I am an Avenger:
To solidify my claim that the Young Avengers are constantly cramming the "Hey look, we have a gay couple on our team" theory, please note that they point it out twice in the issue, the first time being on the first page.

This irritates the hell out of me too, I wish it was just there rather than being constantly brought up but really never shown outside that.

I'd kind of like Speed to just say in one issue after they say they're gay, "Yeah, I know. You two never shut up about it."
I don't think I've noticed what you guys are talking about. Yeah, their relationship is a bit more pronounced than Cassie and Vision's, but I always chalked that up to the fact that they're the most important characters on the team in the book's two major arcs (the Kree/Skrull conflict and the search for Scarlet Witch). Meanwhile, the rest of the team, barring Speed, has no investment in either of the two storylines beyond their attachment to Wiccan and Hulkling.
Meanwhile, Luke and Jessica's relationship got just as much attention during Secret Invasion, and nobody complained about that.

Read any Young Avengers book. They reference "That's my boyfriend!" at least once in every issue. I don't recall any other Marvel couple having to remind the readers that they are romantically involved so much.

Just finished New Avengers #4, which I loved (mostly thanks to an awesome Iron Fist moment), and they're relationship features quite a bit in. So as much as it stands out with Wiccan And Hulking its around a fair bit with marvel at the moment. Theres also the story in I Am an Avenger just about Iron Fist and Misty Knights relationship.
I mean, the only reason Luke went to talk to him was to get to teh emprah.
Off-topic, but waht?
Luke went to Darth Vader so he would take him to Emperor, and then he could chop the head off the snake, at least that is what I read in an Extended Universe book.
Anyway, I wonder what has happened to Iron Fist in New Avengers? He's got a new costume and it;s white, and we all know that a new white costume means a power boost for sure. I'm also vaguely interested in this whole thing with the Eye of Agamotto and Dr Strange, though Bendis' dialogue style in this book has been taken to eleven and I'm really not sure I like it. It would be far better if it was more in the line of, say, The Avengers.
I think it's more that Luke went to Vader to try to convince him to renege from the Dark Side. Indeed, he was confident that Vader would not take him to the Emperor at that time.
Anyway, errr, I am really enjoying Children's Crusade.
Guys, I just started reading Brubaker's Captain America from the beginning last week. It's fantastic. Now I feel like a real fool for subscribing to shit like Ultimate X-Men rather than that book.

Maybe, but you get the fun of reading it all at once rather than wait a month in between.
So there's that.
Buying Ultimate X-Men is kind of inexcusable mind

Hey, Ultimate X-Men didn't get truly bad till Kirkman started writing it. Both the Millar, Bendis, and Vaughn runs ranged from decent to great I thought.

I picked it up during Kirkman's run...
Cool news on more BP, even if it's not the main series. I'd like for T'challa to be on an Avengers team though, since Shuri is the official BP now.

So am I but holy shit I have never seen a worse written Wolverine before

The backup Heinberg wrote in UXM 526 had him being kind of a pre-Phoenix Saga Claremont character, the threatening short guy. Is that the same in CC #2?
Wouldn't most mutants gleefully kill Wanda at this point?

I can see killing Wanda. Not being happy about it, but super pissed that she did it to the mutants. And if he still smoked, to put his cigar out on her face.
Billy didn't do anything bad..............yet. He gets a pass.
Logan would accept it as an unpleasent necessity at best, especially the prospect of killing Billy
he wouldn't be gleefully excited to do either
And the worst part is the rest of the Avengers are standing RIGHT THERE including Steve and Tony who have been BFFs with Wanda forever and no one goes "Dude knock it the fuck off"
it's just bad

He probably just got off of a plane from doing stuff with X-Force or something, and hasn't gotten a lot of sleep because he's running around having adventures with Spider-Man and the Avengers and the New Avengers. He probably just needs a nap.
-or-
With a dozen people writing him at any given time, not everyone can nail his essence with every line he speaks.

I like my Avengers stuff being Earth-centric, but I'm lately finding myself curious as to how well Tony's new rig would hold up in the current cosmic setting.

it doesn't make him not a terrible super hero

There was a Cthullu Pym in Thanos Imperative #4, Quasar blew a hole in his head with a Slingshot, so that's good.
Tumblr Twitter
But I really love him as this incompetent scientist who doesn't realize that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
But TLB, it's that kind of go-getter attitude which got him the position of Scientist Supreme!

But Loki can never be trusted
Oh no, they can never actually show any physical affection between dudes! That's gross! That's why they have to tell us so often so we'll know.

Good stuff, the art looks good, Zabu in issue #1. These are recipes for success. Pick up the Doomwar Hardcover in October then pick up this mini.
Judging by the screens, that woman must really hate dinosaurs
