    Alright no look

    The spring was fine

but fluzzard is unresponsive and annoying and can fuck off

it's the only motion control in either game that I think really doesn't work well
I didn't think Fluzzard was any worse than the Ray surfing in SMG1. Although you were forced to do a lot more in Fluzzard stages (getting comet coins and green stars) than the two Ray stages.

Also, Fluzzard gets a lot less frustrating when you realise you can get the comet stars through race requests by mail rather than fiddling around with the gates and the coin.
    Wait what?
I'm not entirely feeling the green stars. Did people ever resort to gamefaqs on this one, and if so, how long did you go before conceding and how dirty did you feel afterwards?
Did them all without looking any up. For comparison, I had to Gamefaqs a couple of star coins in NSMB DS and NSMB Wii.

Like others have mentioned, if you're not playing with the volume at a level where you can hear the star sparkle sound, you need to do so. I would definitely have had major problems and probably had to look things up if not for the audio cue.

There are only two stars per fluzzard level, right?
Because I did the normal one, then I got a letter about doing a race so I went and did that star, then I got the comet coin, and then it said galaxy complete.

I didn't know you could get the comet coin from the race. Almost invariably the comet coins are only available on the first star.

I didn't get the comet coin from the race. I went and got if after the face, only to discover it didn't unlock a prankster comet. I can only conclude that the race was the prankster comet, and I got it from the letter instead.

Now I'm confused about what happened.

The race isn't the prankster comet on the Fluzzard levels. The Fluzzard levels don't have prankster comets (thankfully!). You do need to get all the comet medals to get all the various prankster comets to appear, though.

I guess I thought there wasn't a way to get the comet medal on the Fluzzard stages without doing the "Star Fox under the 5 arches" thing. I could be mistaken though because I'm definitely not an expert on the mechanics of the game; that was just how I did it.

No, I'm almost positive the race replaces the prankster as I never got the letter to race until after I got the medal.

No, there isn't a prankster there. Some galaxies don't have prankster comets, and in any case it's not like individual comet medals are linked to individual comets, the comets just unlock when you hit a certain number of medals (and have done the relevant star for that galaxy).

You have to have the medal for a galaxy before a comet will come to it, though.

Speaking of controls, I was watching someone play this online and I was curious to how do the controls work? Do you use the Nunchuck? I was a huge fan of Mario 64 and I am wondering if this is as good as that was?

Nunchuck is move, crouch and camera centre. Remote is point, jump, spin, camera move and shoot star bit projectiles.

They are fantastic games and you should own both of them right now.

Anyone can help me with the world 5 minigame stars?
Specifically, I need tips for the second crate game (where you destroy the crates with the fire plume) and the ice skating game which seem to require near 100% precision (for the former) and pattern memorization (the latter). I'm at 109 stars now and have almost every other star from world 1-6, but these are really though.

Speak for yourself. I thought the music in 2 was friggin' fantastic. It's a little over-the-top orchestral, but it comes close to being as pure joy-making as Katamari Damacy's music.

It's like how I totally loved all the music in Katamari 1 and never thought anything could top it and then didn't really like the We <3 Katamari music for a long time until I played it a lot and then I decided it is way better than the first.

Actually that doesn't have a lot to do with Mario Galaxy, I just enjoy the music in both of them. I do think the music from the first is more memorable, classic Mario stuff.

Just like I like SMG's OST more than SMG2's. I appreciate that some levels/stars in SMG2 played some of SMG's better songs, though.
