Ok, a weird problem came up. My PS3 controllers facebuttons just straight up stopped working. I dont abuse my controllers, they are well taken care of. Is there anything I can do? I dont want to get fucked up the bum and pay 40 bucks for a new controller because mine just decided to die. This is a Dualshock 3 we are talking about here.
It doesnt seem like anyone else has had this problem before, from the googling Ive been doing. Also, Id like to report that the official bluetooth PS3 remote works just fine.
This may be a dumb question, but have you tried plugging it directly in to the PS3 via a usb cable? I went to turn on a controller I hadn't (apparently) used in a while and nothing was responding, so I plugged it in, hit the PS Button, and it got to chargin'.
Well thanks guys but ive basically given up. Ive plugged it in with USB, and found the reset button (bet you didnt know it had one eh?), and even taken it apart. Its a lost cause.
My dual shock analog stick buttons (the click when you push the stick in) keep getting stuck down, in the sense that even though the stick isn't pushed in, the controller constantly registers it as being so. I had it happen on a controller no more than a year old, which is fucking galling considering I shelled out quite a bit for the thing.
The upshot is, despite my extensive google searching, there are absolutely no meaningful resources on controller repair, for any kind of playstation.

I wouldn't advise doing this if your PS3 suffers similarly cryptic problems.
