shooting purple with purple darkness just isn't as cool as shooting them with luminous lasers
come on, you get to extract the souls of your fallen enemies and use them as little minions, or as bombs
one wonders what happens to all the "arrested" criminals who arrive in the zig missing a piece of their soul
Necromancers got to get their zombies somewhere, no?
Really, you have to admire the doctors and all medical staff in Paragon and The Isles. I mean, not only do they have to deal with the day to day victims of regular crime (gunshots, knife wounds, blunt instrument trauma, the broken legs that come from leaping off a 5 story building and running away...) but they also have all the wonderful super power related trauma too.
I mean, it's hard enough dealing with a stab victim. How about a stab victim with massive radiation burns over 90% of his body also suffering frostbite, to say nothing of the psychological trauma that comes from getting repeatedly mind-fucked by your local psychic super hero...

funny you should ask, apparently there's going to be a new story arc in I19 that deals with this

You actually have a device attached to you that acts as a beacon to teleport you. They are also somewhat finicky without constant tweaking/maintanence I believe, tending to break down and not teleport correctly. I am assuming the devices are also pretty expensive.
There are a few quests that has dialog about this in praet.
Or an IO that changes/downgrades a power's KB into knockdown.
They tried this, the game engine did not appreciate it. At all. It's not changing.
Really? Is it just a problem in general with an enhancement providing a negative bonus?
No idea. I can't find the actual post that mentioned it, I'm reasonably sure it was in the GR closed beta forums and those got purged. All that was said was they gave it big try, and had someone spend like a MONTH trying to get it to work and it just wouldn't. So well.
Also the "tweaking" and whatever is what Statesman WANTS you to think about the mediporters. Their true purpose is far more sinister.
seriously, the coming storm should just be statesman turning into cthulu and fucking shit up
it's kind of hard to believe that the engine has mechanisms for increasing the magnitude of effects, but not for decreasing them, but I guess the core engine is pretty old and busted, as they say

Also, those four purples I got last night? They sell for shit. Seriously. Every single one of them.
I probably have in the area of a billion across all my characters, and I'd have a lot more if I sold all the recipes I'm sitting on.
I tend to reinvest it in characters quickly though, why is how characters like my warshade and archery blaster that I barely play anymore have some pretty nice sets in their builds. Lately I've been bidding on a bunch of stuff for whenever my dominator gets leveled up.

Another person used IE instead of Firefox and that worked for that person.
I don't know any other options.
Just to clarify I was the IE guy. According to the dude who gave me the idea to try IE it was something about scripts not being allowed properly, and I couldn't be assed to try fiddling with it in FF. It's most likely a separate issue since my error message was different, but might be worth a shot anyway I guess?

CoX thread, I need your help. I can't decide on a secondary for a new Super Strength Brute. I have a 26 SS/Shield brute already on ice until I19 hits. I've "narrowed" my choice down to Fire, Electric, Super Reflexes, or Energy (in an attempt to prove it doesn't completely suck). Thoughts? Firsthand Experiences?
Fire is going to make you an AoE HELL machine, but Fire is one of the least survivable armor sets out there. If you go with fire be aware that it is NOT a resist-based powerset. It is a HEALING based powerset that has some resists in there to keep you alive while your self heal recharges.
Electric might be interesting. The +recharge power is really nice, and they gave it a heal a few issues ago. I haven't tried it since they added the heal, so I'm not sure how much it helps. It's tier 9 is a really nice power, though.
Super Reflexes is a good set, but you need every single power out of it. If you go crazy with IOs then you can skip elude. That's seriously it. It really constrains builds.
Energy is still shit.
EDIT: Although, with fitness going inherent, Super Reflexes might be a bit more appealing now since you'll have three extra power choices to play with.
I really think Paragon needs to rework Super Reflexes. It's just ridiculous that scrappers don't have any real AOE defense until level 35. I wish they would make it more like Shields and Ninjitsu where the Ranged and AOE defense is combined.

THIS is what I'm aiming to respec into come Issue 19, maybe. The purple in Imps is mainly 'cause I got the Chance for Build Up the other night, and the set doesn't seem THAT expensive. The slot in Rest is actually a slot in Health, which I don't have in that build, because inherent. I'm planning on slotting Miracle and Numina in Health, and the endurance proc (Performance Shifter) into Stamina - think that'd be enough recovery with the recharge bonus I have for Domination?
Also, not that attached to the 5-slotted Fire Cages for the sake of 3.75% recharge. I had a look, and the only Immob set with +Recovery in it was the purple, so I could either keep five slots in there and shoot for another +10% Recharge and +4% recovery, or just go with two slots (especially if the purple immob set is super expensive) and put the other three in, uh. Maybe 2 in stamina with level 50 IOs, or 3 extras with Performance Shifter for the extra 2.5% Recovery. Any input?
Drop invisibility for stealth. You can't attack while Invisibility is running, and stealth + that stealth proc in hover leaves you at the same level of hiding as invis.
If you can swing it, drop the entropic chaos sets for decimations. You've got those attacks slotted for crap accuracy, and even the 27% acc you've got from set bonuses doesn't bring you up to 2 SOs worth of hitting things.
Smoke is a dumb power. Drop it, take Ice Slash, and pull a slot from fly to five slot Ice Slash. Fly, with 1 fly IO and swift, is already capped. That slot is doing nothing for you.

Just FYI, another part of what makes the immob purple set useful is the chance to hold proc that comes as part of it; it can fire off fairly often.
It's fairly reasonable for being a purple set as well; nowhere near as expensive as the stun set. But given your build is centered around your pbaoe effects, might be worth investing the slots elsewhere...since mass immobilize means enemies are just going to stand and shoot at you instead of run away.
Drop invisibility for stealth. You can't attack while Invisibility is running, and stealth + that stealth proc in hover leaves you at the same level of hiding as invis.
Okay, didn't realise that Stealth + Stealth Proc stacked. Thing is, didn't want to run stealth while I was fighting stuff, hence the proc.
If you can swing it, drop the entropic chaos sets for decimations. You've got those attacks slotted for crap accuracy, and even the 27% acc you've got from set bonuses doesn't bring you up to 2 SOs worth of hitting things.
I left the Entropics in there, as I have them already (super cheap), the heal proc is hilarious, and thanks to Sleet, accuracy is just not a problem at all. My plan was to replace them with Decis as and when I could afford them, though. Or purple blast sets.
Smoke is a dumb power. Drop it, take Ice Slash, and pull a slot from fly to five slot Ice Slash. Fly, with 1 fly IO and swift, is already capped. That slot is doing nothing for you.
Trust me, I know Smoke is a dumb power. It's in there for the sweet 5% recharge from 4 slots - that's it. I guess I was figuring that Smoke's -perception and the Stealth proc'd make it harder for me to pull groups that were close to each other accidentally, though. Didn't realise that 1IO + Swift = capped flight, I'll put that slot elsewhere. Probably in Stamina. I currently have Ice Slash. I never use Ice Slash, it just sits there, and I occasionally pull it out from time to time when I remember or went to pose. I tend to just cycle Bolt/Blast/BiB, it's easier. But the 5% recharge bonus from Crushing Impact could be useful, I admit.
But I liiiikes it! Minimal slotting required for effectiveness!
No comment on my recovery with Miracle/Numina/Performance Shifter stacked on base Stamina? I dunno how much recovery that gives, as Mids doesn't do I19 inherent fitness yet (hence the Rest slot, it's really for Health.)
Also, Flammie. Yeah, the immob is a bit annoying with Hot Feet and Chilling Embrace (as in, it doesn't really let them work), but I can't really rely on the slows from the auras to keep them clumped if there are a LOT of them, or werewolves are in there.

Any input?

If you can swing it, drop the entropic chaos sets for decimations. You've got those attacks slotted for crap accuracy, and even the 27% acc you've got from set bonuses doesn't bring you up to 2 SOs worth of hitting things.
Smoke is a dumb power. Drop it, take Ice Slash, and pull a slot from fly to five slot Ice Slash. Fly, with 1 fly IO and swift, is already capped. That slot is doing nothing for you.
Chilling Embrace is still bad.

Okay, didn't realise that Stealth + Stealth Proc stacked. Thing is, didn't want to run stealth while I was fighting stuff, hence the proc.
I left the Entropics in there, as I have them already (super cheap), the heal proc is hilarious, and thanks to Sleet, accuracy is just not a problem at all. My plan was to replace them with Decis as and when I could afford them, though. Or purple blast sets.
