server with all PAers and you guys decide to not kill me. Multiplayer achievements are the worst. The team and FFA ones seem a bit more doable, but still...

Save it for some night when you're having trouble sleeping. My sleep schedule's been all messed up because I've been moving, and when I was up at 2 am playing, I ended up in a free roam room where I was the only person there for a good half hour. Sadly, I was too tired to go for it, but at least there's hope.

True, but Way of the Samurai 3 is very open ended. There are over twenty endings, some interesting jobs you can do that don't involve combat, and you can customize your fighting style and look nearly 100%. It's not perfect, but it's the closest thing since Bushido Blade to having a 'samurai simulator' like Red Dead Redemption is to cowboys.

I would think the trick would be to get a full posse, then switch to public. Your posse will follow intact.
So is the game worth re-upping my gold for and buying?
I really want to play this, I'd rather do it on my PC but there's no telling when if ever I will be able to.
edit: Maybe it would be worth it just buying the gold membership card if they still sell those. I don't want to reactivate because more than anything else I hate being on the phone for 20 minutes trying to cancel the shit.

Actually there's no point to do Port Forwarding on the 360.

Don't forget Blaine.
There was one guy who was shadowing me so he could kill me immediately after I got the achievement. I got it, announced it server-wide, turned around and popped him in the head.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
Someone mentioned Way of the Samurai... but after reading reviews and watching some gameplay vids, it really doesn't come close to RDR in terms of total awesomeness.
I asked if I have to take my money off of his corpse, as the guy continues to insult Eva while he stands over her grave. Then we both slowly back away from Eva's grave as the music ramps up, our hands hovers above our holster...
Then just have them watch your ass.

I really want to play this, I'd rather do it on my PC but there's no telling when if ever I will be able to.
edit: Maybe it would be worth it just buying the gold membership card if they still sell those. I don't want to reactivate because more than anything else I hate being on the phone for 20 minutes trying to cancel the shit.
p...c...version?
it's like you're saying words but they just don't make sense!
Schools are starting to get out now though so I would do it sooner rather than later.
Bushido Blade! Bringing back the 90's hehe. I loved that game.
