It's funny because Ekoku, the commentator, was a player for Nigeria and has been to the world cup.

I know Martin Tyler knows the rule but won't call him out for some reason.

    Great call by Kevin Muscat
"...and quite possibly their best chance of the game."

    Which is dumb because:
    A) It was their best chance of the game.
    unless

    B) He means in the game in total, which is silly speculation because there is a whole 45 minutes left of football.

    go Kevin!

It's been a slow settling down. They've gotten better as things have progressed. Like the vuvuzelas are slowly sucking lifeforce from Mexico and giving it to South Africa.

More to do with the fact that they realized they have other players other than Pienaar.

Hopefully someone in the halftime show explains the rule so that the commentator stops being so wrong about it.

Just got back for the last 10 minutes or so of the first half.

Some pretty nice oppurtunities when I got back, but there were some pretty eh bits of play as well.

The Mexican's no.9 oppurtunity just as I got back at about 40 was brilliant, great save on the keepers part too.

I've got money riding on Mexico, so here's hoping they win.

EDIT: I can understand people unfamiliar with football not getting the offside rule, but really?

It's not that hard of a rule to understand, and the man was clearly offside.

I expect Mexico to make changes. Guardado and/or Chicharito to open up the left side.

We do hate the vuvuzelas, right?

I mean, nobody enjoys that sound, do they?

edit: also, that is very sad about Mandela's relative.

Warm up somebody. After that first half, even though they settled down, the team's going to have to get blown up at least a little bit.
