It started in July '10, and this is what it's sold so far:
07/10 #1 of 9 - 44,934
08/10 ---
09/10 #2 of 9 - 35,497 (-21.0%)
10/10 ---
11/10 #3 of 9 - 35,410 ( -0.2%)
12/10 ---
01/11 #4 of 9 - 31,977 ( -9.7%)
02/11 ---
03/11 ---
04/11 #5 of 9 - 31,945 ( -0.1%)
05/11 ---
06/11 #6 of 9 - 30,467 ( -4.6%)
07/11 ---
08/11 ---
09/11 #7 of 9 - 30,247 ( -0.7%)
That's rather weak sales, for a high profile creative team on something that was originally supposed to bring some internet shattering resolution. Just for comparison in November Captain American & Bucky #624, now a third tier book, sold 30,472.
So it took almost two years for the whole story to come out? Is that better or worse than the original Young Avengers story?
I would say considerably worse. I liked the first Young Avengers story, it was fun and though I'm not a big fan of Heinberg's writing the characters and team were quite cool. Also it had Hulkling who was revealed as the son of Captain Marvel and the Skrull Princess (I forget her name), and as a fan of that whole part of the Marvel Universe I thought "holy shit they can do a lot with that!"
Children's Crusade, sadly is just more of the "Wiccan makes dumb decision and drags his team-mates around" type of story I have come to expect from the title. The whole bringing back the Scarlet Witch thing is cool, as is having Wonder Man in there as a classic Avenger (though how that fits with him wanting to smash the Avengers is beyond me).
Basically (in my opinion) it's an overly long story focused on an annoying teenager who makes stupid decisions but we are supposed to care about, which makes the fact that there is potential for a good story there even more of a shame.

Ugh, by the looks of the solicits it does seem that the Cap, Thor, and Iron Man solo books are starting new arcs in the spring, just in time for A vs. X-men. Don't get me wrong the event still has far less tie-ins than everything previous sans World War Hulk and Siege but still, the less the better.
I guess I don't mind about Cap since I've heard that series is not up to Brubaker's regular quality and maybe being tied in to A vs. X-men will give it some direction but I want Tony's book to stay out of it. If the Mighty Thor tie-in is set mostly in space I'm all for it however.
I'm still going to get the hardcover of Children's Crusade when it comes out in March or April, mostly because it's the main lead-in to A vs. X-men but also for the novelty of reading a story that took a year and a half to come out in a single day.
It is looking like Bendis' Ultron War plans will play out in Avengers vs. X-Men, as Ultron and Vision are on the cover of issue 0 behind the logo.
My new bet for the plot is that Ultron discovered the Phoenix's path while he was off in space, got his ass whupped in Conquest and decided to head back to Earth to enact his back-up plan.
So while the X-Men and Avengers are at eachother's throats, Ultron busts out and tears up shit. His main goal being to absorb the Phoenix Force into himself. It destroys existing life, and creates the next step. Who better to wield that power than the ultimate life form?
each of their solo titles are written by someone who is also writing AvX and all three of them will undoubtedly play a major role in the event
I would prefer it if their solo books didn't though. We already know about the extent of their involvement in the Avengers, the fewer tie-ins the better.

Just glancing through it at the story, X-Sanction #1 looked mighty decompressed, and just rather generic. It takes the whole "no time for talk I've got to be brash and crazy" to the extreme. Cable essentially acts like Bishop from the last Cable series, and Cap's dialogue felt like it came from a Microsoft Word template. "I see you are trying to write Captain America dialogue, do you need help?"
And no real justification for making Radiation Man a bad guy again "just because"
I liked the way Radiation Man's character was developed in Thunderbolts, and how he was a good guy who had a lousy past, and was trying to get by as the pawn of several different interests (Osborn, China, etc.).
Xsanction was allright. Cable was written pretty well but Cap sounded much to forced and rigid. Plus the cliffhanger was pretty lame. Still interested to see where this goes though.
I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!!!

Ant-Man: Season One by Tom DeFalco and Horacio Domingues
Hulk: Season One by Fred Van Lente and Tom Fowler
Doctor Strange: Season One by Greg Pak and Emma Rios
None of them interest me but then again I'm not the intended audience. The only one I actually want to see out of all the Season Ones is X-Men because of McKelvie's art.
Van Lente's CBR interview won me over by saying he'll be done with most of the origin within the first five pages, and the rest will be more the story of how we went from that to the classic status quo. I'm not interested in an origin story, but that sounds different enough for me to give a look.
Pak's not always consistent with me, so I'll wait till we see more with that.
The season one preview from a few months ago was really all over the place. Some of them look really interesting, some of them look like rehashes of classic early stories, and others just look like super-simple, all ages style origin stories.
Earth One may not be so hot, but it definitely seems like a much more coherent line.

I think you're reaching by calling Earth One a "line"
"Ride or Die?" asked Goku
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic

-Avengers 24.1 seems to be another prologue to Ultron War, while Avengers 24 and New Avengers 23 wrap up HAMMER war, and Avengers Assemble begins.
-FF and Fantastic Four bring Hickman's whole story so far to an end.
-Ends of the Earth kicks off in ASM
-The first hardcover of the Uncanny relaunch is only 4 issues for $20; an incredible ripoff.

Bye bye all ages books, for probably yet another relaunch.
I really hope the reveal in Battle Scars isn't (spoilers but just a theory)
Marcus Johnson being Fury's kid and then becoming the Samuel L. Jackson of the regular universe, that would just feel very forced. John Walker for head of SHIELD.

Edit: Oops, a year and a half. Maybe the A vs. X-men hype will drive the sales up for the last two issues?

Oh wait. No I don't.
you even made a fart noise joke
it is cool if you don't like it but keep it to the bitching thread if all you are going to do is whine about it

They're loose continuity flashbacks/retellings/lost tales. Think of X-Men: First Class, or Byrne's Hidden Years.
But someday it will be! I can dream!
Man, there's a lot better things you could be spending time dreaming about.

for realz though
getting that Dr Strange mini by Greg Pak. Should be totally boss.
