Wireless network Problems

I don't know what the hell I've done wrong, but my connection in my room will be fine but other times neither computer can connect at all. Then I reconnect it to the main computer and the connection kicks in. Is it in my settings or something?

Also, the computer in my room is running XP Pro and the one in here is XP Home, so for whatever reason they don't see eachother on the network, and I don't know where to manually put in my settings and such.

Help, thanks in advance.

Not to be rude, but it sounds like you just have a shitty router. I would recommend an SMC router.

Also, do you have the network locked down? If not, lock it up and see if you have the same problem. Mac filtering and the works is recommended. Also, try reseting the router back to factory spec.

Howdy. I really don't intend to hijack this thread but I also have a network problem. I live in Florida and the new house I moved into has FIOS. Verizon Fiber Optic. Well, they gave me a DLINK DI-624 modem/wireless router. I have it WEP'd up, anyone that tries hard enough to get through that deserves some free internet. My problem is this. I have an xbox and an xbox360. I have a wii and ps3 as well but they ride wireless so they aren't the problem. The problem is I bought ONE Microsoft Wireless G Xbox Adapter. When I got my 360 I moved the cable over there, problem is...I have alot of xbox games that aren't backwards compatible yet and can't play them online anymore. I was thinking I might be able to connect a router to that (the Xbox adapter) and connect both systems, (I'm aware that I would need another account on Live so that I won't have to keep doing the whole account recovery thing everytime I want to play on "the other" system). I also have a ps2 and gc I can no longer take online, the gc I don't really care about, but if the router idea would work I could maybe get all three going online...help?
