i always liked the maps where the mapmaker and his friends would know the secret code to type in and they would get a million creeps or gold or something
and by liked i mean irked when someone else knew the code
Since the custom maps system is basically pick a map on a list and get slinged into a lobby, I bet a bunch of people are going to make copy cat maps with almost exactly the same map titles as popular maps, but instead when you load this one, some epileptic video/disgusting shit gets played while a very loud high pitched noise goes off. And you can't tell the difference until you try T_T

if the creator name is unique (bnet nickname), you can go by that. but it's a pain to memorize the map name and creator name
Immediately following THIS I was contacted by White-rA with the intent of establishing the rematch.
White-rA is mad.
He wants blood.
And he will have it.
Saturday, 21 CET (12pm PST, 2pm CDT, 3pm EST) White-rA vs Machine in a bo7 for 100$
This time the match will be sponsored by goodgame.ru and white-ra.com <-- check em out!
First map will be Lost Temple with loser picking from the full map pool and repeat maps allowed.
replays from the previous match can be downloaded in that thread and replays for this match will be made available upon completion of the series.
With Machine winning 4-1 in the last show match there is little wonder why White-rA, the beast from the east, is eager to take revenge. Check out this match and get hyped, this will be amazing!
Casting will be done in both English and Russian with Lzgamer and myself CASTING the former and goodgame.ru casting the latter.
Hope to see you all there!
Dangerisk on
If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be DANGERISK.
like, i'm leaaaagues above most of the people i'm playing in that regard
but i keep losing because i'm horrible at penetrating into a base with a force... but i feel like that even if i map locked somebody, i'm gonna lose the competitive advantage of having good early game macro
i had like 9 mutas by the time this one dude had 7 marines (bad players), and i still couldn't win...
i love mutas, but it seems like you're pretty much committed to having one surprise attack with them (and hoping to win) and then having to change tech, because they're just going to build lots of cannons/turrets and make my mutas die
i guess the best solution is to zergling --> muta, harass muta while i can, meanwhile, tech switch to hydra and build up a good force, and maintain a small squadron of muta harass.
maybe i should just be more patient and let the player push outta their base. it's sooo hard to let that happen when you have such a big unit advantage on them though

oh what can i do
Mutas are generally pretty terrible to use as your main army.
They are great with map control though. Use them to patrol around and a small group of them can keep someone pinned as you expand. Also, you need to use them to poke into their main every now and then to find something to destroy. This will force them to over commit on AA while you can build a ground force.
I was playing some 2v2 with my roommate (who is probably a mid level bronze player) and I decide to try a really aggressive MMM game. So I load up some medivacs and really get in this zerg guys face by dropping and then flying off to another part of his base. I take him out after he counter attacks me and loses most of his hydra army to my tanks.
He then throws a little tantrum on how much his teammate sucks. The guy was Diamond rank 1 2v2 player, who was taken out easily by medivac harass, and then blames it on his teammate. The whole battle didn't involve teammates at all! It was pretty much 1v1 at that moment in the game.
This game is after the countless games my poor roommate had to play with void ray rushes and cannon rushes. Poor girl shouldn't have to deal with that much annoyance at her level of play.
"Nitro Packs research cost decreased from 100/100 to 50/50."
HAHAHHAHAHAH JESUS LETS ALL REAPER RUSH! This means I will have an extra reaper when I barrel down on you once nitro researches! woot!
I don't claim to be an expert in the game (about Platinum but surely not Diamond), but that should only be a factor against someone who does absolutely no scouting and doesn't see it coming. In that case, one extra reaper wouldn't matter.
If you're taking long enough to research Nitro Packs, you're likely hitting with your Reapers well after they should be a factor. I don't see this change as doing much.

Erm, I mean...
They'll get pulled really fast, just don't play random custom maps with no popularity.
Right, use the rest of the community as guinea pigs, I like your style.
Ho, Cider House Rules.
my first thought when seeing that map was "well i guess the porn maps will be video now"

Here is how the map looks:
It does not seem to be available to host, though I was able to get it working to watch a replay of other people.

Long story, bnet players are terrible people.
Other than that, poor terrans got the nerf.

Instead, nothing is awesome in SC2. There is only the nerf.
but they were also nerfed this patch

I wonder if they'll still be forcing real friends on me after the reset.
