Unwittingly got the No Dice achievement first try. There was just one dude at the table, and he incorrectly said I was bluffing every time, before bluffing that he had two 6's when he only had one die in his cup

The guy is sitting on some TNT. The sadist in my makes me want to shoot it, but I don't want to if it'll screw me over later.

edit: Heh, just bought a paper. Love what it says about the race I won, and the allegations against me.

    Hah, I remember that event.
I don't remember if it was a hideout quest or just a random event, but yeah it was escorting the guy through the mine, right. And yeah, he sits down on the stack of TNT at the end. For me, I was thinking how that was a very bad idea as I was walking away. And like on cue, as soon as I turn the bend, I hear this Kaboom behind me.

I honestly don't know if that was scripted to happen, or pure dumb luck. But god I busted a gut laughing on that.

Same thing happened to me. I remember thinking it wasn't such a good idea. And it wasn't!

So I was wandering around in Mexico and came across one of the lawmen with the two escaping prisoners. I gun down the escapees and saunter up to the guy for my reward and what does he do? He starts shooting at me and hits my horse. So I unload on him and, oddly enough, only then do I get the +50 fame bonus. So I loot the SOB and hop on my horse, which looked none the worse for wear.

I get maybe 50 feet when my horse collapses in a heap and I go flying off. Apparently it bled out. So I do what any horse loving cowboy does, skinned it and went on my way.

Having just moved house, I don't have any internet at home. So I've been playing the hell out of this single player. Mostly doing the ambient challenges. I am concentrating on the Hunter challenges at the moment, but I have got to the point where I need to kill two cougers with my knife.

It is killing me. Both literally and figuratively. I am finding this so hard, and not having the internet to look up strategies is driving me crazy.

So, I apologize if this has been asked already a thousand times, but I dont get a lot of internet time at work.

How the fuck do I kill two cougers with my knife?

And wheres the best place to go to do it?

Yeah, but I went there to get my scrap and the mission started. Might as well while I'm here, right? Just looked at the little mission goals I've got to do. Crack the safe on the first try (I've only ever cracked one safe. I did it easily but then got shot to death), get 3 head shots, and only fire 15 shots during the mission. Right now I'm holed up in the basement, praying the sheriff can kill some dudes for me and thin out the herd.

So can I actually find guns out 'in the wild', or are they always bought/given in story missions - like the early game winchester?

I think there was a game tip early on that you could be rewarded with guns for doing gang related missions, but I'm lucky if I get 20$ for those. What am I missing?

I assume this is a response to me.

I do roll. I roll like a motherfucker.

But I can't stab and roll. I can only roll. Or stand and stab.

And it's the part where I stop rolling that the couger lashes out like an engine of death and kills me before I have a chance to shit myself.

The black horses in West Elizabeth seem to be cursed. I have gone through 5 of them in the two hours or so I've been up here, which is about as many horses as I had for the entire 20+ hours before. I had a lovely white horse I got in Mexico but it inexplicably walked off a cliff on the journey up. May have to go back and find another one.

Had a creepy ghost glitch last night:
I was doing the Jack missions on the farm and finished one that ended in the barn (can't remember which one because I did them all back to back). So, in the cutscene, John is talking to Jack after getting off the horse and in the background near the barn door is a 2nd Jack, but a creepy zombie/ghost doppelganger. It looks like Jack did after the bear mission, all beat up and bloody, but it's frozen in place and twitching like something from a horror movie. Jack walks out past the thing then it stares at John until the cutscene ends with this "Father, why don't you love me too?" look.
I thought maybe it was some weird foreshadowing element (hadn't beat the game yet) until the weird glitchy twitching lead me to believe it was just a bug. Really god damn creepy though

Finally finished the game. That was phenomenal.

    Ending spoilers:
I like that when you go after Dutch, the feds bring like three soldiers, but when they come for you they have the whole US army behind them. Shows that they know who's boss.

Every time he talked about Uncle before we saw him, I was expecting him to be Red. I was disappointed when he wasn't.

And this and Dragon Age are fulfilling my vengeance niche. In that I killed the guy that killed my family, and I hanged his kid, too. I did Ross' wife slow with a knife, and I dragged his brother to death behind my horse. I was sad I didn't have a chance to torture Ross to death.

I don't want to do these outfit challenges, but I can't not do them. I'm physically incapable of doing five finger fillet, though. It creeps me out when he stabs himself. I can't stand it. And I can't beat this fucking bullshit rigged-ass poker. I have yet to win a single hand, ever. Even when I somehow get fantastic cards, these fucker cpu players still beat me. I had four of a kind, so I ended up jacking up the pot, and this mother fucker drops a straight flush. How the fucking fuck. I gave up on this rigged poker.

edit: Of course I shot him in the head after that, so it's not all bad.

Seaguls and Ducks I think are the most commonly missed animal for the Unnatural Selection Achievement. Seaguls can only be found on the docks of Blackwater, and ducks are along the river between mexico and america. Seagul was an easy find for me, but the dang duck took me about 20mins to find one. You'll hear a quack, and then look up... they fly slowly and clumsily.

Other than that... it could be another bird species you're missing. Hawk, Eagle, Songbird, Owl, or crow? Also... bobcats... can't forget about them.

I'm pretty sure everything else you'll end up killing for the ambient challenges.

Now... I do have a quick end game question.
So... I just got done with the mission to go after Dutch... but I havent finished the game yet... so try not to spoil anything with an answer to this =P. But, is the final confrontation with Dutch any different if you're honorable/dishonorable? I had Hero for my honor rating, and I'm curious if you get a different outcome with Dutch if you have max dishonor, as in... do you shoot him instead of just letting him fall?

The pig is another tricky animal most people don't think to kill. Its in a few pens around the world, most commonly next to your safe house in Thieves Landing.

Also, a dog is mandatory to kill as well for the achievement. I don't even remember shooting one but I had 3 dead on my checklist on the stat screen.

Yeah, when I was still missing some, it turned out I had never killed a wild horse.

I killed like 80 some domesticated horses (and skinned a bunch of them), but in the entire time I played single player, I never shot one wild horse.

Considering all the different things I DID shoot, this blew my mind.

Couldn't see this posted unless it was behind some spoilers.

DO NOT WATCH THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE BEATEN THE GAME. It spoils something you won't want spoiling. You have been warned.

    Should clarify. It's homing dynamite.

I want to go try it right now.

I know it's story based and all, but do I really have to pay 200 dollars just to play some Liars' Dice? I don't even know the rules!

Ducks are also all over Lake Don Julio. Like dozens every time you go.

Edit: And for Bannon9K - Honor level doesn't matter for what you're asking about.

It's weird, red dead wiki metions that domesticated animals don't count towards the achievement. (Dogs, cows, goats, chickens, pigs, mules, and domesticated horses)

I'll have to test it for myself.
