We had a team of protoss in 4v4 all proxy gateway into the center expansion. We walled them in and our zerg player killed two of them off with 12 lings before they GG'd out. We queued with them 2-3 more times where they quit right away.
if you guys check that last 4v4 we did, after the nukes when you wiped out rapemaster's base, he had 8925 resources in units lost, the nest highest person was his ally with 3250, the highest on our team was me with 1925.
Man, I need to get in on some of those multiplayer games, that stuff sounds HILARIOUS.

is there any balance to who I'm facing with the randoms now? the multiplayer screen says I have 4 placement matches (I know everyone's is saying that or something like it) but after each game I still have a ranking... not sure if that's actual/accurate/being used in any meaningful way.

Not sure... I'm in plat, technically, and sometimes I face real competent players and other times they're really awful. No idea if it's completely random, or still like... in my league.
i just couldn't believe he could afford a gateway at his base so it didn't seem like a proxy AND the two proxy gateways
Yeah I can't say I was particularly happy with that conclusion. He's a good enough player not to resort to cheese tactics on a map that tSlayer wasn't completely comfortable with. It's not like it was a money match or anything. But hey, his unbelievable defence in previous games made up for that.

Interesting match today (TvP)
More than anything, this match illustrated knowing when to attack is a skill i lack
My scout spots a gate, cyber, and forge (presumably to stop any reaper harass)
I go orbcom but with 12rax 13gas for a thor/hellion build I've been liking recently (thors are my favorite unit, and I'll use any excuse to field them, stalkers are a satisfactory excuse.) After 2 thors, 1 hellion, and around 10 marines I've expanded. Using the orbcom's binoculars I see he's going zeal/stalker with a lot of buildings going up but a pitiful army, exactly what I wanted...
So I waited to build more? I don't really follow my thought process in the replay. Maybe I was scared he had some hidden super army in the middle of the map, maybe I just like seeing later battles, maybe I just don't know to attack because I'm new to the game. But seeing the replay I definitely could have taken him at this point. I churn the thors and hellions while beginning to construct vikings for potential collosi and ravens to detect and provide support. I have begun a third expansion when I decide to strike. I arrive at his natural, and only, expansion with something along 8 thors, 2 ghosts, 10 marines, 10 hellions, 6 vikings, 3-4 ravens (guesses at this point, but the relative ratio should be correct). I drop point defense and send in the hellions to mop up the zealots early. They do a fine job but i am forced to attempt their retreat when the stalkers and collosi get into range, they don't make it. Fortunately, I am sitting with a perfect counter to what he has left. Too many thors blocking the way to protect his collosi from the vikings. Both groups of units are murdered by their respective counter. I destroy the natural but have taken too heavy of losses to press on, so I move back to repair and prepare for further strikes.
3 bases are fully running and I'm moving the scvs from my main into a high yield. Through scouting I see he has rebuilt the natural and begun a third way off on the map. I send my only 4 banshees to work the body on the third base and coax at least some of his army to it. He sends the whole platoon lol. My rebuilt Thor/Ghost/Raven/Hellion ball moves to checkmate his natural once again (only a few hellions this time in case he has been building zealots behind my back). But it was then I saw his true plan. Ive been wasting my comsats on finding expansions instead of just sending a flying unit to patrol the land. As a result, the 6 carriers I didn't see rolled up into my main to wreck my day. He could only destroy supply depots and tech buildings because i was completely mined out. In fact, he didn't even have a CC to destroy because it was floated to the high yield. In the end, he destroyed one expansion, alot of buildings save for a factory and 2 ports. I had enough vikings and thors leftover to counter the push, but I had to act fast because I lost most of my thor backbone. I swapped my unteched port with a factory, built a core and started getting battlecruisers out. With 2 bases running at full speed, and one a high yield, I had 6 cruisers very quickly and my 6 remaining thors repaired, with a frontline shield of about 20 hellions as a mineral dump. Just I begin to move south my high yield is attacked and my army arrives to save the CC from destruction. He fights off a few hellions, moves focus to the thors when the collussus and carrier arrives. I move my battlecruisers in from the side and...he ggs. His main was mined out and I was on top of every expansion he made, leaving no moves left to make.
total time was 43:08 (holy crap). He used 2000 minerals on nexi with little reward. I can say I'm going to push those hellions a little earlier, maybe supported by maruaders, to fight any zeal/stalker combo attempting to defend an FE so matches this long don't happen anymore.
also remember when a finite number of high tier units moves into your main and shows no sign of retreating even when the tide shifts it is often a last effort
In my experience Toss is more of the aggressor early on in TvP, mostly because terrans give them map control early in order to tech etc. If he doesn't push out and actually force you to stay in your base 7/10 times he is up to something sneaky.
If you think something is up due to poor micro management in a battle, weird unit comp., or even really low tech upgrades there's usually some back door action going on.

If I had to guess, he was a little too jaded by seeing Terran rush reapers or MnM to really think about countering my build until it was too late. I saw very little aggression in general except for the 2nd half
Okay, this was bizarre. I just got proxy Thor rushed.... yeah. Of course, the math was in my favor, 20 Zerglings > 1 Thor. After that it was a quick Baneling Bush into his base and some CC chasing.
Still, weirdest strategy I've ever seen. It was ZvT, so I quick expanded and took my nature, made sure he was relatively turtled in, then made a ton of Banelings and Zerglings for ye-old Baneling Bust (while also grabbing Hydras). I send out by Overlords to all the the expansions, and what do I find at my nearest Yellow patch but a Factory trying to churn out Thors! A few re-directed Zerglings took care of it, but still so weird.
Seems like there is a lot of players who have no idea what to do once their cheese fails.
I love the ones that just leave when theirs fail.
Cheesing is just the most annoying thing to try and deal with. Sometimes I can do it, but other times I just get smashed.
someone tried a hilarious cannon rush on us in 4v4. We had 3 zerg and 1 terran. Our terran held off all the cannons with 1 bunker while us zerg tripple 7 pooled the rest of them, it was great.
I feel like since I entered beta around Patch 8 terrans have really been scalled back. Not from nerfs, but from not getting buffs. And that's OK, I think balance is hitting an equilibrium.

its true, the two games before that were very good being that the player that was behind in the beginning ended up winning the match both times

BO5 series, 12-20 matches, should be a lot of fun.
Would you consider making an archive, or doing streams at times other than 3PM East? I hear you are funny, but I've yet to watch one of your casts.
Low and easy.
There's 2 ways to watch if you don't catch the stream (there's also one on Saturday at 12pm EST). The first, all shows are archived on Ustream and can be watched as VoDs on the Ustream page, which is http://tinyurl.com/shoutcraft2
The other way is to check out the 1080p recasts, I redo some of the matches from a replay in full HD, new commentary, put them on Youtube, nice for watching on your TV or big monitor. You can find those at http://www.youtube.com/totalhalibut
maybe i'm bad but i feel like A moving his frontal force ( the protoss) while coming in from behind with the void rays would have been good despite being an obvious move
also the first few forcefields weren't that great... didn't really spit much of the force except 4-5 marines
I just realized something pretty awesome that I haven't taken advantage of at all. You can stimp your marines/marauders while they are inside a bunker by selecting the bunker and pressing T or using the stimp ability on the bottom right.
It's limited to just that though. Ghosts inside bunkers can't use their abilities.

Terrans aren't allowed to cry about things being "easy."

Deposition was cancelled last minute. Wore a suit for nothing.
reveal to me a stream to watch while i dine
that's what i think in my head when i see ultras burrowed. how is that even possible? like medivac lifted thors
You know what that means: you need to play starcraft in your suit while sipping on scotch.
It's particularly fitting because the Ultra looks terrified.
