From what I've played, it's very much in the vein of old school Zelda. If you dig LoZ or LTTP enough on their own, then go for it. It's really customizable, and from what I've seen from friends, has a fair share of fun mini games.
Worth 30 or less. While it's a nice game, it's pretty much a shiny LTTP with dungeons more in the style of the original Zelda (box-rooms) than anything. Wait for the price to drop, there were already a few nice sales recently like gamestop's $30 w/ $10 credit. I would expect more of those.
This is rather important, alongside "Do you like the feel of old-school games?"
Unlike most recent games, it won't hold your hand and let you play the game on autopilot. It does indicate on the world map where you need to get to next, but the way to get there may not be immediately apparent (3rd dungeon). Some people get really frustrated by that...
If that doesn't sound annoying to you, it's about the only drawback I can think of. The game is very entertaining, has amusing dialog/easter-eggs, and the bosses are awesome! Worth every penny.

I have a sad tale to tell.
I tried to pick the game up - on Monday - from a B&M Gamestop when that sale was running. It didn't come with a $10 gift card, but it WAS, for the time being, $29.99. I checked the stock online at this particular location. It was in stock! But then I went there and it wasn't actually in stock. I was sad.
However, there were two other Gamestop/EBs right within 5 minutes walking distance! But it was 8:11 PM and I was really going to the mall to buy pants. But I used to work at this mall. In fact, I used to work at EB at this mall. For well over 20 years, the mall has closed exactly at 9:30.
So anyway, I finish buying pants about 8:59. I get to the exit of JC Pennies and it was locked. Hmm, I said to myself. That is odd.
I think you can see where this story is headed. Into abject tragedy.
Apparently, unbeknownst to me, the mall now closes at 9:00 PM. Not 9:30. 9:00. I hustled over to the Gamestop, but the gate was down. I hurried past other stores, some of which still had their entrances open or were in a kind of semi-closed state, hoping against hope that EB would still be open.
It wasn't.
I'll never recover from that.
Unless, of course, they run another sale on the game.

Do you like Zelda: A Link to the Past?
Are you creative enough that you'd build your own character model out of large pixels (or at least download one)?
If yes to all 3 I'd say, buy it.
Also, watch a youtube trailer if you haven't.

Maybe I'll do as you suggest and just wait.
Or I could order from Amazon I guess.
Thanks, guys.
