That bounty one seems like the one achievement that I'll never be able to get, unless I get into a public server with all PAers and you guys decide to not kill me. Multiplayer achievements are the worst. The team and FFA ones seem a bit more doable, but still...
Save it for some night when you're having trouble sleeping. My sleep schedule's been all messed up because I've been moving, and when I was up at 2 am playing, I ended up in a free roam room where I was the only person there for a good half hour. Sadly, I was too tired to go for it, but at least there's hope.
Schools are starting to get out now though so I would do it sooner rather than later.
The college semester for most places is over already, so it's gonna be tough. If you just wait long enough there won't be anyone playing.
I killed around 20 wolves with a knife just now. They just kept coming! Also, for the Daedalus stranger mission; is it any feathers at all or is it certain birds only?
I was surrounded by a group of 4 lawmen, 1 guy that was trying to punch me out because somehow I angered him by killing the train engineer, 2 boars, a pack of 5+ wolves, and a bear.
Needless to say, even though I died, it was the most epic fight any man has ever seen.
SIDE-NOTE- You can preform knife stealth kills, just not with your ordinary knife, you have to use throwing knives. Get up close to someone and just tap R2... looks awesome.

I really wish minigames weren't a part of 100% completion, because they are retarded and frustrating. Shooting guys is no problem, but five-finger fillet and horseshoes make me want to throw my controller.

Any feather should work. I think I had a combination of crow, hawk and owl feathers.

Oh god horseshoes. I don't understand it at all. I've ended up with the cursor on the same part of that golf game like line and had the horseshoes fall in two different places. Not close either. I mean just missing the sandbox and landing at the very back of the sandbox.

That Simon Says game is CRAZY close to the layout and button colors of a 360 controller.
And I finally got the Most Wanted achievement on a public sever that -wasn't- stacked with posse buds. Just had one other guy watching my back as we did it together in the jail on the McFarlane ranch. A couple players came by to try to grief but they got face-shot enough that they stopped trying.

your backswing matters a lot too, you gotta get that consistent if you want to get consistent results.

horseshoes is about the speed of your thumbstick which sucks, and does not necessarily correspond to the color code on the HUD
All you have to do is reset your aim after every throw, and count to yourself through the upswing.
Just keep track of where it lands. You can go slower and release later or or you can go faster and release sooner. I got two ringers in a row with this method.

This. Combined with 1st person aiming to prepare the throw, horseshoes isn't that bad really.
And the less you bid the worse your opponent is. Just go to the Macfarlane ranch and bid $1. The other guy will suck and even if you're pretty poor at the game you should at least get the win for the 100%. It only took me about 5-10 minutes to get the hang of it enough to win once and to also get a ringer for the achievement.
I don't think I've ever lost at liars dice. It's the easiest game by far. If you get like a two dice lead it's pretty much in the bag.
I was down to one die my first time and still managed to take out the other two, that was pretty tense and fun. Now I usually win without losing any dice, it's a fun game but the AI is kind of easy to read.
Also figured out my last 0.5%, turns out that while that one stranger mission doesn't count for 100% it still gets counted in your journal, but not on the social club checklist. My game said 18 stranger tasks, and the social club says 0/18 (since it wasn't updating) so i thought I was done, but really in game it should say 19 stranger tasks (assuming you complete the extra one) even though only 18 "count."
Hey I need 8-10 people for Red Dead Rpg, I really only have 2 other people. So message me at [email protected] or JamaiconBacn (360). If not, then ok, I've got the whole summer to do it.
I've seen you mention this twice now but never actually explain what it is.
Also I was so close to killing two cougars with a melee knife earlier. Two of them were chasing this dude. I caught up to one, knifed it, and then couldn't catch up to the other bugger. As soon as I slowed and whistled for my horse, it looped round and tackled me.

So i finally got a chance to try out the multiplayer on this last night. I love the people who randomly kill you. I show up at this fort to help the guy kill the npcs, we finished it, he turns around and puts a bullet in my head. After that, i spent the next 5 minutes killing him until he quit. Then i see this other guy is killing someone over at another fort, so i head over there and proceed to fill him full of lead using the mounted gatling gun to cover the entrance to the fort. After that, i helped the other guy clear out the fort. What does he do? Turn around and shoots me in the face. So i come back to the fort, find him, put 6 deadeye shots into the back of his head, and what pops up? "Trophy Earned, Red Dead Rockstar" I was a bit worried id never actually get into a game with any of the devs, but nope, first time playing, within the first hour, i bagged one.

You get the achievement from either an employee or someone who already has the achievement. It's a viral achievement; many games seem to have em these days.
It is not likely the guy you killed was a Rockstar employee. I would imagine, if nothing else, they'd have some sort of obvious indicator that they were such.

Their gamer tags are actually reddeaddev01, 02, 03,etc. Or something similar to that. They had the devs playing in the first few days of release to spread the achievement. I got it day one. So, if anyone actually has a problem getting this, join on me and just kill me.

On the subject of multiplayer, is there some magic way to join existing roams, or do you need to get invited? Because I have yet to play multiplayer with anyone other than my brother.

Had an idea for a free-roam game to play. "Desperados and Deputies". Two posses, one of outlaws and the other lawmen. The outlaws go try to rack up the biggest bounties they can, the lawmen try to hunt them down and stop them.

If someone on your friend list is playing the game you should be able to just open up the menu for them and join their game in progress.
It might be full already though.
Also being invited works; just toss someone a message and ask for an invite if you're having problems getting in.
This is on the 360 I'm referring to though. No clue about PSN and how it works.
Every time I've loaded the game up here and said something like "playing solo, up for free roam toss me an invite" I've usually gotten several.

Only have one actual PAer on my friends list, everyone else is through AFewWangsMore, and you seemingly can't hop into friends of friends' games.

not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I think this game shows a strong preference for your friends list, so it'll drop you into a game with friends, if it can. If it can't, it'll just stick you anywhere, I imagine.
I know I've been in a game (TDM, gold rush, etc.) and exited out to find myself in a different freeroam lobby, with several (or just one) of my friends in it. They didn't join into my game because they had no idea I was even there until I went and found them, and I certainly didn't choose it.

Better yet, you could have the outlaws rob a bank in Armadillo or Blackwater at the start and have to escape to Mexico. Or have them hijack a stagecoach carrying gold or something.
Just did the mission where you ride out with the posse looking for the guys going after the settlers. The weather turned to a nasty thunderstorm, which made the part where you open up the barn to find that F'd up sight even creepier.

Ive actually explained it in the two old threads, and I think somewhere earlier in this one, but I'm happy to do it again.I'm trying to make an rpg out of Red Dead Redemption. My idea is to make our own campaigns and scenarios that we could play out. We could make scenarios ranging from finding a man's kidnapped daughter or being ambushed in a fortress. Lets say we have 10 people available. There would be 2 heroes, a game master (me) that could act as an enemy or npc, and 7 other people to be enemies for the heroes. I could even tell the enemy players how to act, such as go easy on heroes, use a certain tier of weapons, or something more complex such as telling them to turn icons and minimap off, and patrol a fort against the heroes of the campaign going on a stealth mission. I could create roleplay elements, such as the heroes trying to persuade (or threaten) a crazy miner to telling them where a boss of a gang is. We could make our own events and stories to have a great experience. I could tell it in more detail if you would meet me on live. Im going to try it sometime this weekend, saturday or sunday. If it goes well, then I guess I have to plan more campaigns. If it doesnt, then oh well.
Regarding Five Finger Filet, I found it was easier to actually write out the full ABAYAXABAY four times for the $100 bet so I could just look at it and proceed that way. Made my life easier.
