The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone... and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side." His only human connection is with Leila (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom from the warrants on his head, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Early rumors emerged about a zombie army or Quentin trying to rewin the war, but these were dismissed when producers said "Quentin is more of a terrorist upset about the outcome of the war not someone trying to fight and rewin it."
So yeah this film doesn't look too good. The first trailer was pretty bad and the second trailer improved only a little bit. I mean yeah it has a good cast with Brolin, Malkovich, and Michael Fassbender, and yeah the director worked at Pixar for a long time, but it still looks... off. The production troubles probably didn't help either, along with Mastodon having to score the film twice because of the first composer moving on to another film.
I've wondered that myself. DC has done so many Batman and Superman movies that it is kind of cool to see ANYTHING different, but Jonah Hex? When you google search "dc comic characters" you get people like Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman (Robin Sparkles), Green Arrow, Aquaman, Red Tornado, Ethan Hawkeman, etc.
I didn't even bother googling Jonah Hex but I am certain that half of the results will be the Jonas Brothers

Apparently they had another composer come in and fuck around with the score so I don't know how much of it is even Mastodon any more
The article's in the OP. John Powell originally worked with Mastodon, but then he left to go work on Knight and Day so Marco Beltrami came on. Beltrami threw away everything pretty much and set a new tone for the music and Mastodon made new music to match it

I had it as an example of an awesomely bad film
Also some Arrested Development
and if they can make this, they can make a bayonetta movie.
"Think of it as Evolution in Action"
Also Independence Day was good. Or at least enjoyable.
