Got through the Normandy Wreck DLC for ME2.

Not what I was expecting. Still, it got its message across.

Whoever designed that gaudy-ass monument should feel bad though.

    Company shill time!

Just a heads up that the PC patch 1.02 is now up, along with the Overlord DLC that has already been discussed.
PC patch is available at: http://social.bioware.com/page/me2-patches

There's also video recap of the ME1 storyline and a demo for PC and Xbox now available - maybe add a link to it in the OP for those who don't have the game yet but want to try it out? You can import your saves from the demo into the main game if you choose to purchase it as well :)
Demo and video are available from the main ME2 page at: http://masseffect.bioware.com/

    edit:

    Patch notes:
Reduced the amount mining time required to acquire all upgrades.
Fixed an issue where DLC weapon selections would appear blank on the Weapon Loadout screen after removing DLC.
Fixed an issue where heavy weapon crosshairs sometimes remain on screen after entering a vehicle.
Fixed an issue where enemies sometimes 'pop-up' onto cover after taking damage.
Fixed an issue where Grunt's loyalty power sometimes doesn't unlock.
Fixed an issue where the Squad screen wouldn't update properly after removing the Alternate Appearance Pack #1 DLC.
Fixed an issue where save games that used DLC while offline could not be loaded.
Fixed an issue where the active save career would sometimes change after loading saves with unmounted DLC.
Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes crash during the Jarrahe mission when using Windows 7 (64-bit).
Fixed an issue where ammo powers activated by a henchman would sometimes overwrite the players active ammo power.
Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances, spacebar would not activate objects.
Fixed an issue where Loading saves while DLC is unmounted will change your active career.
Fixed an issue where the text for some characters in the keybinding GUI would appear as English in foreign language versions of the game.

Calamari for dinner, eh? This takes me back... have you ever had 'Krogan Calamari'? They sell it fancy, but it's meat from a Thresher Maw. Usually a little gamey, unless you can bag a female, but forget that.

One time, I was part of a crew that tried to hunt a Maw for the meat. Dangerous work, but it pays well. You can get a thousand credits a pound from the right planet. We killed a juvenile on the third day out in the wilds of this desert planet. Took us a few hours to strip the carcass, and nobody on this crew had hunted Maws very much, so they didn't know that if you killed a juvie, you better goddamned well be outta there within the hour.

Sure enough, the mother showed up and started eating grown men whole. Ol' Jessie and I weren't about to take that shit laying down, so we put enough rounds into this beast to kill a platoon of krogan, but that's the thing with females. They're bigger, and if you kill the baby, she gets pretty goddamned pissed off. It wasn't until I put some explosives on a corpse and threw it to her that the bitch finally went down.

By that point, I was the only one who made it out alive. I gutted the female as well as I could, put it on the ship, and used that money to start the Blue Suns. Best goddamned hunting trip of my life.

    :^:

@birudojin: i assume the steam version will have the patch through steam itself, right?

re: boss fight on therum: i ALWAYS kill the geth first and run around like a madman desperately trying to avoid the krogan's linebacker-fu

it's frustrating but fun in a masochistic way

EDIT: overlord is downloadin' now. i love you bioware for your painless DLC distribution methods

I would assume Steam would patch natively, yes. I don't recall hearing any mention of having a steam patch as a standalone in either case.

They sort of hide it. Rather than letting you buy 560 through the ME2 DLC page you need to go profile, add bioware points on the social site.

There should be an option to buy 560, but I think it's hidden on one of the store pages, but not on all of them. I was able to find an option to buy 560 by clicking the DA link on the side of the social site, however, which took me to https://points.bioware.com/

Don't blame me, I just work here :(

All extraneous points purchases go to support the writing staff's illicit behaviors, which in turn lead to more creative and awesome content.

Why oh why can't your company just charge my credit card directly for the price of each purchase? This point system bullshit is the most blatant money grubbing scheme I've seen in a long time. I know it's been around for a while and Microsoft invented it, but it still annoys me.

Started the Overlord DLC for a bit. Feels pretty good. I think I'll just use the Adept playthrough where I couldn't solve the Miranda/Jack conflict and take it as a sign from God that he wants me to kill off Jack. I need to finish the Reaper IFF and Endgame mission so I can take Legion with me to this. It just doesn't feel right killing Geth without Legion.

there'd be geth. That made me a lot happier when they showed up and I had Legion with me. And Archer has a good line about it.

But, wow. That was a quality piece of work there. Good ending. Definitely worth it, even if I couldn't find all the Cerberus intel on the first try.
