I may be being stupid here but when I fire up a game it lists these bonuses for good or bad trophies but I don't know if it is actually giving them or just listing what you can get. I haven't synched my trophies on this machine but surely it checks itself?
Nice just redeemed my code and noticed I got extra stuff
Heads up all, apparently there's some sort of glitch that you can only use the reskins in the first game you make; they don't work in any of the other ones. So if you want to do a second good/evil playthrough you need to make two saves at the beginning of the game.

Oh I just fired up a bad game and saved there so I could try making a good game from scratch. I guess you have to work your karma back from where it is to do that then?
What a weird glitch if that is the case hopefully patched by the time I want to play through again.
My current biggest problem with the game is how AIM works. I kill a guy, turn Cole to face the opposite direction, hit AIM, and Cole turns to face the camera. This causes me problems to no end, because I want to just shift my aim quickly and fire off a power, and it goes in the completely opposite direction from where I want it to go. This has killed me a few times in the game.

I figure it will be but then I went to GameFAQs and people were already on their second playthroughs so I figured best warn you rushy pants folk.
And it looks REALLY easy to get your karma to good even if you start a from an inFamous 1 Evil save.
Beat the game on Hard this afternoon with my good karma Cole. The game was fantastic and I can't wait to dive back into an evil playthrough.
I also jumped into the UGC and after getting a hang of triggers and such I created and uploaded a mission. I can see some really interesting things being done with this stuff.
If you see "A Bad Case Of Gas" by Stiff_Ninja in your UGC missions then give it a go and tell me what you think
I'm starting to miss the old way to power up sectors now. These new missions for doing that aren't very fun to me. They just seem unfair sometimes because of how many enemies will swarm you. It's probably because of all the enemies I trigger on the way to the generator also joining in the fight. Maybe it's just me though. Maybe people like fighting off that many enemies. Oh well, it's just a small mark against an otherwise great game. I have no complaints about any other mission so far. Just those. It was especially bad in the second restoration because now the enemies have been powered up like in Infamous 1 and they'll follow you to the ends of the earth. If they become super hobos or something in the final sector then the last one is going to flood me with even stronger enemies. Not looking forward to that.
I'm having a good time with the game so far. The bag that comes with the hero edition has become my go-to manbag for commuting on the train.
I'm rockin' the old school Cole-skin, so the transition has been a smooth one. One thing I find distracting is the incredible drop in resolution when the shit hits the fan. It's like a res-drop followed by all AA being shut off, when things get going there are a few seconds of PS2-launch-title graphics going on.
I've been a bit upset with some of the cheap deaths I've endured. I've had rockets warp through buildings, I've had rocket guys spawn in on top of me, I've been insta-hit by multiple rocke.... Hmm, come to think of it, most of my gripes are rocket-based. I've suffered at least one random insta-death via Ravager (I was at full health, he popped up, screen goes grey, dead. Whut?!) That said, the penalty for failure is quite low, so I cuss and move on. It was funny to hear Cole echo my gaming epithet of choice "This is BULLSHIT. COME ON!"
With the power-up segments... I've been literally sitting on them, hammering L2, and occasionally letting go to litter the field with grenade spam or an ionic power. It seems to have been successful thus far. Am I doing it wrong?
I had a weird instant death with a Ravager as well.
It was a Ravager and the big enemy, and I got grabbed by the big guy. At the same time though the Ravager hit me or something, because the screen flashed like I took damage. Then all of a sudden I was eaten and dead. I have no idea what the hell happened, because I still had some ways to go before I should have taken massive damage if I didn't free myself from the tongue.
And I'm also spamming grenades and ionic powers, but sometimes there's just too many to keep up with. I just don't have fun with it. It's kind of like they're all based on that mission where you got your final power in Infamous 1, except I don't have a power to get rid of that many guys yet. Ionic powers are okay, but they can't handle 20 guys surrounding me on rooftops. If they were all lined up then yeah it would work.
Got this earlier in the day and have played a little way into it.
I'm really enjoying it, especially now that I've unlocked the Magnum Bolt and have it equipped.
New Cole is still a bit too agile for my tastes, but other than that I'm having fun wandering around blasting the various goons and being a hero.
And man, some of the citizens are gutsy. One sat there cheering me on whilst she was sat dead center in the middle of a firefight between me and the militia, which didn't end well for her. Another one started punching the everlasting snot out of a heavily armed militia-man, which didn't end well for the militia-man. Hell, she would've had the second one if I hadn't blasted him away before she could finish him.
Did not expect that little twist at the final choice where Nix is willing to sacrifice herself and Kuo goes full survival instinct mode.
Now I just need to find the last dead drop and the last few side missions before starting evil mode.

jeeze I can't beleive people are beating the game already
I've been playing for like 5 hours today trying to do every side mission, I only just finally got to the mission where you can uh......... transfer powers. I control almost every spot in the first island though and I'm already at full Hero status.
Maybe I wasn't supposed to have done so many side missions already

I did every side mission and I just finished the game late last night. I don't think I found all of the dead drops, but I found all 305 shards (the final side mission upgrade is soooo helpful for that), and control all of the territories.
I'd say a single "full" playthrough was about 18-20 hours for me. Already on my second run, relishing the wanton destruction and recklessness that the Bad Karma side affords me.

Dude, infinite Shock Grenades and Shockwaves do wonders.
Game beaten. I'm a little shocked at how short it is. But then again, the first game was like this too. If you do nothing but the story missions, you can blow through lickity quick. It was still good though, and I'm looking forward to an evil run already.
I was disappointed with the moral choices though. What did they say, that they'd make things more ambiguous? Bull. At no point are you ever confused over which is the good and evil path. Hell, the damn things are colour coded at all times. The final choice was just pathetic.
It would have been halfway interesting if they didn't chicken out 10 seconds later and put up the giant coloured banners, telling you "THIS IS THE GOOD CHOICE, THIS IS THE EVIL CHOICE". If they had reworded the options and not coloured the choices, I think it could have been a really effective choice. Too bad they pussied out.
If they make a 3rd game, I think the easiest and best thing they could do is to not colour code the choices or missions. Then I could actually decide for myself which is the better option, and possibly make for a more interesting game experience if I end up going back and forth between paths.

I'd like this to go a step further and hide the karma bar altogether.
Games like this and Fallout would work much better for me if you only saw the consequences of your actions, rather than 'Karma -5'.

Played quite a bit of this today. That has to be one of the strongest game openings I've played through. Awesome to finally see the Beast.
Highlight has to be throwing a car at a helicopter though. That was just awesome. The car throwing ability itself is pure awesome.
For reference, I was expecting her to sound like Bolo Santosi from Just Cause 2 or something and she still sounds bad in comparison to my expectations
I'm loving everything else about this game, though. Seems like side missions have even more variety now which is kinda crazy.

Just picked this up. Popped it in, all excited to play.
107 mb download. Fuck yes.
Still, I'm pretty excited. Managed to media blackout on this game so all I know is that you can get fire and ice powers and that Cole has a new voice actor. Here's hoping I love it just as much as the first one, if not more.
Also, I'm glad people are taking advantage of the Welcome Back program to introduce themselves to this awesome series. Great move on Sony's part making that one of the free games right before the sequel showed up.

Holy shit, I had no idea they reworked his default lightning bolt. It feels way bulkier but I don't know how I feel about the travel time and the slow rate of fire.
Also the beginning in-game cutscene tripped me out because it's miles and miles better than the shitty animation from the first game.

Yeah once I got past the intro (which felt kind of...sudden) I realized that. I'm down with the new bolt.
Also the "Don't Fence Me In" trophy is goddamn hilarious.

So yeah I think I encountered my first glitch. During the first fight with a ravager, the whole slo-mo thing while you dodge roll never ends. So this entire fight is in slow motion. Which is actually really funny, but kind of annoying all the same.
This IS a glitch and not intended, right?
e: don't want to make a new post since I have so many in rapid succession, so I'll just put my thoughts here.
I fucking love this game. It took a couple minutes to get used to the new controls. I still think the camera has a little too much inertia when you rotate it around Cole, but its nothing bad. I really love the new bolt since it seems so much easier to aim and to tell when you're actually hitting mans at a distance. The melee seems cool but not really too much different from the original game. I don't exactly understand why he needs lead pipe to hit people with since he has electric fists, but whatever.
The graphics are so much better. Actually, everything about the presentation is better. The framerate is better. The effects are better. Parts of the environment actually crumble and shit when you explode things near them. The animations are such a huge step forward from last game that it's almost disorienting. The city has colors other than gray and brown, and it just seems more alive than Empire City. The voice actors seem like they are trying to convey a little more personality than in the last game. Well, at least in Cole's case. His new voice is serviceable. I like the new enemies and the powers seem cool and the story is interesting so far, although the introduction really seemed to come out of nowhere. I mean last game was all "The Beast is far off but imminent, I need to get my shit together in time to stop him." And this game just opens up with "WELL HE'S HERE GET IN THERE COLE." I guess they tried to convey some sense of the time passing in the comic cutscene at the beginning, but it still seemed like he showed up way too early. Oh well.
Game is immensely enjoyable.

Once you get the slow recharge when hitting dudes ability, it mitigates a lot of the excess bolt spam waste. Magnum bolt is pretty useful too, but with large groups its slow ROF can be an issue.
Playing as Evil Cole, I'm sticking with the Skull Bolt. It's basically the Alpha Bolt, but with explosive headshots. Scythe bolt just isn't that impressive, fires too slowly and does too little damage. Great in groups, but then again, so are exploding heads
lol skull bolt and scythe bolts. those are some names all right.
I'm playing Good cole so I haven't run into anything like that. Maybe eventaully I'll unlock "Heaven bolt" or something ridiculous
The Hero karma unlock + Bolt Stream is fantastic.
Get a dude in your sights and you never run out of energy while taking him down. I started my Evil run today, slapped on the Reaver skin and started raining electric death on all that stand in my way.
I'm just playing the first one, got it from the welcome back thing.
Damn, it's good. I don't know why, but I never thought it'd be this good. or that collecting blast shards would be so addictive. There's so much to do, and they get it right.

Melee gets much better when you get the Finishers and Ultra Finishers. You can usually string combos together pretty easily at that point, making large groups fun to deal with.
And I personally think that Empire City was a better "character" than New Marais. Empire city felt more hand-crafted, while New Marais feels a bit more "copy / pasted". I find myself having to look at the map a lot more in Infamous 2, where in Infamous 1 I could navigate easily by just seeing which landmarks were nearby. A minor point, because the action and powers in Infamous 2 are definitely a step above the first game.

The bonus you get for hitting max evil gives you temporary infinite charge when you bio-leech. And bio-leeching seems to either fully restore, or give a very large boost to your energy.
I have no idea right now. Only beat the tutorial stuff before stopping for the day. Hopefully something will be available that will compare to the good stuff.
Also, 2 people played my UGC by today and it had 4 stars! I played 25 newest to get those trophies out of the way and damn.
Some of them are really, really creative but some are truly terrible. Starting a mission, seeing "kill all enimies" and then have no idea where they are is when I am thankful you can abandon and rate a mission.
I must have given 20 one stars out of 25 missions.
im 2k short to buy the last power on my good/hard playthrough, and its taking for fucking ever to get there with UGC. there really needs to be a way to still earn XP after youve taken over everything and found everything
aside from that this game is the bees knees though.
