    I've been 40 for a while.

I only have one subject this semester, so being a part time student I have a lot of free time.

I don't play anywhere near as much as some other people I know.

    More than 8 weeks ago.

I just haven't been talking about it in here for that long.

In the last two or three weeks I got myself that kickass city weapon and got my str to 1k, things have gotten so good I've been playing more. I used to need to get an "rpg" fix and a bit of an "action game" fix, where'd I'd want to play some action games for a while.

But WH is an action game. It's all split second skill use that means the difference between slaughtering people or dying quickly and horribly. :)

My played says "9 days, 43 hours, 23 min".

    Double post because it's awesome!

This isn't really new, it's just an easier to understand explanation than that giant list of random from the games day.
While the changes we’re making to ORVR represent a holistic attitude shift in our current gameplay offering within a single zone, the campaign itself won’t be changing. Players will need to unlock the zones in order and choose which zone to fight in. All zones, once contested, will begin with each Realm owning one Keep, and the purpose is to take control of the other. The purpose is for players to fight over the Battlefield Objectives, generating Resource Carriers that will travel from the battlefield objective to their Warcamp. Once the resources reach the Warcamp, or if the other side intercepts the resource, those resources will be added to their Realm total. No longer will the win condition be based on waiting out timers after a quick capture of all the zone objectives, instead it will be based on a push-and-pull of resources, and even if one Realm is outnumbered, the longer they hold out the battle, the more points they earn for their side.

Resources gained will level your Keep, and at each level you will unlock mechanics that will help you in your effort to take down the enemy’s Keep. At Rank one, your Resource Carriers will become armored, and at Rank two they will become mounted. By Keep Rank three, you will be granted offensive siege, which will be limited now but extremely powerful. The new vision of siege is that it can really help turn the tide of battle, and as such we want to allow more freedom in placement, so they will be able to be placed anywhere around the keep. Rank four grants you the ram, more siege, and aerial bombers. The ram will be required to take down the outer door, which must happen before taking down the inner door, and then eventually capturing the Keep flag (goodbye Keep Lords!) The aerial bombers is one example of a strategy we’re opening up to melee classes, who no longer will be forced (or able) to “grind” the keep door. Now they all can take the battle inside the keep before the door is down, to help employ new tactics in the attack and defense. Finally, Rank five will offer more aerial bombers and siege, and will hopefully cinch the battle for one side or the other.

These are pretty significant changes to the game, however we’re confident that they will create many new exciting experiences in Open RVR, including, among other things, spreading out the more populated Realm, giving the less populated side new tactics to employ.

At some point during the campaign, players will also be able to take control of Skaven classes. We are bringing four beloved Skaven archetypes to the game, and players will be able to choose to control a Skaven troop instead of play their normal character (but only if they’ve earned them!) These classes include the defensive constructible building Warlock Engineer, the stealthy sabotaging Gutter Runner, the tank, rat-hurling Rat Ogre, and the supportive rat-harnassing Packmaster. Skaven are some of the coolest creatures in Warhammer lore, and we think you’ll have a real dilemma on your hands as you decide to fight alongside your trusty character(s) or harnass the sneaky power of the rat rat thing thing.

    Looking forward to this.

You can't just zerg four points and win with this. You need to watch out for gank squads raping your resource carriers because then they can sneakily steal all your resources and upgrade their keep.

I'm also looking forward to these changes. I'm really bored of the current RvR campaign rules. It really sucks when one side dominates all BOs and Keeps in a region, killed a bunch of enemies but we still need to sit around waiting for Skirmish and Scenario VPs. I hate that!

Yeah, those new rules should spread the zerg around the map, making for some interesting fights!

I started back up. Moved my Ironbreaker to Iron Rock and my Shaman to Gorfang (?). Both are only mid-teens as I just couldn't get into the game when it came out. I liked some of it, but the performance problems and some bugs kept me from really enjoying it

Played a Rune Priest during some Tier 1 scenarios last night. Had a really good time.

I have no idea how open RvR is, but is there actually Open RvR in Tier 1 and 2 on either of those servers?

If anyone knows of a good guild, let me know. I'd like a more casual, fun atmosphere with some folks that are patient with basically a new player.

Now I've got burn away lies, punish the false (-50% incoming heal debuff), seal of destruction (all attacks ignore 50% of opponents armor for 10 seconds), pistol whip and the +50% to damage tactic all at once.

So Squig Herders are fun, and by fun I mean hilarious as I take out a WH and a knobs and laugh as I take my emblems and move on.

Was wondering if this gets even more ludicrous in higher tiers- I'm currently in t2, or if it gets tone downed with other class abilities etc.

Nope. They're still the best ranged dps in the game with the best utility all the way until the end of t4.
Although at the start of t4 you will be squished in .0005 of a second. You gotta wait until you gear up before you get back to where you were survivability wise.

I speak as a WH who can smash a new 40 sh within a couple of cooldowns and can't even touch the higher ranked sh. In fact they scare me so much I stealth away from them.

We need a TV series staring Morning called Pimp My Witch Hunter.

I'd link my character profile, but apparently Realm War can't find them for some reason. What I really need is a new sword, still using the green.. Vanguard?... one from the vendor. Finished off the Empire epic weapon quest this morning and ended up going with the pistol with the on-hit chance for a armor debuff.

EDIT: Oh, wait, there I am.

    Yeah.
I'm too lazy to keep farming the scarabs. I've already got all my conq and the melee cloak/jewellery set so I don't bother with the wc or go to lotd much anymore.
You do want to grab yourself the strength + melee power ring from the armor vendor in lotd for 2 silver ankhs and some golden scarabs. It's got str and melee power on it. This is in addition to the ring you need for the melee power cloak.

I am kind of toying with the idea of being an ass and buying myself a sword and a few talismans to go with it, and getting a small stock of undefendable ones. Mainly for the annoying premades we go up against which roll around in those. There's a bunch of ex-korean/asian guilds that merged with badlands and they have shit like World Boss weapons, LotD weapons n shit and I know for a fact that some of their most hurty dps use undefendable talis. It'd be nice to give them some of their own medicine.

    Here's Kerrelin
All the melee power on the items isn't showing. Nor are the procs n set bonuses. This thing is really only good for showing the names of things.

I really want a better main hand.

I did luck out once and get to surf one of their premades for a round. Their blorc was putting out ridiculous damage. He was full off-sov with the world boss 2-hander. I just slapped guard on, and let him do the work. It was retarded how quickly things died, and our health bars never moved thanks to their doks.

We went up against a full city full of them. They had 9 chosen and a few blorcs. It was like a wall of steel smashing into the order side. There was nothing any of us could do.

The funniest thing is that the times I catch one of these guys by himself, like the Aluba Shrimp marauder I caught lagging behind his group, I annihilate them in seconds. Many of them are not very good at solo play and without guards. some of them actually keyboard turn. Which is just...what.

Their healers and squishy dps tend to be really alert though. And there are definitely some dudes in there who are just great. I see some of their tanks guard swapping and other skilled group play. They all listen to their healers and come back to protect them as well, so it's impossible to do anything to them. It's kind of creepy actually: the melee swarm will turn and come at you just like a flock of birds turning in the air, all at once.

It was pretty funny last week ending up in a city siege with both him and the SW multi-boxer at the same time. We got rocked hard on stage 1 and stage 2, but in stage 3 they just couldn't position far enough away and we demolished them.

Okay, since you can only transfer a character once, I'm looking to just start fresh and find a server that is somewhat balanced and has a decent population. Badlands, I hear, is lagging badly due to prime time overpopulation.

Iron Rock, where I sent my level 15 Order characters, is pretty dead, even during prime time. Is there a happy medium server? If not for the Open RVR aspect, I would go to a server that's unbalanced terrible as the underdog, but I'd rather not do that in an Open PVP game (was great being the underdog in WoW, because hey, quick queues for WSG and AB and world PVP was rare to find on RPing servers), because it's not fun to get constantly zerged. I'd settle with being a slight underdog, but not a big one.

Bonus if there are some decent medium roleplay guilds on there.

The server forums on Mythic's site are less than helpful. Anyone have advice?

I don't know, but check this site and decide for yourself: http://pauser.com/warhammer/popmon/all_servers.html

Adding the average daily population of the 3 other servers, doesn't add up to Badlands numbers. Since this game is so based in its RvR mechanics, you need a lot of people to fight with and the numbers on the other servers I just don't think it supports that well.

Badlands had 2 weeks of bad lag, but recently, I haven't had many issues. I wouldn't play anywhere else and if it becomes unplayable, I'd just quit the game until they get it fixed. But that's just me. :)

Yeah, you're gonna want to go Badlands, Karak Azgal, or Karak Norn. The other servers are just way too dead to get any enjoyment out of things.

The lag to the Euro servers is surprisingly not that bad either. I was pretty happy about that as they're quite rocking.

As for roleplaying....you're probably not gonna find much more than people with the annoying greenskin speech mod, and shouting "Waaaaaagh!."
