Aw crap... I promised I wouldn't after getting burned by Sonic so many times, but I think I'm getting a little excited for this.
Yea, I don't look forward to Sonic games any longer...but this one actually has me planning on buying it.
It just looks crazy and absurd and over the top, like Sonic should. Also = no supporting cast other than the mains. :^:
Do they really mean it this time? Last time they said that we had tails and the hogwolf and that highly annoying thing. Hopefully the wisps will behave more like items and less like happy little critters that will make our ears bleed.

Yea, I'm hoping the wisps are more like just powerups. No overlong dialogue scenes please.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik...and that all adds up to a good Sonic game. Ok, maybe Amy if they really need a female foil to Sonic.
As long as no-one blames Sonic Team for Sonic Chronicles, I'm okay with that.
As far as the game itself, I didn't think it was too bad. It plays very simply, and considering how many kids would pick up the game because it's Sonic, it played almost like a "My First RPG", which was cute.
The soundtrack definitely wasn't up to Sonic standards. I heard it was because they found out at the "last minute" that they couldn't license any of the older Sonic music (i.e. the classic Green Hill BGM), so they had to quickly come up with new music. Still, the music is my biggest criticism.

Otherwise, it's a simple, inoffensive RPG.
...really? You'd think Sega would have worked with Bioware on that one, especially since Nintendo managed to get Green Hill for Smash Bros. Brawl.

Yeah, this is definitley not true. A bunch of the music pieces in the game are remixes of older Sonic pieces.
I remember hearing come other controversy on the music though, but I don't remember what exactly. Something about the music being stolen? I think TSR may know something about it..?
So you know about the awesome SA LP's of Sonic 2006 and Sonic Unleashed? Well, I was wondering if the guys behind those ever planned to do an LP of Sonic Adventure.
I would literally set aside my schedule to watch them take on that game.
• Contrary to the E3 build some of you may have played getting S-ranks are TOUGH. You’ll need to maximise your grabbing of bonuses whilst still maintaining your speed and maximising your ring count in order to gain them.
• Yacker doesn’t have a voice as such, but makes an audible chittering noise. He’s also big on body language communication – think Sonic: Night of the Werehog.
• Since you guys love the Tails facts so much… FOXY FACT: Tails is more interested in inventing than Sonic’s heroics.
• Sometimes bad situations can lead to good discoveries!
• You CAN skip cutscenes – press + on the wiimote.
• Dr. Eggman ALSO has something of a 4th wall breaking moment.
• The Wisps have a, rather rude nickname for Dr. Eggman!
Oddly enough, the hypothetical ad campaign in my head was a travel/holiday commercial of each zone set to the zone's music. Perfect!

Seriously some of the best Sonic music I've ever heard. I love Tropical Resort Zone.
Anywho, next year is Sonic's 20th anniversary. Expect a game similar to this on the xbox 360 and PS3 for that. Iizuka already said the next game was going to continue this style.

I'll port beg for this game until I stop being a cheap-ass and buy a damn Wii :P

It's just that, considering the reception even the better Sonic games of the past decade have received, seeing people complaining that they can't play the latest, before it's even out, is an incredible reversal.
It's completely warranted, though. Sonic Colors in glorious HD would be incredible.

You seriously believe they won't also make a Wii version? :P
Another reason Colors is Wii: It's basically the same team behind Black Knight (boooooo) and Secret Rings (Yaaaay)

No, they'll also make a wii version I'm sure.
And it's kinda the same team behind those games. All the different sonic teams got absorbed into one big Sonic Team following Black Knight. There's only 1 sonic team now. Colors is made up of members of the Story Book series along with people who made Sonic Unleashed.
They needed to do this a long time ago. Having Sonic Team split up was a bad idea.
EDIT: And for the record, I think Sonic Colors is a test. They seem to be testing out a lot of ideas which I think will make their way into Sonic 2011. I think they really want to get the 20th Anniversary game right.
Because that's a pretty huge milestone for any video game series.

It has nothing to do with port begging. I own a Wii too, you know.
You see all those trailers that showcase the visuals in 720p?
Yeah, you're not going to get that with the Wii. Muted colors and progressive scan for 2010.
Heroes made it almost this far but then they released the demo.
Of course Colors has been demoed and plays fantastically.
It's easily going to be the best 3D Sonic game.
I don't get why people look back fondly on Sonic Heroes. I don't like it.
Sonic Adventure 2 left a bad taste in my mouth after SA1, particularly the tone, and I was confident that Sonic Heroes would fix all it's problems. But instead it exasperated the problems while making only superficial changes (i.e. excellent atmosphere).
The gameplay just wasn't there. You can only look back fondly at Sonic Heroes when compared to the dismal failures that followed, like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 2006. But that's like calling Rise of the Robots good because it's not Time Killer's levels of bad, you know?
Sonic Colors looks like it's nailed it all. The most important part - the gameplay - looks to be the best thing about the game, which is ace. It also helps that everything that compliments the gameplay - the graphics, the themes (I seriously love Tropical Resort Zone, it's an awesome mix of Palmtree Panic and Special Stage 1 from Sonic CD), the music, the story, etc - looks to be just as polished.

Heroes is terrible. But remember the hype for it?
Next Gen sonic! Teams! Creative uses of powers! The first video looked good with fast paced action!
Then the demo happened and people went "Well, it's early still!"
I think honestly Sonic Riders is probably the best game of that generation. Shadow isn't terrible either, its real problem is that it is not a Sonic game at all.
The absolute best "Sonic" game that generation is of course Billy Hatcher.

But once again, I hope this will be good.
Get it...running...as in Sonic runs...um...guys?

Well, as long as Tails behaves at least vaguely like Sonic. No bore-ass mech shooting a la SA2, please.

Console with the biggest userbase, largest target audience for the game, cheaper to develop for in case it was a flop.
Sonic vs Robotnik hasn't looked that cool in ages
LOL port begging for a Sonic game. Wow.

We're a very, very rare breed. One of the most charming games Sonic Team ever made.
