hmm yes I will go natascha heavy with the other two natascha heavies on my team on lolcano with 10 people total on the server and then whine in the forums when people complain that seems like a sensible course of zzzzzzzzzzzz
SO I want to get a headset to communicate with you fellows better. What do you suggest I get?
Just use the microphone built into every Apple® Macintosh® computer.
I am looking for a solution cheaper then $2000, though.
I just bought a Logitech USB headset on sale for $25. The quality isn't astonishing or anything, but the microphone is clear and the sound is just fine for my purposes.
I was thinking about trying to jack my 360 controller into my USB port, and use that instead of the keyboard while playing. You guys think that would work?
Otherwise I'll have to borrow a PC gamepad from a buddy of mine, or buy a $20 wireless adapter that'll get my 360 wireless controller to work with my laptop.

Depends on what exactly you mean. A wired controller works fine, but you can't use a charging cable to plug in a wireless controller. The cable doesn't transfer any data and is purely for charging.
TF2 does support the 360 controller and changes parts of the HUD when using one, but why you'd want to play TF2 with a controller is beyond my understanding.

This was talked about a couple of TF2 threads back, so I'm sure someone around here has the info if you really want it. Of course it's not going to be as accurate but if that's the control you're used to using for shooters you can set it up on the PC.

Here's hoping it only works after the bounce because having your grenades shot out of the air by a heavy holding down fire is not fun. As noted last time it happened.
Dispatch from the Department of Signs You've Been Playing TF2 Too Much:
So last night I dreamed that, for some reason, America was at war with Germany, and I was some kind of grunt worker in an American military base. Well, the news was all abuzz over the fact that we'd captured some high-up German commanders, so everyone was in high spirits. I was tagging along with one of our commanders, heading out to some bar or something to celebrate, and we were walking through a city that sort of looked like my old college campus. Then, all of a sudden, I noticed a set of four trash cans and buckets sliding around on the ground, still upright. I pointed at them and yelled, "Look! It's the props!" And we all had a good laugh, because what's more American than an old-fashioned game of prop-hunt?
tl;dr prophunt colors Kupi's dreams

Anyhow! KOTH_Fall is a decent joke map. The highlight of the rounds we played, for me at least, was firing all my rockets as a Soldier and landing before they did, then watching them all arrive and blow up three guys on the point. Definitely worth checking out at least once, though Engineers are straight-up cheating.

Wow.
I had a good friend of mine, who is also a mac owner, fire up my steam account to play TF2 and get me the headphones.
However, after taking nearly a day to download the files, he went to start TF2 and his computer locked up so hard that he couldn't reboot properly. He suspects he needs to boot into single user mode to fix it.
The truth is, he suspects it is an optimizer program he installed a couple days ago, and his computer has been on the downhill slide.. But yeah. My quest for ill-gotten headphones killed a mac!

I can hook you up if you send me a PM.
Edit: Also, ugh, nobody in the PA servers and I can't stand most public servers.

I approve of KOTH_Fall because it allows me to show off my super pro sniping skills. The hand of God from on high smites you.

thanks man. What really sucks is that this crash killed his ability to play WoW with his g/f, and further he's going on-call for work tomorrow with regards to our 24/7 support of our managed servers.

It's come and gone.
