The official Risk game is very well made, and a good deal of fun. I wish it was more like Words with Friends", allowing for a slower-paced method with multiple games.
Seriously,
If you like puzzle and maze games you should try out Guggle.
I find it quite fun, and it was announced in the touch Arcade forums that
it will be on sale this weekend. I'm hopeing that they add a new feature later
that will let players share levels they create in the editor with others.
Bought Mirror's Edge on a whim, and it's pretty awesome—it helps that I'm a massive, massive fan of the original, but I think it's pretty solid on its own. Only played a few missions, but it's got that great sense of flow that the original had, plus it's got a fair amount of complexity over other Canabalt-y games: different moves, wall runs and climbs, shortcuts, enemy encounters, that damned helicopter chasing you, etc. $5 might be a little tough to swallow for some, but since I was already tempted to buy it when it was $12.99 or whatever on iPad, seeing it for $4.99 made it an instant buy for me.

I really like the look of the game and I don't mind $5 apps (Like Cave shooters). But I bought Mirror's Edge on the 360 for $5 and loved it. It seems so wrong when I am buying the iPhone version for the same price.

Er...I don't think you can base your iPhone purchasing decisions on the idea that you once got a $60 360 game marked down to $5. Mirror's Edge on iPhone is a totally different game, and is actually pretty good.

Yeah it's completely irrational of me. I'll probably pick it up the first time it goes on sale.
Downloading now. Dare I dream that a decent jsrpg has arrived?
edit: Okay, so there's no real presentation or story at all. You just go from one srpg battle to another with no explanation whatsoever. Still, it's at least better than that dumbed down Square music one and it's free, so hey.

I'm not sure if you know this, but you don't need to hit return when you get to the end of the text field. Just keep typing and your words will wrap to the next line as if by magic.

Thanks Gihgehls,
I did know that, I just find short text easier to read when lines are shorter.
If there is lots of text then I like long lines, but smaller text looks better with
smaller lines.
What's the verdict on Rimelands? I'm aching for a good srpg.
Now that I've played it a bit more: I really like it. It's not really an SRPG insofar as you only have a single character to control, but there are some movement/chokepoint/power use decisions to make each turn to manage the amount of risk. Almost feels like a roguelike more than anything.
Telltale's Puzzle Agent is wonderful if you like the Professor Layton formula at all. It's logic puzzles mixed up with a quirky, offbeat, mildly uncomfortable in a Home Movies kind of way aesthetic. I've been waiting for it to hit iPhone since it was announced, so I grabbed it right at the same time as Mirror's Edge, and I really dig both of them.

Yeah, I bought it on a whim. It's pretty fun, worth a fiver for sure.
So apparently iOS 4.1 is out now, and Game Center is tucked in along with it—though I don't know how much it'll really do until game start supporting it, I suppose we should start a friends list! :P
The is kinda an off topic question but if I jailbroke my phone about a month ago and have decided it's not really worth it so I was wondering if doing the new update will wipe that out or do I need to do a restore before hand?

Any time you do an official update through iTunes, you will become unjailbroken. There is no need to do a restore beforehand. It's a good idea to do a backup in case of some sort of update issue regardless of jailbreak, though.

That's what I figured but wanted to make sure before hand. Thanks.
Actually, if you update a jailbroken phone, some jailbreak things can stick. These are things that the OS supports anyway, but doesn't have a UI for, such as numerical GSM indicators and the like. If you want your phone to be EXACTLY the way Apple intends it, you should wipe it first and NOT restore a backup.
I've been spending a lot of time travelling lately and had some good time with the phone so I got dungeon hunter, Osmos and Peggle. They are all soo good.
Playing Osmos with a nice pair of headphones in the dark is very immersive
I'm thinking about getting Chaos Rings but FFXIII might have killed it for me lol

Even knowing it was a tech demo, I thought I was watching a pre-rendered teaser until it told me I could move around.
Also, Mirror's Edge is out on iPhone now, and works lovely on my 3GS - and is wonderful.
2009 is a year of Updates - one every Monday. Hopefully. xx

It's a mixed bag. The game is pretty much the same awesomeness, and there's some cool DLC content you can buy, but the controls are balls.
I would recommend turning the auto-deployement of units off in the setting though.

When I go to the bathroom I suddenly stay there five times longer than before.

"Rorus Raz" if you're too lazy to look to the left.

I'm on there as Wordherder.
...apparently when you get a friend request, a trumpet will sound REALLY LOUDLY.
